Walkthrough[edit]

The canyon in Coaster Canyon really takes up the entire area as the park has a very deep bottom with an elevation of 1 unit while the rocky walls can be anywhere from 9 to 15 units high. Although the park is long, it's also very thin, so space above ground is limited. Moreover, the canyon's high height can obstruct your view of rides. Luckily you have tons of walls for your track-based rides to tunnel through; as long as these rides are easily accessible for the customer and your vision, getting to 1,200 guests won't be hard.

Hire some staff members and place an Information Kiosk near the entrance. Set research to maximum and focus on Shops & Stalls first as you don't start with a Drink Stall. Once you unlock it, you should switch to Thrill Rides to unlock Go Karts as you already have a sizable selection of roller coasters available. A couple of those roller coasters even allow launched modes, so you can take advantage of that by building a small roller coaster on top of the cliff. Place some smaller rides and shops along the strip as well to encourage your guests to go across the bridge.

Build downward like this.

To expand your paths, don't keep building across the top. Extend your path off the cliff and go down to the bottom. Building most rides on the top of the cliff will eventually lead to them having very high supports off the cliff. Depending on the ride, it'll either be expensive or impossible. Building on the bottom not only gives you more room to expand, but lets you take advantage of the cliff walls by tunneling into them. With more compact, custom rides like the Wooden Crazy Rodent Roller Coaster, you could even build a ride completely underground. It'll not only make the coaster more appealing to guests, but it'll be rain-proof.

Eventually, you should have the path turn around near the edge of the park and go back toward the middle. As rides start to fill the bottom of the canyon, it will get difficult to see where you're building or even click on certain things. Get used to rotating your viewpoint often to find stuff or if it gets really rough, remove vertical faces and base land in the View Options menu. If things go smoothly, you can actually reach the halfway point of the goal by the end of year one as well as before you even start constructing the other side. As always, use advertising if your numbers start to slow down.
