1. Smash up display cases and cash registers when a merchant needs more convincing.
2. Invert your camera controls in the OPTIONS menu.
3. The PUPPETEER HANDS above someone indicates they can be of some use to you.
4. Grab an enemy and use him as a shield if you're low on health.
5. If a racket boss already respects you, don't threaten him. If BUYOUT is an option, you'll earn maximum income.
6. Shooting in short bursts can improve your accuracy - especially with the Tommy Gun.
7. Plant bombs in both basements in a rival family's compound to take it out.
8. Bribe an FBI agent to bring down vendetta or stop a mob war.
9. Your HIT LIST targets don't always know they're in danger. You may be able to use surprise to your advantage.
10. If you complete the BONUS CONDITION of a contract hit, you'll earn big money and respect.
11. The color of a mobster's suit shows which family he's from.
12. Shoot destructible objects that your enemies hide behind to flush them out of cover.
13. Cycle through your weapons by pressing Left or Right on the directional pad.
14. Buy SAFEHOUSES in different neighborhoods to save your progress and restock your supplies.
15. Always use wall cover to look around corners before blindly running into a group of enemies.
16. The BARZINIS are the strongest of the four rival families.
17. Some Corleones will offer you contract hits against rival family members. Completing hits earns you respect and money.
18. You'll get a bigger cut of your extorted business income as you rise up through the Family ranks.

29. Each merchant has a weakness - try throwing them around, smashing up their store, or knocking out customers.
30. When you see a roadblock, chances are there is a RACKET WAREHOUSE nearby.

50. Bomb a rival family's COMPOUND and they lose control of their neighborhoods.
51. Bribe corrupt cops to keep them off your back for a while.
52. Taking over a front will reveal other fronts used in that racket. Make sure to take over all fronts to steal power from your rivals.
53. The Corleones will receive a percentage of your payday income - but you'll earn more as you climb the ranks.
54. The handbrake is perfect for power sliding around corners.
55. Bribed cops might even help you out in a fight against rival mobsters.
56. Find and takeover RACKET WAREHOUSES for serious cash - but be ready for a big fight.
57. When being pursued in your car, shake your chasers with high-speed cornering.

67. Exploding cars can be a powerful weapon if you're quick and careful.
68. Telephones can be found in hotels, clubs, and safe houses.
69. Crew members can be hired in every neighborhood. Look for the crew icon on your map.

71. When taking over a warehouse or a compound, hire a CREW MEMBER for some extra muscle.

83. Killing innocent workers inside rackets raises your HEAT level.

85. Find a doc to restore your health...for a price.
86. High-ranking mobsters can't be grabbed at full health, so beat them down before trying.
87. Sneak up behind people and strangle them using the GARROTE before they have a chance to call for help!
88. Racket bosses will pay you more money, depending on how much pressure you apply.
89. Use a POWER ATTACK to break through an enemy's block.
90. If you kill a Racket Boss, you won't be able to get money from that racket.
91. For weapon upgrades and ammo, find the BLACK MARKET MERCHANTS using your MAP in the Pause Menu.
92. For increased firearm accuracy, wait for your spread to shrink to its smallest size.
93. Don't forget to upgrade your SKILLS as you earn more respect.

95. Use traffic as cover instead of standing in the open.
96. Killing rival mobsters, extorting businesses, and taking over rackets will earn you respect from the Family.
97. You can retry CONTRACT HITS if you miss the bonus condition the first time around.
98. Doing a FAVOR for a Corleone is a great way to earn respect with the Family.
99. During a MOB WAR, your businesses will be repeatedly bombed until the war ends.
100. Eliminate a rival family by taking over all of its businesses and blowing up its compound.
101. Stores will close if the shopkeeper dies, or if the building is bombed.
102. BUYOUT racket bosses by talking to them first. Have enough cash and they'll make it worth your while.
103. Before extorting a business, take care of any rival family guards outside.
104. Every merchant has a WEAK SPOT. Find the weak spot to guarantee a maximum payout!
105. Some merchants may ask you for a FAVOR. Help them out, and you'll be richly rewarded.
106. Smashing up a store is a great way to intimidate a merchant.
107. Find BLACK MARKET MERCHANTS to buy ammo, weapon upgrades, molotov cocktails, and bombs.
108. Banks have lots of cash for the taking if you have dynamite for the vault and aren't afraid of cops.
109. Find the BLACK MARKET MERCHANT who sells BOMBS. They're handy during mob wars.
110. Use the threat of a POWER ATTACK to intimidate business owners.
111. Visit a TAILOR or BARBER to purchase a new look from the Mob Face menu!

Police and HEAT

1. Bribe a police chief to bring down the HEAT level in a neighborhood.
2. When you break the law, your HEAT level increases.
3. Killing civilians will raise your HEAT and gets the cops all over you. Only kill when you have to.
4. HEAT levels are unique for each neighborhood. If your heat gets too high, try driving to a different neighborhood and hide out.
5. Once you bribe a cop, the BRIBE TIMER will show how long the police will be friendly to you.

Controls

1. Tap (handbrake) to maintain speed around corners.
2. Press to crouch and take cover behind low objects.
3. To throw Molotov cocktails around a corner or in FREE-AIM pull .
4. To switch targets, release then pull and hold it again.
5. THROW: While grabbing someone, move left or right then release while swinging.
6. STRANGLE: While grabbing, click and hold and .
7. While grabbing, move up to smash someone into nearby walls.
8. POWER ATTACK: While locked-on, move down then up.
9. THROW MOLOTOV: Move back then move forward to let it fly.
10. Hold to lock-on to a target while in FREE-AIM.
11. Moving to aim at different pressure points on a person's body could disarm or immobilize them.
12. Moving in different directions will do different melee attacks. Try stringing different attacks together for powerful combos.
13. Crew members can shoot from cars by pressing or .
14. During combat, move in different directions to throw special attacks and combos.
15. Press to grab BOTTLES. Throw them at enemies to stun them.
16. Free-Aim then move to point your gun in any direction. Use this mode to shoot objects that you can't target-lock.
17. Pull to drop equipped BOMBS and DYNAMITE on the ground instead of throwing.
18. When locked-on with a gun, double-tap in the direction you would like to change your target.
19. While grabbing, move left or right to slam him into nearby low objects.
20. Hold while running to sprint.
21. If you can't find any parked cars, press to hijack cars as well - just watch out for cops.
