The Godfather: The Game/Ranks

The Godfather: The Game has a Cosa Nostra style hierarchy system implemented, where the player starts off as an outsider and through missions and other activities climb the ranks to eventually become the Don of New York.

Outsider

You start off as an outsider, with very little ties to the family. There are no stripes and there's no Corleone logo at the top left HUD. You pay a very high percentage from your extorted rackets, businesses, warehouses etc and your respect multiplier is fairly low.

Enforcer

Also referred to as an "unofficial enforcer". You're starting off in the family, but you're still not connected yet to be associated with the family. You get a slightly higher percentage from your extorted rackets, businesses, warehouses etc and your respect multiplier is a little higher.

Associate

You work for the family now, but you're still not a member of it. By now your total intake has grown 10% from where you started off and you get a fairly better respect from different activities.

Associate rank is marked with 1 stripe in the HUD.

Made Man

You're now an official member of the Corleone's and you're tied to the Omerta for life. Total intake and respect multiplier have increased.

Made Man rank is marked with 2 stripes in the HUD.

Captain (caporegime)

You have been upped and you're now both a Capo and the right hand man of Michael Corleone. Total intake and respect multiplier have increased.

The rank of Capo is marked with 3 stripes in the HUD.

Underboss

Storyline missions have come to an end and as a token of trust and appreciation you're given the second most important position in the family. You're tasked with the final request of taking over all neighbourhoods, by blowing up enemy compounds. Total intake and respect multiplier have increased.

The rank of Underboss is marked with 4 stripes in the HUD.

Don

You've taken over New York and you're now a highly respected member of the family. So highly in fact that you're the head of it. Total intake and respect multiplier have increased.

The rank of Don is marked with 5 stripes in the HUD.

Don of NYC

You've done all the hits, taken over all or atleast near-all rackets, businesses, warehouses, compounds etc. You're respect is maxed out or almost maxed out. Everybody knows you and nobody dares to cross you. You're now the person running all Cosa Nostra activities in New York. The amount you used to pay for tribute (70%) as an outsider is now the amount you receive.

The rank of Don of NYC keeps you with 5 stripes.
