'''Turnback Cave is a dungeon that opens with the Spring Path when you get the National Pokédex. Inside are high level Pokémon. Also, you ''cannot'' use an Escape Rope to get out. Before proceeding, use Defog to clear up everything and make looking around and battling much easier.'''
Turnback Cave is probably the hardest dungeon you have or ever will face. Inside are high level Pokémon, and the place is crawling with them. Also, you ''cannot'' use an Escape Rope to get out, so you will have to remember how to get out. This is ''way'' harder than it sounds because Turnback Cave is seemingly endless. Finding what you want here will be ''very'' hard.

As you can see, the Pokémon here are ''very'' strong.

*Giratina
[[File:Pokemon DP Giratina room.png|200px|right|Giratina's room]]
Giratina is in a room after meeting 3 pillars inside of Turnback Cave. There are randomly-generated rooms inside of the Cave. They are all rooms with four doors to the north, south, east, and west. They either contain a pillar in the middle with a two number combination on them, or they contain patterns of Rock Smash-able rocks. You will probably want to bring a level 70 Pokémon with you, put in in the lead, and bring 15 Max repels along with you.

Giratina randomises this cave's space and time. To get to it, you are supposed to enter three rooms each having a pillar in the middle, before going through a total of 30 rooms, excluding the entrance room. Which room you arrive in is completely random and soft resetting the game will make all the doors lead to the entrance room. Even if luck isn't on your side, you will be able to get to Giratina's room within the 30 count. Just remember to click on all 3 pillars before leaving the room and dont go through the door you entered in or you will have to restart. After seeing the third pillar, go through any door (except the one you entered in) and you will be in the final chamber. Which has no wild Pokémon other than a waiting Giratina.
To get to Giratina, you are supposed to pass three pillars before going through 30 rooms. The key is to finding an out-of-place rock in the formations, and go to a door near(or opposite?) it. However, there seems to be no solution for soultions with / /, \ \, < > patterns...but even if you come across these, do not go back the way you came, or you will end up at the beginning. Note the wild Pokemon increase in level every time you pass a pillar.  However, in the entrance and rooms with a pillar, no wild Pokemon appear.

===Battling===
Note that whenever you come back after catching/defeating Giratina, after coming to the room where it once stood will get you an item, probably the Rare Bone. The inscription in the entrance of the cave also changes after your battle with Giratina.
Giratina is an extremely strong legendary Pokémon. Right now, the four moves it knows make the battle pretty easy. Here's how to capture it:

*First reduce most of its HP. Use Ghost, Dragon, Dark or Ice type moves to weaken it, but make sure you don't KO it.
* Status ailments such as PAR, FRZ and SLP are also a good idea (do not burn, poison or confuse as this may KO Giratina before you have a chance to capture it).
*Use moves such as Charm, Screech and Scary Face, or use Pokémon with abilities such as intimidate to sharply lower Giratina's stats. This will help make catching the Pokémon easier.
*Giratina vanishes one move before using Shadow Force. Switch to a Normal type Pokémon to avoid getting damage (immune to Ghost type moves). Once it has used Shadow Force five times, you may want to use a Ghost/Flying type Pokémon or a Ghost type that knows the ability Levitate. This will eliminate any chance of receiving damage from Slash and Earth Power.
*Start throwing Poké Balls once you feel you have lowered its stats and HP enough.

===After battling===
Note that whenever you come back after catching/defeating Giratina, Giratina's room will have a rare item, either a Reaper Cloth(go through 3 rooms only), a Rare Bone(go through 4-15 rooms), or a Stardust(go through 16-29 rooms). The inscription in the entrance of the cave also changes after your battle with Giratina.

==Pokémon found==

There are no wild Pokémon in the entrance room, pillar rooms and Giratina's room.
