This route is one more stepping stone to get to Stark Mountain, and may be somewhat difficult if you have not been leveling your Pokémon consistently. Also note that any battle that takes place here will have a sandstorm raging.

Pokémon Appearances

Pokemon 329Vibrava.pngVibrava File:PkmnType Ground.gif/File:PkmnType Dragon.gif 22-24 Poke Radar

Note that the fully evolved Pokémon are levels 50-55, whereas the first forms are only levels 20-25. You will want to nab these Pokémon, not only because of their high level and ground type, but also because many of them have very high Defense stats.

Items

  • Calcium
  • Iron
  • TM37 Sandstorm
  • Hondew berry x2
  • Tomato berry x2
  • Ultra Ball
  • Shed Shell
  • Rare Candy
  • Protector

Note that the Rare Candy is incredibly hard to find as it is in an obscure area, and it is invisible. To get it, use your Dowsing feature on your Pokétech near the exit to Route 226.

Points of Interest

In one of the houses along the route you will find a Move Tutor. He is willing to teach special moves to any elemental starter Pokémon. The combination is as follows:

Move Type Teachable Pokémon
Blast Burn File:PkmnType Fire.gif Charizard, Typhlosion, Blaziken, Infernape
Hydro Cannon File:PkmnType Water.gif Blastoise, Feraligatr, Swampert, Empoleon
Frenzy Plant File:PkmnType Grass.gif Venusaur, Meganium, Sceptile, Torterra

Note that these moves are literally elemental versions of Hyper Beam. They have the same statistics and require recharging after the attack is used.
