Action RPG

Action RPGs are commonly defined as RPGs with in-action combat system.

In traditional turn-based RPGs, whenever the character(s) meet some enemies, the action stops and the combat screen appears; on the contrary, in an Action RPG enemies are fought on the travel field, without interruption of the flow of action.

Action RPGs are a sub-genre of RPGs, not a hybrid of action games and role-playing games.
