Shiny | Shiny Pokémon are different colored Pokémon, the chance of getting them is small though, being 1 in 8192. when you reach the lake of rage, you will battle a shiny Gyarados, which is red rather than its original blue, for example. Their appearance in the game is nought more than for fun, and people usually see one shiny in the wild per cartridge, so unless you're facing a stationary Pokémon, don't expect to find a shiny varsion of it, and even to get a shiny from a stationary pokémon, the time can range from a few minutes to a few months. There is one exception, in Crystal, you will get an egg from the Day Care Centre, it will be a baby form of a Pokémon (Pichu, Smoochum, Cleffa, Tyrogue, Iglybuff and Magby) and it has 1/8 chance of being shiny | ||
