RollerCoaster Tycoon/Lightning Peaks
Walkthrough[edit]
Lightning Peaks consists of four mountains and the pathway passes by three of the peaks. The landscape is completely unforgiving as there's elevated land everywhere with very few flat spots. Moreover, the path is constantly going up and down, which will tire your guests and give you few places to put benches for them. On top of that, it rains often. However, the park does start with two decent chairlifts and plenty of space for underground roller coasters and there's a decent selection of rides to start with.
Build the shops and stalls first as the guests currently in the park already need food and drink. Save the flat areas for your rides and either place your shops on slanted land that lines up with the path or flatten the land to place them down. Although it's inexpensive for 1-by-1 shops, it can cost way more if you adjust large tracts of it. After that, set research to maximum and focus on Shops & Stalls first to get the Information Kiosk to sell umbrellas. Raise the price of the Chairlift near the park entrance to $2.00 and consider shortening their queue lines as guests will complain about the wait time. Hire some handymen as well as more mechanics for your future rides.
Since there are two gentle rides already, build a roller coaster first. The biggest advantage Lightning Peaks has is that it's very high up, meaning that there's plenty of room to build an underground coaster and have it start off with high drops which as much room to put helices and bends as possible. If you don't want to max the loan to $15,000, start with a Steel Mini. You may need to edit the path itself if there's no flat path to connect your queue line to. As non track-based rides, be sure to put research on more thrill rides to get the Swinging Ship and the 3D Cinema. If you're daring, you can try putting a ride that's one tile wide, like the Swinging Ship or the Ferris Wheel, on the entrance path, but it will require some path editing and landscaping. You can also use one of the peaks of Lightning Peaks (the areas with the Egyptian obelisk on top) to place rides.
[[As you expand, try to create a circular path system around the park with each corner nearby each peak. Place a new coaster along your new pathway and make it underground as well since there's far more space down there. It's important to keep your path as close to the ground as possible so your queue lines can reach up there, but don't make paths that go up and down a lot either so you can have flat paths that can connect to queue lines. You should have at least three coasters and a good amount of covered rides to increase your attendance to 900.
