This is probably the biggest town in the game. There are a lot of buildings here, Mr. Psychic's House, Silph Co., the Gym and Copycat's House.

also in the town you can start the copycat magnet train sidequest. first go to the powerplant (route 10 outside rock tunnel) then go to the cerulean city gym and search the water for the machine part. After obtaining the machine part go back to the power plant and talk to the fat manager in the far east of the power plant. After returning the part go to Saffron city, in the upper middle row of houses you will find a house with a red ribbonned women infront of it. go into the house infront of her, and talk to the green ribbonned lady inside. go upstairs and talk to copycat she will tell you that her doll is missing (if you do not fix the powerplant she will just mimic you. SO MAKE SURE YOU DO THE ABOVE FIRST!). go to Vermillion city fan club and talk to the portley person next to the clefairy doll and he will give you a doll. finally head back to the copycat's house and talk to her. she will give you the magnet train pass.
