At the Quay during the night a group of shirtless guys will show up and go to the large ring beside the barn on the left. If you talk to the biggest guy who is marked with a green objective marker, you can activate an on-going side quest.
You have to pay 50 gold to play this side quest.
Now, each round you win earns you gold. When you get hit, you earn less gold.
To make things simple, I will use a character with 0 strength (no physique, toughness or health) to report how many hits it takes to defeat each opponent. More strength = less hits. You can also use florishes (
when charged up from attacks) which you can use to knock your opponent down.
- Round 1: 5 hits
- Round 2: 8 hits
- Round 3: 10 hits
- Round 4: 16 hits
Ok, I know people are going to be e-mailing me how I can possibly say I've never been hit. Now, when I first played, I hit the ring and saw what you were supposed to do. Block until you can hit your opponent. If that was it, you would still be at risk of being hit the odd time, but lucky for us, we have a dodge roll.
Stand facing your opponent while blocking, he will swing, block it, then roll past him, if it is his triple hit combo, he will turn and swing again. Roll past him yet again.
This time, he will not automatically turn to swing at you with his delayed, but powerful, attack. This leaves him facing away from you with his back ready for a beating. You can get in unlimited hits, but if he moves out of the ring from the force of your strikes (which he will) you only have 10 seconds to hit him all you can and get back in the ring. Don't push your luck, get back in the ring with at least 5 seconds to spare, its not worth a loss.
Now, all the fighters, at all the different levels, do the same thing thus, you can simply use this method to beat them all.
