Oakvale (childhood)

Requirements for advanement
"Birthday Gift"

Core Quest: Birthday Gift

You need to get your sister a birthday present, which you can buy from the trader in the center of town (in the middle of the mini map, he is the lower of the 2 green objective markers). You can either perform good deeds to get money from your father or you can earn the money on your own, being evil.

There are a possible 6 coins, only 4 if you are good, 3 if you are bad. But if you do the bad deeds, you can still do some good deeds for extra coins, so do all the EVIL, and then do the G&E.

  1. Go straight from the cinematic with your father, ahead you will see a lamp post, go behind that house to find a man making out with some woman, talk to him.
    • GOOD - do not take the bribe.
    • EVIL - take the bribe (1 gold coin)
  2. Now, go to the center of town to the higher green dot, this is the cheating husband's wife.
    • GOOD - tell her about her husband (1 good deed)
    • G&E - after taking the bribe, rat him out (1 good deed)
  3. Now, go right of that house and take the path to the left of the building on the right, go down the hill to enter a cutscene.
    • GOOD - don't move (1 good deed)
    • EVIL - smash all the barrels (1 gold coin)
    • G&E - after smashing the barrels be standing where you were supposed to be standing (1 good deed)
  4. Go back up the hill towards town, but turn right, there are two green dots, a bully and a kid.
    • GOOD - beat up the bully (1 good deed)
    • EVIL - beat the kid, give the bear to the bully (1 gold coin)
    • G&E - after beating the kid up and giving the bear to the bully, beat up the bully (1 good dead)
  5. When you have the bear (Rosie) go find the little girl, use your mini-map, she moves between the center of town and the warehouses.
    • GOOD - give her Rosie (1 good deed)

Now, if you performed any good deeds, talk to your father to recieve 1 gold coin per good deed. He is on the far left of the mini-map.

When you have at least 3 gold coins and are ready to move on, talk to the trader in the center of town to buy the chocolates.

Now, your sister was the highest green objective marker, but she is now marked by the gold core quest objective marker, go to her to enter a cutscene and give her the chocolates.

After the cutscene, its a single linear path to the next cut scene, and the end of part 1.

Guild of Heroes (childhood)

Requirements for advancement
Guild Training <part 1>
Melee Combat Test
Optional quests and activities
Racing the Loud Mouth
Red Apples

Core Quest: Guild Training <part 1>

After the cutscenes, you need to go to the melee ring, from the map room, go right and follow the red carpeted path, this will take you to the dinning area. Go up the right side set of stairs and turn right, go across the bridge and head straight. On the right is the melee ring the quest marker on your mini map is the guild master, talk to him.

Hit the dummy 7 times, then you will get your first weapon, a stick! Hit the dummy 7 more times, this time with your stick.

Core Quest: Melee Combat Test

Looking at your mini map, the guild woods is on the right hand side, in the middle, it will be marked with a yellow quest directional marker. Go there to find the beetles. There are 10 beetles at the back of the woods, kill them to complete the quest.

When you leave the woods, you will have the option to move on in the story, or you can stay and do a couple things first. If you stay, talk to the guild master to move on to part 3 when you are done.

Beating this quest earns you
20 gold
30 reknown

Side Quest: Racing the Loud Mouth

Near Maze's tower (the large tower in the lower left side of the guild) is a guy bragging about how fast he is, talk to him and take the challenge of beating his time.

Its really not that hard, talk to him from as far away as you can, then be holding back as you finish talking to him and immediately hold B button to run. Go across the bridge and turn right, go straight as an arrow to another bridge, cross it and go straight to find some stones in the water that you can use to cross to the demon door. As soon as you hit dry land, turn around and retrace your steps back to the guy, when you round the final corner watch the A button icon in the lower right side of your screen, as soon as it turns to the speech icon, press A button.

Beating his time earns you
25 gold

Side Quest: Red Apples

Inside the servant quarters you will find a woman standing beside a cabinet, at this point she is not highlighted green, (she is if you do this quest later though) she needs 4 Red Apples to bake a pie for the guild master, agree to help her.

  1. To get the first, exit the slave quarters and turn left, follow the path past the first bridge, when you get to the second bridge, you can see it between the path and the big rock on the right.
  2. Keep going straight to the 3rd bridge that goes to the demon door, in the tall grass just past the practice dummies, is the second.
  3. A little to the left is a big silver chest, to the right of it is the next apple.
  4. Go to the melee ring, on the hill to the left is the fourth.
  5. Towards the guild woods to the right of the fourth, is the fifth.
  6. Go left, towards the guild woods, by the flowers is the sixth.
  7. To the left from the sixth is the last one infront of the tree.

When you have four or more, go speak to the woman to get your reward.

For helping her she gives you
1 x Blueberry Pie

Part 3: Guild of Heroes (teen years)

Requirements for advancement
Guild Training <part 2>
Optional quests and activities
Will Training
Melee Training
Archery Training
Sparrow Infestation
Bandits in the Woods

Core Quest: Guild Training <part 2>

You are still on the Core Quest "Guild Training" when Whisper gets you out of bed again, go back to the melee ring by going out the door and follow the red carpet down the stairs to the map room, and you know the way from there. Talk to the guildmaster to get your first sword.

Hit whisper 7 times to move on. Then you will need to block by holding Y button, just hold it and let whisper hit you 5 times. You can hit her with flourish attacks to earn extra strength experience.

Now you will face off with whisper in a full out battle, she is easy, just roll and get behind her where you can get in 4-6 hits. After 7 hits you will win.

When you're done with melee training, go to the archery ring, which is just up on the mini-map from the melee ring. Talk to the guild master, you will get your first bow. You can talk to the guild master before he gets to the archery ring.

Hit each of the stationary targets, then you will need to hit moving targets. An excellent score is 150 or more, for reasons I will keep secret for now, score 150-160 points, this can be done by hitting the middle dummy with full power shots and still have plenty of time to spare.

When you are done with the archery training, go to the Will training area, which if you didn't do the race yet, is the island before the demon door, the lowest part of the guild map. Go straight down to find a bridge and cross it to talk to the guild master. You can talk to the guild master before he gets to the will training area.

Hit one dummy with lightning to please the guild master, who will then let you hit as many as you can in 30 seconds, an excellent score is 11 or more.

Now, you can move on in the story or you can stay and do a few more things like before when you are done, talk to the guild master (he will be in the map room) when you are ready to move on to part 4. If you didn't do the race, or the apple pie quest before, you can still do it.

Side Quest: Will Training

Go to the Will training area and talk to the black cloaked guy to test your Will abilities. (If you just finished your will training with the guild master, you'll have to wait for a bit before he gets there),

Within the 30 second time limit, hit as many targets as you can, if you get 11 or more, you will get an A+.

Earning an A+ gets you
1 x Will Potion
1 x Resurrection Phial

Side Quest: Melee Training

Go to the melee ring to test your melee abilities, talk to the guy in the black cloak to start the test.

Just kick Whisper's ass again, you have to hit her 7 times with only being hit once or less to get an A+ and the reward.

Beating Whisper with an A+ earns you
1 x Iron Katana

Side Quest: Archery Training

Go to the archery ring to test your archery skills, talk to the guy in the black cloak to start the test.

Ok, same as before, hit the moving targets to earn points, again, it is easiest to focus on the middle target.

To get an A+ you need to score 150 or more, you don't have to beat your old high score if you scored over 150.

For an A+ (150 or more points) you will get
1 x Yew Crossbow

Side Quest: EVIL, Sparrow Infestation

Near the entrance to the dinning hall is a black cloaked man, he wants you to kill the Sparrows that are all over the guild. Each one you kill earns you 5 gold and you will get an extra 20 gold for killing them all.

  1. To the left of the man who gave you the quest, on the roof.
  2. To the far right, on the same roof is another.
  3. Across the bridge to the slave quarters, on the second entrance roof is one.
  4. On the turn before Maze's tower, is one sitting on top of the little tree.
  5. On the cross structure in the courtyard between the guild and Maze's tower, there is one sitting on the right structure.
  6. In the courtyard on the roof right behind the statue and the fountain is another.
  7. In the courtyard on the roof to the right of the guy who you can race, is the last one.
Killing all 7 and then talking to the guy earns you
55 gold

Side Quest: Bandits in the Woods

Go in to the woods under the pretense of killing beetles with Whisper, but on the way, you see some bandits.

Kill them with your will or archery abilities.

Now, you don't actually get anything for this quest, other than experience in the area you used to kill the bandits... as well as the normal renown and good points for killing bad guys.

Guild of Heroes (graduation)

Requirements for advancement
Guild Training <part 3>

Core Quest: Guild Training <part 3>

Its time to complete the core quest "Guild Training". Go to the woods and you will find your final test... man I wish all final exams were as easy as this. Also, if you didn't complete the optional quests in parts 2 and 3, this is your LAST CHANCE to do them.

Melee is first up, hit Maze 7 times with your sword. Just like when you fought Whisper you can hit him with a florish attack to earn extra strength experience.

Next is archery, if you stand far enough away from him, you can hurt him, giving you skill experience, hit him 7 times to move on.

Last is Will, I do not know if you can earn extra will experience on him, I have tried all sorts of distances, but no luck, so just hit him 7 times and you've completed the final test....

Leave the woods and you get to graduate.

Before you get to set out on your own, you need to learn to use the experience shrine. Its quite simple, just choose what ever you want, if you have enough experience, get it, if not either save up or buy something else.

Beating this quest earns you
2 x Resurrection Phial
1 x Lamp
2 x Health Potion
1 x Will Potion
1 x Apple Pie
600 experience

Silver Key #2 - Bowerstone South

Go to the clothing shop, its the first building on the left when you enter Bowerstone South, go up the stairs on the right and out on the balcony to find the Silver Key.

Side Quest: Beardy Baldy

If you go to Bowerstone Quay, at the bottom by the docks is a guy, talk to him, I just want to say I loathe this guy....

Ok, talk to him and he tells you about his poor daughter.... I hate this guy. Now, he wants you to look a certain way, depending on your hair styles you already have, I hate this guy so much, he will ask you to get a different look.

Normally the first step is "The Pudding Basin" go to the Barber Shop and get that hair cut. Return to the guy when your hair is the way he wants it.

Next he will want you to get a beard, normally its "Mutton Chop Beard" again, go to the Barber Shop and come back with the look he wants.

Now, the last thing he wants is a moustache, normally its "Trader Style Moustache" and again, go get the look and come back.

So, time to get married? NO, time to kick the lieing mother lovers ass until he craps his intestines out! You can beat this guy with your fists as much as you want, he will never die.

I hate him.

On a side note to this quest, if you have some or all of the looks he normally asks you to have, he asks for an alternate:

  • Pudding Basin - The Warrior Stripe
  • Mutton Chop Beard - Long Beard
  • Trader Style Moustache - Sheriff Moustache
Your reward for doing this
1 x Pudding Basin <or> The Warrior Stripe (hairstyle cards)
1 x Mutton Chop Beard <or> Long Beard (hairstyle cards)
1 x Trader Style Moustache <or> Sheriff Moustache (hairstyle C.)
1 x Fire Monkey Tattoo
100 experience
100 gold piecies (when you leave the Quay)
100 renown (when you leave the Quay)

Side Quest: Fist Fighters Level 1

At the Quay during the night a group of shirtless guys will show up and go to the large ring beside the barn on the left. If you talk to the biggest guy who is marked with a green objective marker, you can activate an on-going side quest.

You have to pay 50 gold to play this side quest.

Now, each round you win earns you gold. When you get hit, you earn less gold... I do not know how much, mainly because, I've never been hit. So, if someone does know, fill me in, ok.

To make things simple, I will use a character with 0 strength (no physique, toughness or health) to report how many hits it takes to defeat each opponent. More strength = less hits. Also, I don't use florishes ("B" when charged up from attacks) which you can use to knock your opponent down.

  • Round 1: 5 hits
  • Round 2: 8 hits
  • Round 3: 10 hits
  • Round 4: 16 hits

Ok, I know people are going to be e-mailing me how I can possibly say I've never been hit. Now, when I first played, I hit the ring and saw what you were supposed to do. Block until you can hit your opponent. If that was it, you would still be at risk of being hit the odd time, but lucky for us, we have a dodge roll.

Stand facing your opponent while blocking, he will swing, block it, then roll past him, if it is his triple hit combo, he will turn and swing again. Roll past him yet again.

This time, he will not automatically turn to swing at you with his delayed, but powerful, attack. This leaves him facing away from you with his back ready for a beating. You can get in unlimited hits, but if he moves out of the ring from the force of your strikes (which he will) you only have 10 seconds to hit him all you can and get back in the ring. Don't push your luck, get back in the ring with at least 5 seconds to spare, its not worth a loss.

Now, all the fighters, at all the different levels, do the same thing thus, you can simply use this method to beat them all.

When you beat these guys (perfectly) you will earn
350 gold
50 renown

Side Quest: Card Pairs

Go to the Tavern, the guy sitting at the table who doesn't look like a normal villager, and is also highlighted green, talk to him to discover 2 side quests. He's the guy wearing a blue suit, top hat and a mini traders style moustache.

  • Max Bet = 1000

Card pairs is the 2nd easiest (without magic) mini game to win, it is also the easiest to win until the last 10% of the game. So, when you need some quick cash, I recommend this game.

There are BETTER ways to make money, but, until later in the game, or before you have much money, Card Pairs can earn you as much as 100,000 gold coins per hour. Now, 100,000 gold is more than you will ever need in the game, unless you plan on being a land barron....

But, onto the game.

If you don't know how to play Card Pairs, you just flip a face down card to see what it is, then flip over another of the same card. The suit does not have to be the same, just the card (queen - queen, 3 - 3, ace - ace, etc). Because the cards are face down, you won't know where the matching card is, so this is a memory and speed game.

When your bet is placed and the cards are dealt, press "A" to continue. This starts the counter which gives you only 40 seconds to clear all 16 cards.

The EASIEST way is to start at either the bottom left or right, and work across the bottom row, making sure you remember all 4 cards clearly. Then move onto the 2nd row, match up any pairs that appear.

With this method:

  • 90% of the time you will get at least 1 match in the first 2 rows
  • 30% of the time you will get at least 2 matches in the first 2 rows
  • 10% of the time you will get a match in the first row
  • 1 in every 30 times you WON'T get any matches in the first 2 rows

Now, just go and practice, once you get it down you can win 100% of the time with an average under 30 seconds. Even when you don't have a single match in the first 2 rows, you can still win with time to spare.

When you win, you get what ever you bet, so if you bet 1000 gold, you will have made 1000 gold for that round. Simple stuff.

Try and beat 35 seconds to earn a special prize. Which activates a new side quest.

My personal best time for Card Pairs is 16 seconds.

When you beat 35 seconds you will earn
200 renown
1 x special prize

Side Quest: Collect the Hero Dolls 1

IF you beat 35 seconds on Card Pairs you will earn a special prize, when you do this and leave the Card Pairs table, a little kid will run up to you and will give you this side quest.

This is an on-going quest with many parts throughout the game, so, it will be broken down to each point in time where you can earn another doll.

First Hero Doll
1 x Briar Rose

GOOD, Core Quest: Protect Orchard Farm

Control the Guards
Don't forget, you can control the guards (to a degree) by using the follow and stay expressions.

Go to the guild and choose the "Protect Orchard Farm" quest. Make some boasts if you want, then head to Greatwood Entrance. Now go to Greatwood Lake and from there you can enter Orchard Farm to start the quest.

You need to protect the crates from 3 waves of bandits.

The first wave consists of 3 melee bandits, 1 will go for the crates, the other two act like homing missiles onto you. Go away from the barn that has the crates in it (only one barn, so it's not to hard to figure out where they are). This way, you will be against 2 Bandits, but you will also have the two guards with you. Kill at least one of the bandits, then leave the other for the guards to finish off and go after the bandit who went after the goods. If he is on his way back to his base with some of the goods, he will appear as a quest marker on your mini-map. Once the 3 Bandits are dead, get ready for the 2nd wave.

The second wave consists of 2 melee and 1 ranged bandit. One of the melee bandits will go after the goods, the other two will again go after you. Kill the ranged bandit and then go after the bandit at the goods. When all three are dead, get ready for the next wave.

The 3rd wave is the same as the 2nd, so just do what you did last time.

When they are all dead, Whisper will appear and ask you to hit her with a Florish. Well, smack her once, this will charge up your attack and then just hit her by pressing B button (that's a florish). Now just defeat her and the quest will be complete.

Beating this quest earns you:

  • 3000 experience
  • 750 gold
  • 400 renown
  • 1 x Whisper's Brooch

EVIL, Core Quest: Attack Orchard Farm

Go to the guild and choose the "Attack Orchard Farm" quest. Make boasts if you want, then head to Greatwood Entrance. You can enter Orchard Farm from here which will start the quest right away.

You need to protect the Bandits as they steal the 3 crates.

Go down to the barn, killing the 3 guards on your way. Guards use a mix of ranged and melee combat, so be careful.

When you get to the barn, one of the bandits will steal one of the crates, follow them back to the entrance.

The next two crates are exactly the same, so just do what ever worked the first time and you got it.

Once the last crate has been stolen, Whisper will appear and ask you to hit her with a Florish. Hit her once, this will charge up your attack and then just hit her with B button (that's a Florish). After that just defeat her normally. When she falls, the quest is done.

Beating this quest earns you:

  • 3000 experience
  • 1000 gold
  • 400 renown
  • 1 x Whisper's Brooch

Digging Location 02 - Orchard Farm

Go towards the house, but stick right and follow the narrow path, at the end you will find a grave, step up to it and you should see the spade appear on the screen, dig.

Dig here and you will find:

  • 1 x Upper Dress

Fishing Location 08 - Orchard Farm

Between the front of the house and the barn is a tiny puddle of water, but there are ripples there, go ahead and fish.

You will find in this fishing hole:

  • 1 x Elixir of Life

Orchard Farm

Go towards the barn, but follow the left wall on the outside, until you are behind it, there is a chest.

You will find inside the chest:

  • 1 x Jet

Go back up the path and turn right, you will eventually come to a Fence. Go through the opening in the fence, on the ground are some apples, 2 are beside the baskets immediatly on your right, 1 is infront on the second set of trees on the right closest to the second in from the path. Go across the path and along the rock you will see another basket with a large mushroom by it, there is another apple there. Go right and you will see an empty basket, there are 2 apples beside it. Go right along the fence past the tree and baskets to the other side of the tree where there are a couple of baskets beside a lamp post, the last 2 are there.

On the ground you can find:

  • 8 x Green Apple

Side Quest: Hidden Booty Hunt (discovered)

From the barn, going towards the Orchard Farms lake, right before you hit the apple trees, there will be a chest on the left.

Inside the chest you will find:

  • Treasure Clue #5

There are 6 in all, this is an on-going quest that you need all 6 clues to finish.

Fishing Location 09 - Orchard Farm

From the barn, enter the apple tree area, at the back end on the right hand side is a wall of rock, follow the inside of the rock to find a dock, there is a fishing hole here.

You will find in this fishing hole:

  • 1 x Coron Visor Tattoo

Fishing Location 10 - Orchard Farm

Follow the path from the barn, through the apple tree area all the way to the lake area, off the dock is a fishing area.

You will find in this fishing hole:

  • Silver Key #6 - Orchard Farm

Digging Location 03 - Orchard Farm

There is a digging location on the path AFTER the apple trees, just pay attention to your on screen Dpad display for the shovel to appear. The problem is, you dig and your guy cheers like he normally does when you find something, but you don't get anything... anyway, if you feel like checking it out for yourself, go for it.

You will find the following:

  • unknown

Orchard Farm (again) to Greatwood Caves

Optional quests and activities:

  • Orchard Farm Escort
  • Hobbe Killing Contest
  • Greatwood Gorge
  • Demon Door #2
  • Greatwood Cullis Gate
  • Fishing Location 11
  • Greatwood Caves

Side Quest: Orchard Farm Escort

Warp back to the Heroes' Guild, you can grab the "Hobbe Killing Contest" quest card to save time, or you can wait until later. Either way, exit the guild and at Lookout Point, you should find a trader marked by the green objective marker.

After agreeing to take the trader to Orchard Farm, command him to follow you, and just as he said, don't run to fast or he will get left behind, which is bad.

The reward you get depends on how well you guard him. If he doesn't get hit, he will give you a bonus gift (Gems, which are worth about 500 gold).

Now, right away in Greatwood Entrance, that little path on your left, when you pass it a Bandit magically appears down it and comes up to attack your trader. Watch out for that if you want the trader to give you his gift.

Just hack your way to Orchard farm from there, sometimes you will have to go to the entrance at Greatwood Lake. But, for this time you can probably just use the entrance at Greatwood Entrance.

Once you get there, you get your money and possibly your gift, then the quest is done.

This quest comes back, as in you can do it more than once, but it takes a couple game days.

Beating this quest (perfectly) will earn you:

  • 500 gold (including pre-payment)
  • 1 x Gem (Varies)

If you didn't beat it perfectly and you feel robbed, you can shoot the trader in the back and kill him, he will drop the Gem he should have given to you in the first place.

Optional Quest: Hobbe Killing Contest

If you didn't already take the quest card, do so now and go to Orchard Farm. When you enter Orchard Farm you need to head to the Apple Trees.

Before you start the quest, you will be able to enter the house here, it only opens during certain times and can't be broken down or broken into with lockpick, so if you want to get the items inside, do it now.

Inside you will find:

  • 1 x Making Friends
  • 1 x The Rotten Apple

You'll get filled in on what you have to do and the challenge begins.

You have 3 minutes 30 seconds to kill as many Hobbes as you can.

There is no real threat from Hobbes, unless they have large numbers, but here the most you will possibly see is 5, ussually they are in a group of 3.

If you want to Humble Whisper don't fight near her, she will take more of your kills on Hobbes you beat up than you will gain from her beating them up.

After the time runs up, if you have more than her, you win.

Beating this quest earns you:

  • 900 gold
  • 200 renown
  • 1 x Hobbe Tooth Trophy

Greatwood Gorge

To get to Greatwood Gorge, go to Greatwood Lake and go to the lower left side, across the bridge and up the stairs.

When you enter the guild master will warn you of a bandit toll, follow the path and you will encounter a bandit who gives you two choices:

  1. PAY - If you pay, you will just lose gold... you won't gain any GOOD points. You can't take their items or they attack you. There is no point in paying them.
  2. KILL - If you refuse to pay, you can kill all the bandits, earning GOOD points for every kill, just as you do normally. You can also take all the items once the're dead. This is the only way to go.

Once you're done slaying the bandits, you can find some items. If you chose to PAY the bandits, they will attack you if they catch you taking their items.

Inside the chests you will find:

  • 1 x Flame Augmentation
  • 1 x Steel Pickhammer
  • 500 gold

Inside the barrels you will find:

  • 2 x Health Potion
  • 2 x Will Potion
  • 1 x Red Meat
  • 1 x Apple Pie

Demon Door #2 - Greatwood Gorge

Go to the lowest point on the mini-map for Greatwood Gorge, near the exit is a demon door. It requires you to be evil, but you can counter the EVIL points the same way you earn them for the door, with food. Plus, inside you can find the first Legendary Weapon, so it is recommended.

"This is the deal. You perform an act of great evil in my sight, and I'll pop open."

One way to achieve this is to get 12 Chruchy Chicks.

Right now the only way you can buy them is from wandering traders, just keep going back and forth between Greatwood Entrance and Greatwood Lake, eventually a trader will have them.

Come back to the door with 12, eat them one at a time. This is were a lot of people screw up by just throwing the Chrucky Chicken onto a quick button and eating it all in 2 seconds. That does not work! You need to eat them slowly. There is about a 1-2 second delay after the evil points are given before you will get more evil points for eating another.

So, make sure you are standing infront of the door, eat one, wait, eat another, wait, eat another, etc. Try after 10, if he won't open, eat the last ones and try again. 12 is slightly more than you need but useful if you do eat one too soon and don't get the evil points. You only have to gain 50 evil points in front of him to open up, and if you mess up with just 10, you would have to do it all over again, so the extra 2 may save you a trip back to the traders.

Now, if you are trying to be a pure GOOD character, just buy 12 Tofu and eat them the same way after, it will be as if you never earned the EVIL points to get in.

Note that the door will also open if you're just plain evil already. It will not open if you just have skin-coloured horns, but it will open when you are nearly at full demon horns, so the required level of evil is somewhere inbetween.

There are a bunch of vines inside this place, as well as a chest.

Inside the chest you will find:

  • 1 x Wellow's Pickhammer

Greatwood Cullis Gate

Exit the Greatwood Gorge through the Greatwood Cullis Gate exit. For now ignore the Rose Cottage path and move to the lower left path on the mini-map that goes to the Greatwood Caves, its the left path on your screen.

Fishing Location 11 - Greatwood Cullis Gate

Right before the exit to the Greatwood Caves you will see a pond with a fishing hole, go ahead and fish.

You will find in this fishing hole:

  • 1 x Moonfish

Greatwood Caves

When you get into the Greatwood Caves area, there will be some vines on your right, go ahead and chop 'em down. You can find two items here. Also notice the Demon Door, for now it is difficult to open, just remember it is there and you can get back to it soon.

You can find these items on the ground:

  • 1 x Will Potion
  • 1 x Red Meat

Trader Escort

This can be either easy, very easy, or suck balls gay. If you are
doing this during the quest (as I am) you will not only have to
fight a small army of Hobbes, but you will still have to protect the
traders you are escorting, who believe they can fight these Hobbes.

So, if you don't want to do it yet, come back later and do it then.

Now, when you say yes, there will be 5 waves of Hobbes, each wave is
harder than the last.

Because you are able to have the "Wellow's Pickhammer" by this point
and because it is about the strongest weapon you can get for now, I
will use that and record the waves in difficulty by how many hits it

and come back to the door.

Make sure your health is full and eat away.

I personally just bougt what I could from the trader near the waters
edge here at Barrowfields. This is how much I ate and the door opened
up for me:

  8 x Red Meat
  10 x Fish
  12 x Apple Pies

(HE) Optional Quest: Hobbe Cave
"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
By this point you should be at the 3rd renown rank "Familiar" and that
will enable you to take the "Hobbe Cave" quest card. So, go to the
Heroes' Guild and grab the quest card. Make which ever boasts you feel
you will be able to accomplish and then warp to the Greatwood Cullis Gate
and then head to the upper left path on your mini-map, this will take
you to Rose Cottage and begin the quest.

Go to the house and open the door, you will get the Hexagon Key. Now,
go back to the Greatwood Cullis Gate, follow the path until the main
path and turn right, this takes you to the Greatwood Caves.

Take the path on the right that was (or still is) blocked by vines. Go
in the Hobbe Cave Entrance.

Go down the stairs and at the bottom, facing the stairs is a door, go in.

There is a bandit who has been captured, if you kill all the Hobbes, you
will have the choice of taking the Bandit with you, or leaving him there.

That choice will spark another choice later on, and possibly even another
choice after that, all within this quest though. If you choose not to
take him with you, you can kill him for 20 GOOD points.

Go back to the entrance area, head right and you will see a door on your
left, go in it when you've killed the Hobbes. On the ground is a potion,
I know that you don't have to get it now, but it gives you an excuse to
check out this room for future reference.

On the ground in this room you will find:
	  1 x Health Potion

Go back to the entrance area and head left down the stairs killing any
Hobbes on your way. Go in the door to enter the Main Chamber, kill the
Hobbes. There are 2 chests here that you can only get right now.

Inside the chests you will find:
	  1000 gold
	  1 x Flame Augmentation

Go out the other door into the Moonlit Tunnel, there is nothing here, so
just go straight for the door to the Focus Chamber.

Go down the stairs and you will meet a Nymph. If you have the bandit
with you still you can sacrifice him to save the boy, or you can just
kill the Nymph, or you can sacrifice the bandit, kill the Nymph and save
the bandit.

no bandit sacrifice, kill the Nymph - no GOOD/EVIL points
sacrifice bandit - 60 EVIL points
sacrifice bandit, then save the bandit - no extra GOOD/EVIL points

Once you've decided and done what you're going to do, go back up the
stairs, into the Moonlit Tunnel, through the Main Chamber and into the
Hobbe Cave Entrance, cut your way through the Hobbes and go up the
stairs into the light.

If your bandit friend is still with you, he will ask for his share of
the loot, if you give it to him, you loose cash... no GOOD points, no bad
points, nothing. But if you kill him, you earn 20 GOOD points.

Follow the kid back to Rose Cottage and talk to his Grandmother to
complete the quest.

	Beating this quest earns you:
	  5500 gold
	  400 renown
	  1 x Hobbe Head

Rose Cottage

item from the old woman's house will also earn you evil points.

a Red Rose, or a Box of Chocolates will do just fine.

If you don't happen to have either, just go out the exit, ussually you
can find 4 or more traders here, just keep going back and forth until you
find a trader with chocolates.

When you give it a gift, it will let you in where you will find a chest.

	  (SK10) Silver Key #10 - Focuse Chamber

(DD06) Demon Door #6 - Greatwood Caves
"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
At the Greatwood Caves is a demon door we've ignored until now, if you
have tried opening it, you may have found it to be difficult. But it is
time to open this bad boy.

"I need to see your Combat Multiplier get higher before I swing
	 ajar."

It says exactly what it wants to see. It wants you to talk to it when
you have a high combat multiplier. In this case, 14 or more. I do
remember my first time, how many 13's I had and just gave up....

Anyway, the easiest way to do this is to have physical shield for
starters, but that won't give you the high combat multiplier. There are
2 methods.

  1. Go into the Hobbe Cave, fight to the Main Chamber, kill all the
Hobbes in the Main Chamber, turn around and kill all the Hobbes on
your way through the Entrance and then enter the Greatwood Caves.
You will need to have an 18-20 multiplier when you leave, which
will give you a high enough one when you get out that when you
kill the enemies outside, you will hit 14.
  2. Be standing at Greatwood Caves, warp to Barrowfields (this will
set Greatwood Caves as a RECALL) and then go to Grey House. Here
you will find an empty house, enter it and undead appear. Kill
them and then go out of the house, there are now undead out here
too. Kill them all and you should have a 20 or more combat
multiplier, if not, just exit and re-enter the area and try again.
I prefer this way because there are no ranged Hobbes to screw you
over and the undead are slow and easy to dodge. If its not
undead at first just exit and leave the area.

Basically the 2nd option is for those of us not using Physical Shield,
but if you have it either way is incredibly easy, hell you could probably
beat up bandits and recall to do it, Physical Shield is so cheap.

When you talk to the door with a 14 or high combat multiplier on your
screen it will open up and you will find a chest.

Inside the Chest you will find:
	  1 x The Cutlass Bluetane

Grey House
""""""""""
In this area, you can find items inside the house, outside the house, and
none of it gives you EVIL points.

Inside the house you will find:
	  1 x Dusty Notebook
1 x Tallin Clan Leg Tattoo

When you beat these guys (perfectly) you will earn:
	  400 gold
	  100 renown

(CG) Side Quest: Coin Golf
""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
Coin Golf is one of the least efficent, time wise, games to play to earn
gold. You can find the same card player character at the Tavern and
bet your money to play this useless, but fun to play mini-game.

  Max bet = 1000

The underline concept is to get as low of a score as possible. I
serriously got hooked on this game when playing at a friends house, over
3 hours on it (didn't make much money at all really).

  ROUND	Target	BEST POSSIBLE
    1 2 1
    2 2 1
    3 2 1
    4 3 2

The above table shows your target shots per hole and the best you can
possibly get. I've gotten all those scores (not all in one round) so I
know it can be done, and you can theoretically score a 5, which I would
love to see, but for now....

To play, pull the joystick back (the opposite way of where you want the
penny to go) to where you want your power to be, hold it steady, make
sure you're aiming in the right spot, and then press "A". Don't try and
pull and release, this can serriously hold you back.

Round 1 - Aim left, at the tall skinny glass. You want to hit the
right side edge of the glass just right. Use 90% power at first
just to get your aim down. To get a hole in 1 you need to use
about 98% power, hit it just right and get VERY lucky. If it
doesn't go in on the first shot (which I doubt you will see for
a while) you will still be in an easy 2nd shot straight line.
Round 2 - Aim right of the big jug in the middle of the table, you will
see a beer mug, you want to hit it just right with a shot that
looks like it will miss the left side, but just barely hit the
edge of it. Use 80-90% power until you get your bearings, 100%
on a good shot will shoot it right through the hole and off the
table, I use about 95%. Again, if you don't get it in 1 shot,
you at least have a second easy shot.
Round 3 - Aim to the far left, in the great distance you will see a
skiny glass on the edge of the table. Hit it in the
middle-right side and you will quickly learn the spot to hit,
use 100% power and you'll probably get a lot of teasers just
outside the ring and start thinking it can't make it, when one
time it will. OF course, this hole provides on of the better
2nd shots, its so easy to get the aim down.
Round 4 - Aim to the right at the tall glass. You want to look very
carefully at the screen, you can see the 3d texturing has a
shadow on the inside edge (the far left of the base), if you hit
that area just right, with a 100% power shot, your penny can go
all the way down the table and even set you up for an easy 2nd
shot. Most of the time, this hole requires 3 shots (9/10 times)
and I do not see anyway of getting a hole in 1.

My personal best is 8.

When you score 11 or under you will get the special prize, a Whisper
Hero Doll, the 2nd in the doll collecting quest.

(2C) Side Quest: Collect the Hero Dolls 2

buy the upper most one.

Mecrinary #2
""""""""""""
Outside the entrance to the Memorial Gardens is the second mercinary.
This is a GOOD sided mercinary of average strength.

(TS) Side Quest: The Chapel of Skorm
""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
Go back to Darkwood Camp. From Darkwood camp you can go to the Chapel of
Skorm. Skorm is basically the devil and all the bad guys worship him.
So, this chapel is an evil place. Left of the chapel is a chest.

Inside the chest you will find:
	  1 x Assassin Shirt

Inside the chapel are two evil priests, you can kill them for GOOD points
or you can do their bidding for EVIL points.

If you wish to do their bidding you can earn prizes.

Prize 1: Gift of extended age (average of 8 years off your age)
Prize 2: Skorm's Bow (best ranged weapon in the game)
  Prize 3: Necromancer Title

To earn these prizes you must bring sacrifices. Sacrifices can be any
villager who is willing to follow you, mercinaries even your own wives.
This is the most complicated part of the game because it is never
consistant.

REMEMBER TO ALWAYS SAVE BEFORE MAKING SACRIFICES!

Although you can in theory get all the rewards at this point in the game,
it may not work for you. If you're EVIL, I can tell you right now, it
won't happen.

To get Skorm's Bow, you need to get at least 750 EVIL points from a
single sacrifice, if it is your first sacrifice it seems to be easier.

The gift of extended life and the Necromancer title can be earned by
getting 400 or more EVIL points per sacrifice AFTER getting Skorm's Bow.

So, to sum it up in 3 steps, this is what you have to do:

  1. Sacrifice someone for 750 or more EVIL points.
  2. Sacrifice someone for 400 or more EVIL points.
  3. Sacrifice someone for 400 or more EVIL points.

The more to the GOOD alignment you are, the easier this is. A level 5
GOOD character (over half way) who sacrifices the mercinary from Oakvale
at the right time of night (its unpredictable when the right time is)
will earn 800 GOOD points, a level 3 GOOD character at the right time of
night with the same mercinary will only earn 650-700 EVIL points.

It is best if you do this in only 3 sacrifices. If you simply can't get
it wait until later, I will comment on the chapel again.

Twinblade's Camp

OPTIONAL QUESTS AND ACTIVITIES:

	"The Clifftop Path"
	"Digging Location 12"

	"Spot The Addition"
	"Collect the Hero Dolls 3"
	"Mercinary #3"

(FS) Core Quest: Find the Bandit Seeress
""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
Go to the guild and take the quest card, boast and then head to Oakvale.

On the main beach is a little cave to "The Clifftop Path" enter it and
you'll be on the quest.

You need to sneak past the bandit's without being seen. BUT, if you have
a good enough bow and your accuracy is high enough, you can just one hit
kill each of the bandits and not have to worry about sneaking past them.

But, if you do have to sneak past them, use the right thumbstick click
to blow up your mini-map to know their locations and just play slowly.

Stand by the big rock hidden from the first bandit, watch for when the
second bandit moves down into the big open area, when he does this, the
first bandit should still have his back turned to the road. Run right to
where the second bandit was, when you see the bandit, keep him on the
other side of the rocks in the middle, just walk around these until you
can sneak past the third bandit, remember to always keep the second
bandit on the other side of objects so he can't see you.

This can be tricky, and very annoying, but you have to do it if you
can't one hit kill the bandits with your bow.

Once through the gate you will be in the Abandoned Road. Here you will
need to find the 5 pieces of the bandit outfit to continue.

Go along the path killing the bandits as you go (if you chose kill no
bandits, just run). At the first bend you will find the first chest.

Inside the chest you will find:
	  1 x Bandit Boots

Go up the hill and fight some more bandits. On the right by the base of
the watch tower is another chest.

Inside the chest you will find:
	  1 x Bandit Shirt

Turn around and go to the set of stairs, climb up and go right, you will
find a group of bandits by a fire, the third chest is also there.

Inside the chest you will find:
	  1 x Bandit Trousers

Turn around and go up the stairs on your right, follow the path and on
you right you will find the fourth chest.

Inside the chest you will find:
	  1 x Bandit Bandana

Continue on the path for a bit on your left you will find the last chest.

Inside the chest you will find:
	  1 x Bandit Gloves

Put on the entire outfit and continue along the path. You will find the
entrance to Twinblade's Camp. Go past the Cullis Gate and talk to the
bandit while wearing the complete bandit outfit. Once the gate is open
you can change back into what ever you want.

Go down the path, don't worry about these bandits, they won't attack you
unless you attack them first.

To get through the next gate you have to get a Camp Pass. There are a
couple ways you can get it.

  1. Buy it from the bandit who is the middle of the 3 green objective
markers on the lower left of your mini-map. It costs 1000 gold, but
you can kill the bandit after you buy it and get your 1000 gold back.
  2. You can play the Memory mini-game to win it for free. If you need
help with this mini-game go to [SP].
  3. Kill the memory game guy and he will drop the camp pass.
  4. Kill the bandit who would normally sell the camp pass to you.

With the pass in hand, go through the gate into Twinblade Elite's Camp.

Ok, here there is a gaurd who won't let you enter the Twinblade's Tent
area, so we have to find a way through. There are two ways of doing
this.

  1. Using your mini map, see the far left green objective markers, one
is moving to and from the other marker. If you got there, you will find
two women trapped in a cage. Kill the guard to get the key and then free
the women who will create a deversion that will gain you entry into
Twinblade's Tent.
  2. The three green objective markers on the bottom middle/right of
your mini-map, talk to the Assassin leader and pay him 2000 gold for them
to cause a deversion that will gain you entry to Twinblade's Tent.

Enter Twinblade's Tent area.

You will be thrown into a fight with the giant Twinblade.

Twinblade is very easy to beat, when you know how. If you think he is
invulnerable, just wait till he slams his swords into the ground and gets
them stuck. Run behind him and hit his back. That is how you kill him.

While he is not stuck in the ground, have your weapon put away and hold
"Y" while locked onto him, and just keep rolling until he sticks his
weapons in the ground, get behind him, bring out you weapon and hit him.
Assassin rush works very well here. Blocking his attacks do nothing.

Keep doing that until hes beaten. After the cutscene, you will be given
the choice to kill Twinblade, which means you have to fight all the other
bandits as well (just in this location) or walk away and let him live.
	GOOD = let him live
	EVIL = kill him

Either way brings the same result, quest beaten once you leave the area.

	Beating this quest earns you:
	  10,000 experience (from your sister)
	  4500 gold
	  1000 renown
	  1 x Bandit Seal

Twinblade's Tent

(SP) Side Quest: Spot The Addition
""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
Spot the addition can be found in Twinblade's Camp, under the large tent
at the bottom of the mini map.

  Max bet = 1000

To play you need to beat 5 rounds, each round starts with a set amount
of figurines, they are then covered up for a moment and shown again, in
a mixed up order, with a new figurine, you must select the new figurine.

  Round 1 = 3 starting figurines
  Round 2 = 4 starting figurines
  Round 3 = 5 starting figurines
  Round 4 = 6 starting figurines
  Round 5 = 7 starting figurines

With so many figurines to remember, and there being enough that you won't
be able to just look quickly and see which is missing BEFORE they add the
additional figurine, you will need to work on your actual memory skills.

For those of you who are big fans of cheating for tests, that is to say,
learning a lot of quick facts the night before, or right before the
exam just to know those facts for such a short period of time, that the
only practicle use for that studying is for a good mark on your exam -
you people should be naturally good at this game.

The way you beat this game is to look at each of the figurines and call
out their name, one after the other. These quick reference names are
a basic description and are easier to remember than the actual physical
form. If you try and play this game without naming the figurines, its
no different than going to work, school, or where ever without knowing
anyones name, once you know their names you can easily tell who is there
and who is, right?

So, here are the quick names I use:

Tree - the white flowery type of tree
  Fighter - the hobbe fighter
  Fish - the orange fish
  Wasp - the wasp
  Potion - the green bottle
  Dagger - the dagger
  Grave - the stone statue
  Skull - the skull statue
Boot - the boot like statue
Thing - the balverine head (its the balck fury type thing)
  Apple - the red apple
Mushroom - the small cluster of mushrooms
  Book - the book

Ok, so this is really pretty basic, but you need to know the items that
I listed above to be good at this game, because the more familar you
are with them, the faster you can do this.

Now, if you want to earn the special prize, you have to be 25 seconds.
That means you have a very limited amount of time to do each round in,
here are the target times (max, the faster the better) I use.

  Round 1 - 1.5 seconds or less
  Round 2 - 3.5 seconds or less
  Round 3 - 7 seconds or less
  Round 4 - 15 seconds or less
  Round 5 - 25 seconds or less

Now, thats about all I can say to beating it normally... if you want to
make it a whole lot easier, you CAN use slow time and play this mini-
game, which gives you far more time to remember and chose. I personally
have never needed slow time to earn the special prize.

My record time (without slow time) is 14.8 seconds.

Go straight, hack your way through the vines and keep going, you will
come to a corner... where you will meet your first Rock Troll. Fight
them the same way you do an Earth Troll, these guys just have way more
health, defence and attack power. This first one will drop two gems.
All the rest afterwards will drop one gem or a potion.

Move on through the area to the top right corner of the mini-map, this
will take you to the Witchwood Stones.

Nearly right away on your right you will find a Demon Door, talk to him.

	(DD07) Demon Door #7 - Witchwood Stones
	""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
In the Witchwood Stones area, the demon doors is on the right hand side
when you enter the area, this is a quest required door.

"I only open to those who know my name. If you know it, find and
hit the magic stones to spell it out."
"Only one person knows my name, but I doubt you'll find him.
Even at the Temple of Avo."

Hmmmm I wonder what we have to do? Lest try the Temple of Avo.

Continue on the path until you hit the split in the road, the left path
takes you to the stones you need to spell the doors name, it will also
eventually get you to the Temple of Avo, but the right path is a shorter
route to the Temple of Avo.

Right away there is a split in the road, go right and you will quickly
be at the Temple of Avo. Talk to the guy wandering around there who is
highlighted green and shows up on your mini-map (not the mercinary).

He will ask you straight up if you want to know the name of the Demon
Door. But the bastard wants an item, a shiny, expensive item. He
wants a bloody Ruby that jerk.
GOOD - give it to him and walk away.
EVIL - give it to him, kill him and take your Ruby back.

Now you know the Demon Door's name, so lets head back to the Witchwood
Stones area. Go down the right hand path to the stones. Hit them in
order to spell "HITS" you can examine the stones with the "A" button to
see what leter each stone represents.

If you spell "S" "H" "I" "T" the game will say it and the first time it
will also summon two Balverines.

You'll be brought automatically to the Demon Door, go on in and the
quest will be complete.

Witchwood Cavern - Demon Door #7

This is inside Demon Door #7, because it was a quest one... I decided

Inside the barrels you will find:

by like 6 guards.
GOOD - let the guy who tricked you live
EVIL - kill the bastard who tricked you

Either way you have to fight the guards, the ones in red are stronger

(TA) Side Quest: The Temple of Avo
""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
If you take the right hand path and go to the actual Temple of Avo, you
can find a chest on the right hand side of the entrance.

Inside the Chest you will find:
	  1 x Resurrection Phial

If you go inside the Temple of Avo, you can talk to the two priests who
tell you to give them money... I mean, give money in the name of god....
Anyway, just like the Chapel of Skorm, there are three rewards, each
requires a lot of gold, and is even more expensive if you are good.

Prize 1: Gift of youth (average of 8 years taken off your age)
  Prize 2: The Sentinus
  Prize 3: Paladin Title

The Temple of Avo is a lot easier to figure out than the Chapel of Skorm.
You just donate money and you get rewards.

NOTE: I highly recommend saving before donating gold, that way if you
don't get the reward you want or any reward at all, you can just
load and come back with more money.

If you're EVIL, donate around 33,000 - 35,000 gold and you should get
the The Sentinus. If you didn't get The Sentinus, reload and add 5000
gold to the amount you previously donated, repeat until you get it in one
donation. Then donate 5000 gold and you should get the gift of youth.
Then finally donate 1000 gold at a time until you get the Paladin title.
On average, a level 4 EVIL character (half way EVIL) will need 47,000
gold to get this reward.

If you're GOOD, donate around 48,000 - 50,000 gold and you should get
the Sentinus. If you didn't get the Sentinus, but you did get another
reward, reload and increase the donation you previously donated by 5000
and repeat until you get The Sentinus. Once you get the Sentinus, donate
5000 gold and then 1000 gold until you get the other two gifts. On
average a level 4 GOOD character will need 80,000 gold.

If you couldn't get the rewards at the Chapel of Skorm, you will be able
to get them now, as well as the rewards here at the Temple of Avo.

STARTING @ Level 3 or higher EVIL Alignment
  1. Donate 35,000 gold - The Sentinus
  2. Donate 5000 gold - the gift of youth
  3. Donate 1000 gold until you are rewarded - Paladin Title
  4. Donate 1000 gold at a time until level 3 or higher GOOD alignment

damage to open him up, a good enough bow with NO accuracy stats will
still open the door, and a bad bow with a high accuracy will also do it.

I opened him using the Oak Crossbow and level 5 accuracy stats.

(WB) Core Quest: White Balverine
""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
Go to the guild, grab the quest card, boast, you know the drill. Warp
to Knothole Glade, or if you didn't go their yet, Witchwood Cullis Gate
and then walk there. Either way, when you get there, the quest will be
activated and it will be time to rock.

There will be a single Balverine munching on a corpse when you arrive
and some innocent villagers at the gate.
EVIL - watch the balverine slaughter the villagers
EVIL - kill the villagers yourself
	GOOD - protect the villagers

Either way, you will have to kill the Balverine, then another will come
and another... and another, then you can go into Knothole Glade.

Right away you will have to fight the White Balverine, hit it 10 times
and it will run away. Go up the hill to the back of the town and it will
come back for another 10 hits. You'll then get a key to beating it.

From the woman you will get:
	  1 x Silver Augmentation

If you have the Sentinus or the Arken's Crossbow, you won't need to use
the Silver Augmentation on a crapy item to beat the Balverine, but if
you need to use it go for it. Once you've got your silver loaded weapon
up and running, hit the Balverine 5 times to make it run away again.

Now, leave Knothole Glade through the only exit at the north of your
mini-map, the White Balverine is just down the path.

Fight it for a little bit and once its health drops to 75% it calls for
back up and a normal Balverine comes. I recommend killing the normal
one before starting on the White Balverine again, because when the
White Balverine hits about 50% it calls for more back up again, this time
2 normal Balverines come. Again, I'd kill the normal ones first, the
White Balverine will call 3 more normal ones when you get it down to
below 25% health.

Once the White Balverine is dead, you get its head automatically and you
can head back to Knothole Glade to reap your reward.

Talk to the chief and the quest will be complete.

	Beating this quest earns you:
	  6200 gold
	  800 renown
	  1 x Theresa's Letter
	  1 x The Bloodline
	  1 x White Balverine Head

Knothole Glade

hits it takes for me to beat each opponent. The more strength you have
the less hits you will have to deliver to each opponent.

  Round 1: 15 hits
  Round 2: 15 hits
  Round 3: 15 hits
  Round 4: 15 hits
  Round 5: 15 hits
  Round 6: 15 hits
Round 7: 110 hits (I SHIT YOU NOT ONE HUNDRED AND TEN HITS!)

When you beat these guys (perfectly) you will earn:
	  650 gold
	  200 renown
	  1 x Fist Fighter Trophy

(CS) Side Quest: Card Sorting
"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
Inside the Tavern there is the ussual card mini-game guy who will let
you play card sorting.

  Max bet = 200

Yes, you can only bet 200 on this game, thats because if you use Slow
Time with this game, it is by far the easiest to win, but still... It
wouldn't be that much easier than Card Pairs is now.

Anyway, if you have no idea how to count, you're screwed. Cause thats
all you do in this game, is count lowest to highest. If there is a 9, 3,
King, 4 and Ace, you would click on them in the order of lowest to
highest, Ace's are low so it would be: Ace, 3, 4, 9, King.

Anyway, you have to go pretty fast, espeically early on. There are 7
rounds and you only have 35 seconds to do it in.

  Round 1 = 3 cards - you should be done by: 1.5
  Round 2 = 4 cards - you should be done by: 3.5
  Round 3 = 5 cards - you should be done by: 6.5
  Round 4 = 6 cards - you should be done by: 10
  Round 5 = 7 cards - you should be done by: 14
  Round 6 = 8 cards - you should be done by: 19
  Round 7 = 9 cards - you should be done by: 25

I can't really give much more advice than that.

Use the target times I listed and you can beat this game without Slow
Time, you can even beat the 25 second mark to earn the special prize
without having to use Slow Time.

My record time is 18 seconds flat without Slow Time.

So, now you should only have a 150 to start out to beat, which makes
getting the prizes here very easy. You can earn some rare and valuable
items simply by beating your high score by 1.

My all time best score is 634, now, if you went up 1 point at a time,
you could in theory get over 300 prizes, all of which are valuable.

Anyway, you know how to shot, you know how to play, beat your old high
score and get some rewards!

I will list the items you can get, if there is no quantity infront of
the item, it means you can keep getting more of them as a random reward.

A final note is that you can also just kill the game guy to get the
trophy and treasure clue... he doesn't come back.

Rewards for beating your own high scores:
100 renown (EVERY time you beat your high score)
	  (T3) Treasure Clue #4
	  1 x Silver Arrow Trophy
	  Jet
	  Emerald
	  Diamond
	  Sapphire

Consolation prizes (under, but close to your high score)
	  Health Potion
	  Chocolates
	  Moonfish
	  Tofu
	  Perfume
	  Golden Carrot
	  Crunchy Chick

(AF) Core Quest: Find the Archaeologist 2
"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
Take the quest card, boast, go to Bowerstone South.

At Bowerstone South, you can now go to Bowerstone North, so go towards
the tavern, but right before you get there you will see a large set of
stairs, go up and you will find the entrance to Bowerstone North.

Go left of the middle building and out the door to Bowerstone Jail. The
quest will begin here.

I don't like the name of this area 'Bowerstone Jail' there is no jail, it
is a path to a jail... anyway, sorry.

Ok, just go up the hill to the next area, the Windmill Hill. Follow the
main path there up the hill until you hit the red barrier, turn right and
you will find the Summoner to the right of the windmill, kill him to
lower the barrier to Gibbet Woods and enter the area.

Now, follow the path until you come to the split in the road, kill the
Rock Troll and go right, follow the path until you hit the Prision Path.

Here you will have to get to the Archaeologist within the 5 minute time
limit, but you will aslo have to kill all the Minions on your way. So,
rather than running to the dock, go down the path slowly, kill all the
Minions you encounter, because if you ran to the dock, you would then
have to fight a dozen or more minions at once.

Once all the minions are dead and you've rescued the Archaeologist, he
will tell you about an ancient path to the prison, the quest is finished.

"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
At Bowerstone North, talk to the mayor, Lady Grey.

The first step is to get her a present, so go to the Bowerstone North
shop, go to Gifts and at the bottom you will find a Black Rose, buy it.

Go give the Black Rose to Lady Grey.

You'll now need to have an empty house. You can own a house in any area,
all that matters is that it is not being rented out.

Now you need to talk to 4 people to discover where Lady Grey's necklace
is.

  1. From the Bowerstone South entrance, as soon as you enter, on your
	left is the first person.
  2. The second is in front of the door at the first house on your
	right.
  3. The next is inside the shop, the middle building.
  4. The last is in the upstairs part of the house on the right of the
	Bowerstone Jail exit.

Go back and talk to Lady Grey. Guess where you're going now? Oakvale.

Once you're in Oakvale, go to the right hand side of the mini-map, the
small path that goes up (behind the mercinary) goes to the Memorial
Gardens, go there.

There will be 2 thieves there, they are dressed up as traders, if you
stand near them they say nothing, go farther away and you can hear them
whispering. To find out what they are saying, go around to the other
side of the wall by going towards the big tree in the middle of the area
and going left around it, when you get to the first grave on the other
side of the wall, click and hold down the left thumbstick to sneak, go
right up to the wall and you will be able to hear where the necklace is.

They burried it back in Oakvale, go down to the main beach (left on the
mini-map), to the right of the dock is two ruined boats, dig between them
to find the necklace.

Go back to Bowerstone North and give Lady Grey the necklace.

She wants you to prove you're a better suiter than Thunder? Well, lets
go meet him at Bowerstone Jail. As soon as you enter the area, Thunder
challenges you.

Go to the Headman's Hill, its the left exit at Gibbet Woods.

Now, remember, Thunder is the former champion of the Arena, until you
came along he was possibly the greatest hero of the present time. So,
this is a test of your greatness.

Beat the crap out of him and he will knock you both over the cliff's
edge. Beat him some more and he will run away again!

There is a fishing hole here, you can never come back here, so get it!

Alright, right after rescuing the Archaeologist, you are given this quest
card, you need to go through Headman's Hill to get to the graveyard. If
you just finished the Find the Archaeologist and are still at the prison
path, just turn around and exit that area, which will take you to Gibbet

exploring, go from Bowerstone South, through Bowerstone North, then
Windmill Hill and you will be at Gibbet Woods, enter Headman's Hill and
pass right through it to get to the Lychfield Graveyard.

The quest begins once you enter the Lychfield Graveyard, as you go down
the path and near the bottom of the hill, you will see some stairs going
up on your right, this goes to a demon door, getting through that door is
the goal of this quest.

	(DD12) Demon Door #12 - Lychfield Graveyard

In the Lychfield Graveyard, this quest only demon door blocks

"Leave me alone, you organic pustule. I only open for
Nostro, the ancient guardian of the door. Not for you.
And not for that rancid gravekeeper.

Ok, to open this we will need to do some things and then come
	back to this door.

Go back to the main path and get to the bottom of the hill, on your right
is a Cullis Gate, to the left of it is a locked gate and some people, if
you go through the far left path before the Cullis Gate, you will find
the gravekeeper's house. Approach the house and talk to the gravekeeper,
he will open the locked gates for you.

Go through the gates, take the right hand side of the split, keep going
along that path until you hit a bridge, cross it and a little to the left
is a hill, go up and you will find a crypt, enter it and you will meet
the skeleton of Nostro. He asks you to find his weapon, shield, armour
and helmet.

You can see on your mini-map that all the items have been marked with a
green objective marker, but I like the sound of Nostro's voice, so I will
take you through this section piece by piece. Talk to Nostro's skeleton

""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
Ok, before you move on to rescue your mother you can do this quest, so go
to the Heroes' Guild, grab the card, boast and then head for Greatwood
Entrance, right before you enter the area a woman tells you about the
quest, enter Greatwood and the quest will begin.

Go up the path, kill the bandits, then follow the wall on your right
until you hit the exit to Fisher Creek. Save the guy by killing the five
bandits, then quickly head back to Greatwood Entrance.

Kill the bandits, then follow the wall on the right until you hit the
bridge, kill the bandit leader and go across the bridge and go through
the exit into Greatwood Lake.

Here there is a bandit leader threating a woman, kill the three normal
(or elite) bandits, then go up the hill until the bandit leader says
"Last chance or the broad gets it."

Shoot the bandit, he will attack you along with two other bandits, when
they are dead, the quest is complete.

(RS) Core Quest: Rescue Scarlet Robe
""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
After beating "The Gravyard Path" quest, the door to the Underground
Champer will be open at the Circle of the Dead, so head there and go into
the Underground Champer to start the quest. If you don't remember how
to get here... from the Lychfield Graveyard cullis gate, go through the
now open demon door to the Old Graveyard Path, the next exit is the
Cirlce of the Dead. Once there, enter the Underground Passage.

Go straight through the Underground Passage, enter the Underground
Tunnel. Go down the stairs and you will come to a fork in the road, you
will also notice that barriers have been erected and you're trapped, so
start killing those undead. After you kill about five undead, the red
barriers will drop, and you probably can't remember which door you came
in, let alone which of the other two you have to take, so use your
mini-map, its the lower right exit you want to get to. Also, if you did
not destroy the barrels, the door on the right of the barrels is the
path to the next area.

Enter the Cliffside Path. Follow the left hand side all the way until
you are on the other side of the mini-map, approach the door and some
more of our friends the red barriers will appear, along with some more
skeletons, kill them to lower the barriers. Now, if you go down the
lower path (left) you will find a hill in the middle of the lake, the
chest at the top is only there during this quest, once you get it, if
you get it, go through the door into the Underground Passage.

Inside the chest you will find:
	  1 x Sharpening Augmentation

You'll be up against some guards in close quarters, but slaughter em and
move down the path, then down the stairs, into the room with two exits,
take the path on the right. You'll enter a big room, after dealing with
the guards, go up the stairs on your left.

This is the Torture Chamber, your mother is here. After the cutscene,
open the door, she is automatically following you, so retrace your steps
back into the Underground Passage, down that set of stairs into the
room that forks out. Once you enter that room... ah man, why can't I go
down fighting... so, you're in prison now. This ends the quest....

(PE) Core Quest: Prison Escape
""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
In your cell, you'll over hear some of the stuff that goes on in the
prison, just wait and listen, then a guard will come and bring you out to
be raced like a dog.

This is very easy, I've actually seen people ask how you win though...
so I will go through this slowly.

First off, HOLD B TO RUN! Just always run, you have unlimited stamina!

So, go straight, at the guard turn right and follow the wall, you will
come to another guard, see the stairs on the left against the wall, go up
them, there will be another guard and another set of stairs on the right,
go up those too. Its a linear path to the next set of stairs, go up.

Now, here is where some people MAY get confused, go up the stairs and
there will be a guard, TURN LEFT! You'll enter a corner, go left again.
Go straight to the next corner, there is another guard, turn left.

Go straight, past the next guard, and then again another guard and then
you will hit another corner with another guard, turn left. Go straight
again, past another guard, into the final corner with yet another guard
and make your last left turn. Straight ahead is the warden, if you're
the first one there you win.

After the cutscenes and you're in his office, you need to get the key
out of one of the books on the table infront of you on your right. To
open them you need the code off the wall on the other side of the middle
bookshelves, which means you have to SNEAK behind the warden, to SNEAK,
you click the left thumbstick down and hold it down as you move.

SNEAK around the middle bookshelves, past the warden to the bulletin
board on the wall. There is a piece of paper marked with a glowing
marker, examine it to learn the code to open the books.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO REMEMBER THE CODE!

SNEAK back to the books, if you do get caught moving now, it doesn't
matter because he just kicks you back to the door. Anyway, examine any
of the books, I tried one, loaded my game, tried the next, loaded again
and tried the last, it is my understanding that you can't get the Key on
your first try... unless the key is randomly placed and I just got
unlucky. But, for the sake of this guide, you can't get it yet. So, let
us take check the book on the right.

So, you didn't get the key and you're going back to your cell right?
WRONG! You get to spend an entire year in the torture chamber (I wonder
where they put your mother?) and you do actually gain a year in age in
your profile statistics, your hair also grows out (man I wished it
took a year for my hair to grow that much, I'd save so much on hair cuts)
and you will do a little stretch and back to your cell with you.

This is the exact same thing as above, just wait, win the race, get back
to the wardens office and try to get the key again.

This time, you CAN get the key, for me it was in the middle book, twice
and when I checked the right book, I didn't get it. If you want to spend
another year in the torture chamber, go for it. If you want to spend
more than three years in prison, you would just have to lose the race or
not check any of the books in the wardens office and listen to his poem.

Anyway, once you have the key, you will be brought back to your cell.
You can open your door and make your escape.
GOOD - release the other prisoners and they will help you.
EVIL - kill the other prisoners and do escape on your own.

Leave the cell block, its time to get our equipment back. Once
in the courtyard, go up the steps from Cell Block Three, turn left and
head for the stairs you went up during the race, turn right and rather
than going up the stiars on the left, go past them and through the door
against the wall on the right. Inside this room, at the far back is a
chest.

Inside this chest you will find:
	  Your Missing Belongings

Once you got your stuff re-equiped, head back to the courtyard. Go back
down the stairs, take the door into the Torture Chamber and rescure your
mother again... now, enter the Underground Passage. People have seemed
to have problems keeping the mother alive while escaping, if you don't
have heal, use your best spells and attacks and kill the guards fast,
don't bother exploring, just get the hell out of there. You can also
tell your mother to wait, then kill the enemies ahead and come back for
her. You can also just run right through everything and get out the next
door without having to fight, do what ever you feel like, I'll guide you
out though.

Go down the stairs and you will encounter some guards, kill them while
protecting your mother. When they are dead, go down the stairs into the
room that forks out and go left, up the stairs and out the door.

Here, take the upper path on your right and follow it until you get to
the exit in the Underground Tunnel.

Follow the path until you hit the room that forks out, take the left door
and follow the path up the stairs and out the door.

In this... once empty room, you will find yourself locked in with some
giant swinging tenticles. I've seen people ask for help on this almost
as much as the White Balverine, so, here is how to do it.

IF YOU ARE PRIMARILY MELEE: Simply wait until a tenticle slams into the
ground and then hit the silver orb, dealing 500 damage or more will cause
a tenticle to go away (the 500 can be over multiple strikes). When all
four tenticles have gone away a big head will appear, you can hit it with
a melee weapon when it gets close enough, dodge its big attack and hit it
some more, repeat until it dissapears as well. Then the tenticles come
back, this time it takes 600 damage to get rid of the tenticles. When
the head comes back, it will be a littler more stingy on getting close to
you, but it will give you the chances you need to kill it.

IF YOU ARE PRIMARILY RANGED: Charge up your bow while moving around the
ring around the water, when a tenticle slams, shoot it with a full power
shot, if you have Arken's Crossbow or Skorm's Bow, this one hit will be
more than enough to knock the tenticle out of the picture, if not, you
need to deal at least 500 total damage to each tenticle. When all four
have gone away, a head will appear, beat it to hell with mid-full to full
powered shots while dodging its big attack. When the head disappears,
the tenticles will come back, get rid of them again, this time they need
to be hit with at least 600 damage to dissapear. The head will come back
again, beat it again like you did before. The last thing I will mention
is that you CAN hit the tenticles when they are virtical (you don't have
to wait for them to hit the ground) but the problem is you could miss,
and then not have enough time to hit them for 500 or 600 damage when they
are on the ground, so if you suck at shooting, wait till they hit the
ground, if not, just hit em when ever.

When the head is dead, collect the orbs and head out the lower door on
the mini-map to complete the quest.

(BX) Optional Quest: Bandit Spy Extraction
""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
After completing the escape from prison quest, you can go back to the
heroes guild and take this quest, boast and then head to Bowerstone North
where you will be able to meet Tanya, an undercover bandit operative.
She is near the exit to the Prison Path, talk to her and she will begin
the quest.

You can higher bandits to help you.

When you're ready, follow the path up to Windmill Hill.

At Windmill Hill there will be three sets of green objective markers on
your mini-map, I have always had the trader be in the set at the actual
windmill, depending on how you're playing this quest, if you're killing
everything or if you're not killing anything at all, or somewhere in
between, you will need to approach this in a different way. But the
trader you're extracting will always be highlighted green when you
approach him, the other traders turn blue.
GOOD - kill as little, or no guards and traders
EVIL - kill who ever you want

For not killing anything at all, I highly recommend using slow time, find
the trader you're extracting and then just run to the exit, don't bother
waiting for him, he will teleport to the next area with you. So run all
the way back to Bowerstone North to complete the quest. It is nearly
impossible to do this without slow time if you don't want to kill anyone.
If you don't have slow time, just let the traders get to Gibbet Woods and
then enter the area, talk to the trader you are to extract and then run
very quickly back too Windmill Hill and don't stop until you get to
Bowerstone North to complete the quest. This is so incredibly difficult
to accomplish because 24 out of 25 times the trader will die before you
can get to Bowerstone North, it serriously took me over 2 hours to see if
this was even possible to do without slow time and without hurting any
guards or traders.

If you're killing everything just kill everything on your way, traders
drop fixed items, so I'll list them. When you've gotten the trader you
need to extract, just go back to Bowerstone North to complete the quest.
If the trader gets to the Gibbet Woods exit, just enter that area and
there you will have one last chance to grab him.

Items you will find off the traders:
	  1 x Tofu
	  1 x Chrunchy Chick
	  1 x Moon Fish
	  1 x Golden Carrot
	  1 x Sharpening Augmentation
	  1 x Red Meat
	  1 x Health Potion
	  1 x Diamond
	  1 x Jet
	  1 x Fish (blue)
	  1 x Lightning Augmentation

Once you get the trader back to Bowerstone North, either through good or
evil, you will have accomplished the quest.

If you're having troubles with this quest, do not worry about it, it is
one of the harder quests because the stupid trader guy you have to bring
back is so stupid and just loves to die. I highly recommend slow time,
healing and at least 1 combat or offensive spell.

	Beating this quest earns you:
	  1 x Sharpening Augmentation
	  1 x Trader's Head

You're given this card right away after escaping from Bargat Prison, so
when you are ready just teleport to Barrow Fields. Enter Darkwood Weir
and cross through that area and enter the Ancient Cullis Gate area to
begin the quest.

Head to the quest marker on the mini-map by following the linear path.

Once there, just kill around ten undead to activate the cullis gate, the
number may be more, or it may be less, the satisfaction bar on the right
goes down at a slow rate when you're not killing undead.

You'll automatically be taken to Hook Coast when you've killed enough
undead.

Take the path down the hill from the cullis gate and head to the stairs,
at the bottom of the stairs head right. Just follow the path until you
find a set of stairs to the left of the last building on your right, go
up these stairs. Just keep going straight from the top of the stairs
until you enter a cutscene.

Teleport to the Heroes' Guild, you'll get a message from you're mother...
kinda, but anyway, head to Maze's town by following the red carpet down
into the bar area, then up the stairs on the right, from the top of the
stairs turn right, enter the tower straight ahead and turn right again

To play you move the coin left or right with the right thumbstick, when
you have it in the spot you want, press "A" to set the penny, then pull
the right thumbstick back to the right power and hold it there, then
press "A" to fire the penny.

If you hit an already placed penny, the contact will send the penny that
was hit in one direction, nearly stopped the penny you fired and can be
used to make up for a short shot, or to just add a new element to playing
the game.

To win you simply need to score more than 20 points, you can get a max
score of 40 by getting 4 ten's in a row.

To score a 10, hold the power back so that the tip of the arrow is just
barely below the green line of the 2 point section.

To score a 8, hold the power back so that the base of the arrow is right
on top of the green line of the 2 point section.

When you score 30 or more, you will earn a special prize.

Core Quest: Return to Hook Coast

Before you talk to the guild master and take the quest card, you better be ready to finish the game. You are at this point less than an hour from completion. There is the demon door and silver key chest in the guild grounds that you will NOT be able to get after taking this quest. So, when you're ready, take the quest card from the guild mast and teleport to Hook Coast.

Right away the quest will begin, go back to where the red barrier popped up. Down the hill, through the gate, down the stairs, turn right, go straight until you hit the stairs on the left of the last building on your right, at the top of the stairs go straight to the barrier.

You need to stand near the barrier for a bit while the guild master does his thing, the Screamers (the Banshee type monsters) that you fight here are highly resistant to physical damage, but spells rip through them.

Once the guild master finishes his chant, you'll be in a cutscene.

After the cutscene you'll be fighting your first truely tough boss.... Now, I'm saying that from the perspective of the characters I used for this guide, characters that only used about half the experience they gained, and NO WILL ABILITIES AT ALL!!!! So If you have spells, strength and skill, he won't be a problem at all. Just lay into him with everything you got.

After you do about 15-20% damage to him, he will teleport away from the little graveyard, back towards town. Chase him down and beat the crap out of him some more.

After he's down to nearly 50% health left, he will teleport again, this time down infront of the shops. Go after him again and show no mercy.

After a couple hits he will teleport again, this time he is on the second level of the light house, so break down the door and go after him again.

This time, when he is nearly dead, he will... teleport again, just outside of the lighthouse... this is the last time he will be able to run from you. When you finish him off... cutscene.

Core Quest: Try to Stop Jack of Blades

With Maze dead, teleport to the Heroes' Guild. The guild master will give you a little speech and then give you the quest card, walk onto the cullis gate right behind the guild master to begin the quest.

Just incase you never met her before in the game, the hero talking to you right away is Briar Rose, you can get a hero doll of her... she is one of the other heroes the guild has pumped out... anyway, after the cutscene you're in for a world of badies.

You absolutely do not have to rush in any way, you can not stop Jack of Blades here. So take your time, kill some skeletons and minions... or some aprentices and guards if thats your thing.

When you've had your fill of death at this location, go up the path to the focus stone. You'll be thrown into a cutscene and brought to Orchard Farm automatically.

Once there, again you can take your time and kill some more badies, you can't stop Jack of Blades yet, no matter how fast you are. When you're ready, take the middle left exit on your mini-map to go to Greatwood Lake where the next focus stone is. Kill some more badies and then approach the stone to end this scene and start the next.

Again, after the cutscene you'll be taken to the next area automatically again. In case you haven't figured it out yet, you can't stop Jack of Blades, so just take your time again and kill some shit on your way to the next stone.

So, inside the Hobbe Cave again, go down the stairs and follow the linear path to the end where the door to the Main Chamber is, enter it and again take your time, relax, kill some guys, move on to the next area, the Moonlit Tunnel.

Here you will meet our old friend Thunder, if you didn't do the Mayor's Invitation quest, I'll tell you right now, be glad the fate of the world isn't in that quys hands! Anyway kill and walk to the end of this linear path as well, in the Focus Chamber just go down the stairs to find Jack of Blades and enter another cutscene and go to the next area.

You'll be at Bowerstone Jail, so go up the path to Windmill Hill, killing what ever you wish on the way... still no rush. Again, just go through this area killing what ever, when you're ready, enter Gibbet woods.

Go along the path till it splits, take the path on the right, again killing what ever you want and taking as long as you want, Jack is patiently waiting for you and you simply can't stop him. So, when you're ready approach the focus stone to complete this quest.

Core Quest: Battle Jack of Blades

Ok, after the last focus stone you'll be brough back to the guild where you will find it in ruins and burning. You will also be given this quest card right away, so no worries there.

Anyway, right away there is an item on the ground beside you.

On the ground you will find: 1 x Health Potion

If you go up the stairs to the upper level of the guild, on the little balcony there is an item.

On the balcony you will find
1 x Resurrection Phial

If you go back down the stairs and go towards the shop, on the ground to the right of the door is an item.

On the ground you will find
1 x Health Potion

Head towards the library, you'll be thrown into a cutscene... the final quest has begun.

Enter the door to the right of the guild master, this is the guild caves. Half way down the path is a dead guy, search him to find an item.

On the corpse you will find
1 x Oak Longbow

Through the doors at the other end of the bridge... is the final battle.

After the cutscene... fight Jack of Blades.

The first part is pretty simple, kill his minions and his barrier will drop, then you get to show him your true power. Once he is down to 50% of his health he will run back to his little area and float up into the air. Now... what do you do, oh what do you do? Oh... wait, thats right, you have a bow, or you can use magic if you got it. Once he dies....

It is time to face your destiny... We have made many choices, we have done many things... we rescued our sister, we freed our mother, it all led up to this climatic event... do you sacrifice your sister for ultimate power over the world... or do you pass up the opportunity and allow your sister to live and bring ever lasting peace?

Everything has led up to this singular moment, all our choices, our accomplishments, everything has been a build up to this point in time... you will always be remembered for what you choose....

Okay, so the game is offically over. There are 4 different endings:

  1. GOOD alignment + kill your sister
  2. GOOD alignment + destroy the sword
  3. EVIL alignment + Kill your sister
  4. EVIL alignment + destroy the sword

The only different between them is the interaction with your sister, or her corpse, then a few lines of narration before the credits....

Now, these credits are about 20 minutes long, you 'can' skip them, but if you do skip them, you will be unable to play after you beat the game, you can reload your last save point and beat Jack of Blades aagin and then sit through the credits, but I'd just do it now and then save.

Once the credits are done, the quest is complete and the world is yours to explore.

Beating this quest earns you
1 x Jack's Mask
26,000 gold
20,000 renown

After the End of the game

With the game beaten, you're free to explore the world, complete any of the side quests you haven't yet beaten, do some fishing, level up your character, buy some houses, get married, drink, play games, get rich, do what ever you want.
