Earthgift Shrine is a new 5-level Soul of Chaos dungeon added in the Dawn of Souls release of Final Fantasy I. It is an optional dungeon, located between Castle Cornelia and the Temple of Chaos. Access is granted once players have defeated the Fiend of Earth, Lich.

Unlike regular dungeons, Earthgift Shrine is not straightforward in design. It features an entrance area followed by four randomly-ordered basement levels consisting of two Cavern-style basements, one Desert-style basement, and one Forest-style basement. Each of these levels has a fixed layout, but they may be presented to the player in any order:
The Earthgift Shrine is located between Castle Cornelia and the Chaos Shrine. The cave entrance is in plain sight along the western mountain range on the way to the Shrine. Access is granted once players have defeated the Fiend of Earth, the Lich.
*For example, the player may encounter
**B1: Forest -> B2: Cavern A -> B3: Desert -> B4: Cavern B
**B1: Cavern A -> B2: Cavern B -> B3: Desert -> B4: Forest
**or another of the 24 possible combinations!
Treasure chest locations are not necessarily fixed on any of these levels, but are spread among all four.

A fifth basement level lies beyond the first four and is home to four new bosses. Astute Final Fantasy fans might recognize these bosses, as they all previously appeared in Final Fantasy III (not to be confused with Final Fantasy VI). Players will need to run the entirety of Earthgift Shrine at least four times in order to see all four new bosses.
Inside, a lone dwarf keeps watch over the entrance area and warns you of monsters beyond the door. If you haven't defeated the Lich, he merely comments on the evil stench coming from within.

It is highly recommended that you save your game before entering Earthgift Shrine! It is also highly recommended that you do not save inside Earthgift Shrine, as once you enter the basements, there is no way out except for defeating a boss.

A lone dwarf keeps watch over the entrance area and warns you of monsters beyond the door. If you haven't defeated Lich yet, you can't continue beyond this point. WARNING: Once you enter the nearby door, you will be unable to return to this area. Also, the White Magic spell Exit and Black magic spell Teleport will not function further inside! Enter the door when ready.

Treasure chests contained on these levels reset between runs through Earthgift Shrine and may be looted additional times for more items! Please note that locations and contents of chests may vary between runs.

The Earthgift Shrine is located between Castle Cornelia and the Chaos Shrine. The cave entrance is in plain sight along the western mountain range on the way to the Shrine. Access is granted once players have defeated the Fiend of Earth, the Lich.

Inside, a lone dwarf keeps watch over the entrance area and warns you of monsters beyond the door. If you haven't defeated the Lich, he merely comments on the evil stench coming from within.

2 Random Blue Curtain, Kenpogi, Vampire Fang, White Fang

4 Random Ether, Elven Cloak, Red Fang, Silver Apple

All four bosses are located on the lowest floor. Since there are only four random maps, you will have to go through all of them once. Fortunately three of them are small, and there are no mini-games.

The treasures listed are potential chests. The actual number of chests is determined by the specific map and the floor number. The deep into the dungeon you go the more chests will appear. If the map has less than five chests, treasures will be randomly chosen from the list.
