Illidan's base is located in the north east, Malfurion's base is to the west, and Tyrande's near the middle, effectively point blank to the undead.
Illidan's base is located in the northeast, Malfurion's base is in the far mid-west, and Tyrande's immediately west of the middle.

Aside from fortifying Malfurion's base, there's not much that he can do; he will be occasionally attacked by the Orange AI player and harassed by the grey AI player. However, in the event that this base runs out of gold, you can claim the gold mine to the north-west corner.
Malfurion will be harassed by the base to the southeast, and from the inaccessible base to the northeast. The northeast base drops units south of their base on Malfurion's side and come from the east when attacking the northern entrance. They will attack an expansion built at the northwest gold mine.

You will deal with Illidan in this mission.  While you don't have "siege" units per se, your forces damage rate is more than enough to deal with the enemy.  Your best two units will be the Naga Myrmidon and Dragon Turtle; the former gives the Ensnare ability to pull down flying critters.  The latter can eat the land based units.
Illidan will be attacked by the base immediately west of his own, and possibly the inaccessible one. Attacks come from across the trees west of the goblin merchant.

You can't send units to Tyrande's base, and as such must destroy the red base.
The inaccessible base (orange) has the lowest food limit of all the undead bases.

=== Illidan's base ===
===Malfurion===
Immediately build an additional Spawning pool; this is the only improvement necessary for this base as it is generally not a target.
Malfurion can attack the southeast undead base, and the inaccessible base to the northeast. The latter is best saved until Illidan can support the attack from his side by destroying the accessible base west of his own. Malfurion has an extra gold mine to the northwest, and another in the southeast undead base.

If you're playing on hard, you might also want to include an additional defense or immediately start building anti-air; the first attack comes in three minutes.
Build up a strike force and hit the southeast base as soon as possible, while building up ancient protectors at the north entrance to his base. Entangle the second mine, uproot the protectors and move them to form a defensive line along the river's edge to the east, northeast. Uproot your other buildings, minus the tree entangling the mine and have them eat all the trees bordering the river to on Malfurion's side. Plant huntress sentinel owls on the trees across the river on the inaccessible plateau, that they can reach with the ability.

=== Malfurion's base ===
Entangle the gold mine to the northwest if you wish, and fortify the edge of the river with protectors and elven archers with upgraded line of sight/range/damage (including roar if not distracted when a barge approaches). Any air barge destroyed before dropping troops deposits them back on their side of the river, where glaive throwers can hit them. Grab the Nature's Blessing upgrade for Malfurion's treants and buildings.
Build one full attack force of 12 units, and upgrade them if desired. Keep them as defenses only, as there is no purpose for expanding the base any further. You may also want to add protectors, as the orange AI player has a habit of making flanking attacks.  A second force won't hurt.

=== Illidan's attack force ===
'''DO NOT''' give glaive throwers the ability to destroy trees, if it's not already researched. If it is then be very careful none of the trees with owls are damaged (destroys owl), and Malfurion's ability to summon treants isn't diminished.
After you lightly fortified Malfurion's base with 12 units, you should have enough time to build up an attack force.

You will want an attack force composed of Turtles and Myrmidons, to inflict damage on the enemy units and buildings.  They also work in pairs; Turtles can consume the weaker land units to allow the Myrmidons to focus on combat, and the Myrmidons can bring down the air units to the ground (and receive attacks from the turtles.)
===Illidan===
Illidan can attack the base west of his own and seize a second gold mine (recommended), and has a third just west of the fountain far south from his base (which makes building reinforcements to attack the final base more convenient).

Naturally, you shouldn't use only these two units; Snap Dragons or Sirens will serve as a ranged unit.
Train and upgrade sirens, myrmidons (ensnare) and turtles and grab the infernal stone. Clear the trees bordering the plateau on Illidan's side, in the small alcove where the infernal stone was located, using workers to attack trees or through selective harvesting.

=== Attack route ===
When ready to attack the inaccessible base have Malfurion summon treants on the plateau and run them east, and use Illidan's new line of sight to summon the infernal down on the trees northeast of the crypt closest to him, just southeast of the haunted gold mine (if he wasn't able to do so blind). Lure enemy units into the destroyed trees and near the alcove to hit them with the sirens parasite ability to create minions on the plateau, and ensnare any units if they get in range of the few scattered myrmidons (so they can't retreat out of range). Let the dragon turtles stuffed in the alcove target the crypt, then the infected defenders. When enough minions have been created focus all summoned units but one on the statue/hero (if still alive), necropolis/tower, and acolytes. The other unit giving line of sight on acolytes/haunted mine for the dragon turtles positioned north of the alcove near where the golem was located, but hugging the edge of the plateau. Malfurion can only summon a limited number of treants, you can either summon them all at once or save one use in case the attack fails and you need line of sight for the sirens to try again.

The easiest attack route is to attack the forest trolls to demolish the dams.  You'll be up against a Level 11 hero, but that's not too difficult to deal with.
Illidan can buff the summoned units near the edge of the plateau with scrolls of protection and healing, or place healing wards atop the plateau if he's retrieved them from the murlocs and Malfurion has transferred the set from his section of the map. Use boots of speed and potions of lesser invulnerability to avoid fighting through the enemies along the southern part of the map, except the murlocs. Hiring the sasquatch mercenaries available afterward and keeping them idle at the mercenary camp will allow the cooldown to hire more to run out while clearing the inaccessible, and nearby undead bases so that by the time Illidan gets back he'll be able to hire more.

Once the dams are down, capture and rally your troops at the Fountain of Health to the south; there's two creeps there, but additional enemy creeps will engage from the east.  However, this shouldn't give too much problem.
Once all future attacks on the brothers bases have been prevented continue normally with Illidan to accomplish the mission objectives and optimize items for the Blood Elf campaign.

Advance to the west and take out a small base - this will be easy to smash (especially when compared to the northern entrance.)  In case Illidan runs out of gold, you'll gain access to reserve funds that you can use in case the next portion gives you trouble.

Rebuild your troops (rallying injured troops to the fountain), and charge the Red base.

=== Attack waves ===

Malfurion will constantly be harassed by the base to the southeast, and from the inaccessible base to the northeast (across river).

Illidan will be attacked by the base immediately west of his own, and possibly the inaccessible one as well.

===Destroying every base===

Despite the mission giving a sense of urgency, there is a trigger in place that prevents Tyrande from actually dying. Thus granting time to explore and destroy every base. Even the inaccessible one can be destroyed using Malfurion's treants, Naga siren's parasite, long range units (as close to base as possible to attack units kited into range) and the infernal stone acquired by Illidan.

Make sure the units have the best upgrades (including Nature's Blessing for treants), and they can even be buffed by Illidan using scrolls of protection/healing if the summoned units get close to the cliff edge on his side (clear trees with infernal if turtles can't do it).

Illidan's base is located in the northeast, Malfurion's base is in the far mid-west, and Tyrande's immediately west of the middle.

Malfurion will be harassed by the base to the southeast, and from the inaccessible base to the northeast. The northeast base drops units south of their base on Malfurion's side and come from the east when attacking the northern entrance. They will attack an expansion built at the northwest gold mine.

Illidan will be attacked by the base immediately west of his own, and possibly the inaccessible one. Attacks come from across the trees west of the goblin merchant.

The inaccessible base (orange) has the lowest food limit of all the undead bases.

Malfurion

Malfurion can attack the southeast undead base, and the inaccessible base to the northeast. The latter is best saved until Illidan can support the attack from his side by destroying the accessible base west of his own. Malfurion has an extra gold mine to the northwest, and another in the southeast undead base.

DO NOT give glaive throwers the ability to destroy trees, if it's not already researched. If it is then be very careful none of the trees with owls are damaged (destroys owl), and Malfurion's ability to summon treants isn't diminished.

Illidan

Illidan can attack the base west of his own and seize a second gold mine (recommended), and has a third just west of the fountain far south from his base (which makes building reinforcements to attack the final base more convenient).

Train and upgrade sirens, myrmidons (ensnare) and turtles and grab the infernal stone. Clear the trees bordering the plateau on Illidan's side, in the small alcove where the infernal stone was located, using workers to attack trees or through selective harvesting.

When ready to attack the inaccessible base have Malfurion summon treants on the plateau and run them east, and use Illidan's new line of sight to summon the infernal down on the trees northeast of the crypt closest to him, just southeast of the haunted gold mine (if he wasn't able to do so blind). Hiring the sasquatch mercenaries available afterward and keeping them idle at the mercenary camp will allow the cooldown to hire more to run out while clearing the inaccessible, and nearby undead bases so that by the time Illidan gets back he'll be able to hire more.

Once all future attacks on the brothers bases have been prevented continue normally with Illidan to accomplish the mission objectives and optimize items for the Blood Elf campaign.

Treasures

There's a spot that allows the two brothers to exchange items along the cliffs west of the mercenary camp on Illidan's portion of the map, and through the undead base southeast of Malfurion's base. This is extremely useful for transporting items via Illidan into the final two missions of the Blood Elf campaign.

  • Ring of Protection +5, gnolls south of Illidan's base.
  • Claws of Attack +15, golem northwest of bright green undead base.
  • Infernal Stone, just south of above golem.
  • Mask of Death, troll chieftain maintaining dams.
  • Pendant of Mana, sasquatch at fountain far south of Illidan's base.
  • Crown of Kings +5, ancient sasquatch east of above fountain.

This results in an additional 52 attack,  7.5 armor (16.5 armor total), 12%/10%/8% faster attack speed, 225 HP, 2.45 HP/sec regeneration, 75 mana and .25 mana regeneration. +25% damage from Sasquatch Oracles Roar ability, 112 damage average (before armor reduction) and 1.23/1.16 (Metamorphosis) attack speed. Attack speed can further be reduced in the Blood Elf campaign by replacing the orb with the gloves of haste acquired by Kael and Vashj (1.05/.99).

  • Shadow Orb of Gul'dan (Tomb of Sargeras)
  • Claws of Attack +12 (Shards of the Alliance)
  • Boots of Quel'thalas +6 (Shards)
