'''''Mahogany Town is a small town between Routes #42 and #43. At first glance it will not seem like much, but just wait until you meet Lance a little down the road at the Lake of Rage. You will discover that this town is actually the new home to one of Team Rockets newest schemes.'''''
'''''You will run into a number of oddities and road blocks when you first wander into Mahogany Town. You won't be able to enter the Gym or Route 44. The Pokémon Mart is selling really strange items, and there's a rumor that a red Gyrados has appeared at the Lake of Rage.'''''
Something's wrong in Mahogany, and it shouldn't take three guesses to figure out who's to blame. Team Rocket has the Gym blocked, and the path to Route 44 shut down. The guy who blocks you way will offer to sell you a Ragecandybar for [[File:Pokebuck.png]]300. Ragecandybars heal 20HP, just like a standard Potion, except that it may also improve your Pokémon's happiness as well.
==Candy that's all the Rage==
No matter how many you buy, the guy won't let you pass. He won't leave until you defeat Mahogany Town's Gym Leader and solve the Goldenrod Radio Station dilemma. That leaves you no choice but to head north to {{~|Route 43}} and the {{~|Lake of Rage}}.
The path to the right is blocked by a man who is selling Rage Candy Bars. They cost [[File:Pokebuck.png]]300 and heal 20HP, the same as a standard Potion. The only real benefit here is the increased likelihood that your Pokémon will be more happy with you. It will be temporarily sold out after the {{bp|Red Gyarados}} has been taken care of, but available once again after you defeat Team Rocket for good at the Radio Tower in Goldenrod, after which they are sold by the town's shop.
==Rocket Hideout==
In order to do anything in this small town you will have to go to The Lake of Rage, and talk to Lance who is standing by a sign post. Once you talk to him, follow him to the house with the sign post back in Mahogany Town. It's actually a shop but you won't really be able to get anything until you defeat Team Rocket.
Go into the shop and Lance will be waiting impatiently for you there, then he will open stairs that lead to Team Rocket's underground hideout. There you two will split up and try to stop what ever is making the radio noise causing the Gyarados frenzy.
===Level 1===
You have two options once you go down the stairs, but first you will have to battle as soon as you pass the first sculpture. Each sculpture is a "hidden camera" when ever you pass one for the first time two rocket members will come out of no where at the same time. After you pass the first one, you can continue all the way to the left then down passed the striped tiles to a stair case next to a warp tile (the warp tile with just take you back to the entrance). These tiles contain ~6 wild Pokemon. Alternatively, you can turn in to the hall just before the second statue. You can avoid the rest of the statues by making it to the shut off switch located on the computer, then avoid the striped tiles by turning right out of the computer room and following that path. But if you want more money and experience points just keep walking in front of the cameras and say cheese!
Upon reaching the second level, Lance will be waiting for you to heal all of your Pokemon. On this floor you will see a path with a locked doorway, behind the door way is the power supply for the radio signal, but you will have to keep walking past it and up the stairs to get to the boss's office. Once you are done up stairs then return to this door. Once inside you will meet back up with Lance and a few Rocket members. The two of you will have to battle the {{bp|Electrode}} that are providing the power. Here you will have 3 chances to catch 1 so be sure to save.

== A very unusual item shop ==
On this floor you will finally make it to the boss's office. You will need the two passwords to get in, but don't think you can get by without having fought the Rocket members just because you've read what they are. There's no annoying letter entering here, your character will have to know the passwords to open the door. Once you defeated the boss talk to his bird, it will tell you another password.
Instead of the usual staples, the item shop in town sells odd items like Tinymushrooms and Slowpoketails. Both of these items have no real use (they can be resold for the same price), and the shop will revert to a normal store when all of this Team Rocket madness has been cleared up.
You will run into a number of oddities and road blocks when you first wander into Mahogany Town. You won't be able to enter the Gym or Route 44. The Pokémon Mart is selling really strange items, and there's a rumor that a red Gyrados has appeared at the Lake of Rage.

A very unusual item shop

This gym is unavailable to you until you've run Team Rocket out of town. There are five trainers total, and the floor is slippery, since it's made of ice. In order to get to Pryce you will have to skate your way through a labyrinth. The key is to step on the slippery ice blocks facing the direction you want to go and there are two ways to stop. One way is to land on one of the metal tiles, and the other is to run into a wall.
Of course there is always a way to avoid fighting all trainers, but since ice is an element you haven't really had to come up against it's a good idea to fight them anyways. There's a lot of money and great experience points waiting for you. Just remember to save and save again.
Because Pryce uses Ice type Pokémon you should use Fire type. If you started off with Cyndaquil, that's great! If not, hopefully you've picked up a Growlithe on either Routes 36 or 37. Fighting, Rock and Steel all work equally as well against ice, but when frozen using a fire type move will unfreeze your Pokémon immediately. Also keep in mind and most of them are dual type Pokémon so if yo don't have a full fledged army or Fire type, a few good Grass do well against Swinub, Shellder, Cloyster, Seel and Dewgong, while Jynx is also weak against Ghost and Rock type.
After defeating Pryce he will give you Glacier Badge and TM 16 - Icy Wind. Icy Wind inflicts damage and then lowers the target's Speed stat by one stage. It will hit both opposing Pokémon in a double battle.
