The self-proclaimed ruler of Dream Land returns to clobber his foes with more hammer attacks! King Dedede is an odd character with a mix of several fighter archetypes. He fits perfectly in the lumbering heavyweight category, with his massive size, sluggish movement and powerful blows, but he also has improved reach owing to his hammer, and better air game due to his multiple jumps. King Dedede's horrendous speed but great strength and range makes him a mainly defensive character, using painful hammer swings to keep enemies at a distance and punishing reckless foes with a deadly clobbering. He also has several tools up his kingly sleeves, from a projectile with variable trajectories to a decent combo game off of his large grab range. King Dedede's speed makes him a very unwieldy character to play, but given time, he can be a fearsome powerhouse that rivals the likes of Bowser.
King Dedede is one of the heaviest characters in the game, being just behind Bowser and Donkey Kong in terms of sheer girth. Unfortunately, this weight affects him much worse than the other heavyweights, giving him one of the worst run speeds in the entire game. Dedede has 4 midair jumps, unusual for a heavyweight, but their utility is undermined slightly by his poor air speed and rock-like falling speed.
King Dedede sucks in foes, then spits them out after a while. This move is similar to Kirby's version, but King Dedede's has more range without the ability to copy enemy moves.
Dedede Storm
King Dedede exhales a whirlwind that traps foes for multiple hits.
Taste Test
King Dedede spits out foes immediately after inhaling, dealing more damage with the spit. The move is overall slightly faster.

Gordo Throw
King Dedede takes out a Gordo and hits it forward. The Gordo travels in an arc, which can be altered by tilting the control stick left or right before King Dedede hits the Gordo.

Topspin Gordo
The Gordos travel really slow initially, then shoots forward after touching the ground.
Bouncing Gordo
The Gordos are charged with electricity and bounce back and forth after being thrown.

Super Dedede Jump
King Dedede leaps straight up, then slams down with a butt stomp, burying grounded foes and meteor smashing aerial ones. Harmful stars shoot out on either side when he lands.

Rising Dedede
King Dedede attacks by leaping up, but doesn't do the butt stomp afterward.
Quick Dedede Jump
King Dedede performs the whole move quicker, but at the cost of the move's strength and distance.

Jet Hammer
King Dedede charges up the rocket inside his hammer. When the charge is release, he will perform a powerful swing with the hammer. King Dedede can hold a full charge indefinitely, but it will deal gradual self-damage until he is over 100%.

Armored Jet Hammer
King Dedede gains super armor when charging, preventing attacks from interrupting him while charging. However, the attack is weaker and King Dedede takes more recoil damage.
Dash Jet Hammer
King Dedede slowly moves back while charging, faster if it's at full charge, then rushes forward for the attack once the charge is released. The damage of the move is reduced compared to the default.

King Dedede starts the attack off with a massive inhale that creates a whirlwind stretching over half of Battlefield. If he catches a foe or more in the whirlwind, he will draw them in and hit them with three consecutive hammer strikes, ending with a deadly bomb explosion. Dedede Burst is rather weak compared to other Final Smashes with similar mechanics like Triforce Slash, but Dedede Burst has the advantage of a massive and visually apparent initiating hit, which helps him draw in as many enemies as he can for the rest of the attack. The move usually KOs foes above 50%, doing so earlier or later depending on how close you are to the edges.
