Walkthrough[edit]

Octagon Park is a huge area and it's needed for an equally huge goal: ten different coasters with a length requirement of 3,937 ft (1,200 m) and a fun requirement of 7. You already have a lot of coasters unlocked and all the time to achieve this goal, but it won't make this scenario completely easy; reaching a fun rating of 7 will require a lot of drops, a lot of special pieces, avoiding all the penalties, and using coasters with high base stats. It will require a lot of money and time, but with some clever building, it can be done.

First, set your research to maximum and focus on Roller Coasters. You're gonna get a couple of duds like the Heartline Twister, but you'll eventually get useful coasters like the Steel Corkscrew and the Steel Twister. For now, use the Steel Mini to build a coaster. You can try to go for the goal, but doing so will take a lot of money as the length requirement makes it an expensive endeavor. It's more imperative to get a profit going, so make the coaster as small as possible or build a coaster with shuttle mode. Lay down a few flat rides, but be sure to put all of those rides in a small area so they won't get in the way of the planned coasters. Don't forget hire staff for maintenance. Once your month profits are in the few thousands and you have a lot of money, then it's time to build the big coasters.

The cheapest coasters that can get you 7 excitement easily are the Wooden and Wooden Twister coasters at an average cost of $2,800 and above. Getting that excitement rating up won't be too difficult if you pick the right coaster as the length of the coaster is one of the aspects that gets you bonuses to that rating. However, there are other ways to get that rating up and they should be used whenever possible. Add lots of drops as extra drops give you a bonus that caps at 9. If the coaster type has inversions, use them. Have a manageable amount of G-forces with high speed and banked or wide turns that can handle them. If you still need a little more excitement, placing scenery at the station can raise it in a pinch.

As for length, it's not easy to measure the length of a coaster until after it's tested, but you will need to spend a lot to reach the requirement, so it will require over $10,000 at least. Since the coasters will be long, it's highly recommended to start with a gigantic drop of two to three steep pieces if the coaster has access to it. That high speed will be necessary to take on inversions and keep the train going as it'll gradually lose speed by friction and gravity. You can create a second lift hill in the middle of the track if you're unable to gain any more speed, but if you have multiple trains, this might cause a crash if only one train stalls during a safety cut-out.

Once you have a couple of those long coasters finished, set the price to at least $5.50 to quickly gain profits. Once you have three of these coasters built, money should no longer be an issue to build the rest. It's recommended to pick other coasters with high base stats, which are usually the expensive ones: Steel, Steel Twister, Steel Corkscrew, Flying, Suspended, Suspended Looping, Wooden, Wooden Twister, Mine Train, and Vertical. The mouse coasters (Inverted Wild Mouse, Steel Wild Mouse, Wooden Crazy Rodent) are tricky to build since the cars lose speed quickly, but with careful planning, they might qualify for the goal. The rest are hard to recommend unless you're a coaster building expert as they have low base stats, cars with less weight instead of trains, a tendency to crash by taking hills too fast, or have designs that will never meet the length requirement.

Start with a tiny coaster to quickly build up cash for bigger coasters.

Spaces will be a problem the more coasters you add, so it's recommended to build your coasters over and under each other to utilize empty areas and make tunnels to build underground. If you still run out of space, you can try deleting a few rides or landscaping to gain more space. If that even still isn't enough, you can build the coaster without connecting it to the main path at all. As long as the entrance and exit buildings are placed, the ride can be tested and if it qualifies after being tested, it still counts toward the goal. It may take you at least 5 to 6 years to get there, but with no time limit, it's encouraged to take it easy.
