Empire vs Soviets

When fighting soviets you want to take into account that the Empire's strongest, most flexible and powerful units will be rendered almost pointless. The best tactic would be to establish some basic energy supply, followed by a barracks, and 2-3 ore miners. You may want to establish 2 small defense towers, and then rush to try to keep buildings and your army to a minimum and get robotic angels as soon as possible. This however, is almost pointless due to the fact that the Soviets have many mobile and very good methods of picking them out of the skies.

What you want to do is build a mechanized armor factory and build some light tanks that can also move over water and heavy terrain. Use these to scout ahead of your robotic angels, letting them clear any anti-air before you advance with them, and if possible, don't show your enemy that you even have them. Make him specialize against ground units, and then take him by surprise. If this method fails, don't be shy about falling back and regrouping. Try different angels, marching the small tanks from the opposite direction. If you do this, make sure to use the heavily overpowered hero unit to get rid of any obstacle. Used correctly, you can destroy an entire base using only her.

If you are finding that the enemy is adapting to your tactic, switch to ground units, upgrade your mech production to the final stage, and build the heavy tanks. Still produce some robotic angels; they will keep you safe from any surprise air attacks and will provide a good base defense/attack unit anywhere on the map due to their fast "walking/gliding" phase.

By now the Soviets will counteract with some heavy tanks to fight your heavy tanks, and anti-air units to make sure your robotic angels don't kill them while they try to run away. Now is the time to decide the battle. Make sure you use 90% of your army that you have hopefully been building up while counteracting all of your opponent's attacks as the front line shifts forwards and backwards. Don't wait until you've won a small battle to attack; move as soon as you see another small wave heading towards the front line as this will be far more unexpected.

Undoubtedly your opponent will also have a good defense by this stage, and as soon as he sees that you are attacking his fortress with such a force, he will either attack you thinking you are attacking with your full strength, or he will pull the troops back from the front line to help his base. This is the most important part when playing against Soviets. Unless you are playing against a truly skilled player, he will simply command all units back to base. That means anti-air units (moving much faster) will get separated from the heavy tanks. Use your remaining 10% to crush these as they desperately try to fall back. This should give you the edge you need to win the battle (or at least damage his base to a degree where he will have to spend a lot of resources). This will allow you to gain the upper hand and an almost certain victory.

If your opponent thinks that you are going all out, make sure you have a base defense that can handle at least 10 heavy tanks (should be around 3 heavy and 3 light towers to make it with ease). Then finish them off while having an easier battle at your opponent's base, again, hopefully gaining the upper hand and claiming victory. However, if you fail doing any damage with 90% of your army, like you used the wrong units against his units, you will find yourself in deep trouble. But, all you have to do is build the hero and you should be fine while you rebuild.

The sudden transport can be disguised as an enemy unit. Throw a bunch of engineers in it, or a Tanya/Natasha, and take it on a full frontal assault to the enemy base. Once the enemy is engaged, disguise it as an enemy unit and take it into the enemy base. Dump your engineers or Tanya and take out their construction yard and armor production, effectively ending them.
