Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, also known in Japan as Castlevania: Nocturne in the Moonlight (Japanese: 悪魔城ドラキュラX月下の夜想曲, Akumajō Dracula X: Gekka no Yasōkyoku, lit. Dracula's Vampire Castle X: Nocturne in the Moonlight) is the metroidvania video game for PlayStation and Sega Saturn. Although the correct abbreviation would be CSN). It was the first Castlevania game released by Konami for the PlayStation and started the new style of Castlevania games known as "Metroidvanias", which were action-adventure games rather than traditional platformers. Symphony of the Night takes after Castlevania: Rondo of Blood and Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse at 5 years.
