==The Spring==
In Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, Lavaridge Town is where you can win the fourth Badge. The town is in a volcanic region and is famous for saunas that contain spring water. A woman near the spring will give you an Egg that hatches about two hours later into a {{bp|Wynaut}}.
To enter the hot spring, you need to enter the Pokémon Center and use the door in the top left of the room. While you're there, use your Itemfinder in the water and you'll find an {{bp|Ice Heal}}.
A woman just outside the spring will give you an Egg if you want. If you carry it in your party for 5355 steps, it hatches later into a {{bp|Wynaut}} (and is the only way outside of trading to obtain it).

Don't buy too many of them, because if you keep feeding your Pokémon bitter items, its love for you will wane (unless you're getting TM21 Frustration). Talk to everyone in the shop. You will get a Charcoal, a hold item, that raises the power of Fire-type moves.

==Pokémon Gym #4==
This Gym's specialty is Fire Pokémon, so you will want to have Water-, Ground-, or Rock-type Pokémon at the ready. The Gym has a bathhouse layout with holes that makes players fall down and steam geysers that send players up a level. To reach Flannery, you have to go through the correct series of water-holes.

Lavaridge Town

A small, peaceful village, Lavaridge Town has more to offer than it looks. With a hot spring, herb shop, and Gym, it should become a frequent stop on your journeys.

The Spring[edit]

To enter the hot spring, you need to enter the Pokémon Center and use the door in the top left of the room. While you're there, use your Itemfinder in the water and you'll find an Ice Heal. A woman just outside the spring will give you an Egg if you want. If you carry it in your party for 5355 steps, it hatches later into a Wynaut (and is the only way outside of trading to obtain it).

The Herb Shop[edit]

This shop is the first house east of the Gym. It sells a small range of herbs that are very effective, although don't buy too many of them, because if you keep feeding your Pokémon bitter items, its love for you will wane. Talk to a man in the shop and he will give you Charcoal, a hold item that raises the power of Fire-type moves. In the second house east of the gym is a little girl in there that will teach one of your Pokémon the move Mimic, which copies the move that the enemy Pokémon does. She'll only teach it once, however, so pick wisely!

After defeating Flannery, she will award you with the Heat Badge and also TM50 Overheat. Outside, you will meet your rival and they will give you the Go-Goggles which protect your eyes enough to allow you to enter deserts.

With this, you have finally become strong enough to be considered worthy of a battle by your father. Return to Petalburg City to continue the story. You have quite a long trek to get there though, with the easiest route being to head back to Rustboro City via Mauville City, Verdanturf Town, and then Rusturf Tunnel. From Rustboro, journey south through Petalburg Woods to reach Petalburg City. It is mandatory to complete the Gym before moving on to Eastern Hoenn, via Route 118.

Items[edit]

  • Ice Heal - In the hot spring (Hidden)
  • Charcoal - Obtained from a man inside the Herb Shop
  • Nugget - On the second ledge back down to Route 112
