Bowerstone Quay[edit]

At the Quay during the night a group of shirtless guys will show up and go to the large ring beside the barn on the left. If you talk to the biggest guy, marked with a green objective marker, you can activate an on-going side quest.

You have to pay 50 gold to play this side quest. Each round you win earns you gold. When you get hit, you earn less gold.

To make things simple, this page uses a character with 0 strength (no physique, toughness or health) to report how many hits it takes to defeat each opponent. More strength = less hits. You can also use flourishes (B button when charged up from attacks) which you can use to knock your opponent down.

  • Round 1: 5 hits
  • Round 2: 8 hits
  • Round 3: 10 hits
  • Round 4: 16 hits

The goal here is to block (hold Y button) until you can hit your opponent. Simple blocking will still put you at risk of being hit the odd time, however, so you can mix things up by using the dodge roll. Stand facing your opponent while blocking. Block his attack when he swings, then roll past him (by hitting Left lstick or Right lstick while blocking); if it is his triple hit combo, he will turn and swing again, so make sure you are still holding block. As he is punching, roll past him yet again. This time he will not automatically turn to swing at you with his delayed (but powerful) attack. This leaves him facing away from you with his back ready for a beating. You can get in unlimited hits, but if he moves out of the ring from the force of your strikes (which he will) you only have 10 seconds to hit him all you can and get back in the ring. Don't push your luck, get back in the ring with at least 5 seconds to spare, its not worth a loss. This method works with all the fighters at all levels.

When you beat these guys (perfectly) you will earn
350 gold
50 renown

Oakvale[edit]

At night, from the center of town when facing the tavern, go left past the tavern and turn right down the hill to the three warehouses you protected (or raided) as a child. You will find a similar set up to the gang in Bowerstone Quay; talk to the leader to begin.

As before you have to pay 50 gold to play; each hit you take is less gold you earn, at the end, you get the cash.

These stats are based on a character with 0 strength. The more strength you have the fewer hits you will have to deliver to each opponent.

  1. Round 1: 5 hits
  2. Round 2: 8 hits
  3. Round 3: 12 hits
  4. Round 4: 15 hits
  5. Round 5: 21 hits
When you beat these guys (perfectly) you will earn
400 gold
100 renown
