Ken arrived in the Marvel Universe, along with several other street fighters, to find that his powers have been augmented as a result of the differences between universes.  Interested in this new power, he was anxious to test the limits of his abilities.  In [[X-Men vs. Street Fighter]], he found that his Shoryuken was even more powerful then before.  And the added height that he could achieve during a jump gave him enough time to perform Hadouken's in mid-air, which he trained at his opponents who were down below on the ground.  But his Hadoukens were no more spectacular than before.  After witnessing Ryu, and the tremendous size that Ryu's Hadoukens could reach, Ken decided to train harder and focus more of his ki into his Hadoukens as well.

When Ken returned in [[Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter]], Ken had improved in a number of ways.  His Hadoukens did in fact increase in size, but as a result, they lost quite a lot of their range.  While Ken could focus more ki into each one, they dissipated before they could reach opponents who stood far away.  He also improved his Shoryuken so that all versions could burn opponents, not just the strongest one.  He changed the way he performed the Tatsumaki Senpukyaku so that it lifted him off the ground as he performed it.  And lastly, he worked his newest Hyper Combo, the Shippuujinrai Kyaku, into his battle repertoire.

In [[Marvel vs. Capcom]], Ken's presence is replaced by "Complete Change" Ryu, who has the ability to invoke the fighting spirit of Ken and Akuma during a match.  He returns as a contestant in [[Marvel vs. Capcom 2]] with all of his previous improvements, and the ability to perform his escape roll.

Every Street Fighter experienced the journey into the Marvel Universe in a different way.  Some have vivid memories of the entire thing, while others can remember only bits and pieces.  In Ken's case, he believed that it was, for the most part, only a dream.  When others ask him about it, he laughs because he can't believe that they really think it happened.
