Mahogany Town is a small town between Routes #42 and #43. At first glance it will not seem like much, but just wait until you meet Lance a little down the road at the Lake of Rage. You will discover that this town is actually the new home to one of Team Rockets newest schemes.

Candy that's all the Rage

The path to the right is blocked by a man who is selling Rage Candy Bars. They cost File:Pokébuck.png300 and heals 20HP, the same as a standard Potion. The only real benefit here is that the likely hood of you Pokémon will be more happy with you. It will be temporarily sold out after the Red Gyarados has been taken care of, but available once again after you defeat Team Rocket for good at the Radio Tower in Goldenrod, after which they are sold by the town's shop.

Rocket Hideout

In order to do anything in this small town you will have to go to The Lake of Rage, and talk to Lance who is standing by a sign post. Once you talk to him, follow him to the house with the sign post next to him. It's actually a shop but you won't really be able to get anything until you defeat Team Rocket.

Go into the shop and Lance will be waiting impatiently for you there, then he will open stairs that lead to Team Rocket's underground hideout. There you two will split up and try to stop what ever is making the radio noise causing the Gyrados frenzy.

Level 1

You have two options once you go down the stairs, but first you will have to battle as soon as you pass the first sculpture. Each sculpture is a "hidden camera" when ever you pass one for the first time two rocket members will come out of no where at the same time. After you pass the first one, you can either continue all the way to the left then down passed he striped tiles to a stair case next to a warp tile (the warp tile with just talk you back to the entrance) OR you can turn in to the hall just before the second statue. You can avoid the rest of the statues by making it to the shut off switch located on the computer. But if you want more money and experience points just keep walking in front of the cameras and sat cheese!

This gym is unavailable to you until you've run Team Rocket out of town. There are 5 trainers total, and the florr is as slipper as... well as ice! In order to get to Pryce you will have to skate your way through a labyrinth. The key is to step on the slippery ice blocks facing the direction you want to go and there are two ways to stop. One way is to land on one of the metal tiles, and the other is to run into a wall.

Of coarse there is always a way to avoid fighting all trainers, but since ice is an element you haven't really had to come up against it's a good idea to fight them anyways. There's a lot of money and great experience points waiting for you. Just remember to save and save again.

Because Pryce uses Ice type Pokémon you should use Fire type. If you started off with Cyndaquil the great! If not hopefully you've picked up a Growlithe on either Routes 36 or 37. Fighting, Rock and Steel all work equally as well against ice, but when frozen using a fire type move will unfreeze your Pokémon immediately. Also keep in mind and most of them are dual type Pokémon so if yo don't have a full fledged army or Fire type, a few good Grass do well against Swinub, Shellder, Cloyster, Seel and Dewgong, while Jynx is also weak against Ghost and Rock type.

After defeating Pryce he will give you Glacier Badge and TM 16 - Icy Wind. Icy Wind inflicts damage and then lowers the target's Speed stat by one stage. It will hit both opposing Pokémon in a double battle.
