Revision as of 03:44, 19 January 2019

In this section, you shall:

  • Awaken inside of the Peragus Mining Facility and regain your bearings
  • Discover new allies as the player character that you generated
  • Explore the ruined facility and defend yourself from its rogue mining droids

Introduction

Following the scuttling of the Ebon Hawk, T3-M4 and 3C-FD had managed to repair the Ebon Hawk and begin an emergency docking procedure with the Peragus II mining facility before an unwelcome stowaway returned to attack the droid duo. Despite this, the freighter managed to dock successfully and the miners managed to retrieve you in time to offer the medical help that you desperately needed. After an unknown amount of time has passed, you awaken to the sound of a peculiar voice alone in the medical bay, at full strength but completely without knowledge or gear - all that you have on is the underthings that you last wore.

Not only that, but as you explore the ruinous compound it seems that time may have passed along a lot faster than you had first expected: the facility seems abandoned, and there are renegade droids which appear to have killed many of the mine's personnel. You need to find help and some equipment before anything worse happens next.

Kolto Tank

You gain control of the player character in the center of the medbay. Tooltips advising basic gameplay features appear as you branch out from here, which can be disabled in the options menu if you do not need the help. You also get a pop-up as you leave the room.

Immersion in kolto tanks can heal most wounds. If you have lost Vitality Points during your explorations, return here to the medical bay and use the empty kolto tank behind you to heal your wounds.

As described, you can go back and interact with the now-empty kolto tank, which restores your health.

Dialog
Kolto Tank: [This is the kolto tank you emerged from. Do you wish to heal yourself?]
1. Enter the tank. 2. Leave the tank alone.
Kolto Tank: Your wounds have been healed.

You may also get another tooltip after running around for a bit.

You can use the mouse to select eligible targets. While in combat, only hostiles will be targetable.

After opening the first two doors, you'll come across the main hallway connecting the medical bay (left door) and the morgue (first right door). Ahead is a sealed door which is stuck closed due to the extreme damage of the inner facility. The door to the morgue is initially locked, so you'll need to go through the medical bay first.

Medical Bay

Going through the leftmost door leads you to the Peragus Medical Bay. There is a Lab Station here to make medical items with the found chemicals if you took points in Treat Injury, but only medkits will be useful to you at this point in time.

If you try to go through the other door in this room...

[This heavily fortified door cannot be bashed open. Perhaps a nearby console can open it.]

As the game hints, you need to interact with the aforementioned console to progress further.

5. Log out.

This terminates your interaction with the computer. Otherwise, you have several options, the first three providing backstory about what may have happened on this facility...

In each of the medical logs, a hologram of who appears to be the facility's medical officer appears.

1. Access medical logs.
Medical Computer:
- Log 253-12 [3 Days Ago]
- Log 253-15 [2 Days Ago]
- Log 253-18 [1 Day Ago]
1. Access Log 253-12.
Medical Officer: "...still examining the survivors of the damaged freighter - looks like it goes by the name of the Ebon Hawk."
Medical Officer: "Only one survivor, placed in the kolto tank for recovery. The carbon scoring on the vessel suggests it was in a battle, but no indication of who fired on it...."
Medical Officer: "...couldn't get much from the navicomputer, I'm surprised the ship was able to make it inside the Peragus asteroid field without the asteroid drift charts."
Medical Officer: "Aside from the lone survivor, we recovered an old woman, no life signs. There was also a protocol droid and a utility droid on board - sent both down to maintenance while security sorts through the other items on the ship."
Medical Officer: "It looks like the utility droid - a T3 unit - was able to get the ship working enough to get to the colony. We're prepared to..." [Holorecord ends in static.]
2. Access Log 253-15.
Medical Officer: "...could be a Jedi, but we won't know for sure until we get the transmission back from the Republic. If the survivor is a Jedi, that would account for the recovery rate..."
Medical Officer: "...but I'm more concerned that a Jedi here may cause trouble, some of the miners, especially Coorta, are already st-" [Holorecord breaks into static.]
Medical Officer: "...another accident today, a detonation in the ventilation tunnels... if the lockdown measures hadn't activated, the whole facility would have been destroyed."
Medical Officer: "Got most of the injured to the kolto tanks in time - but the rest had to go to the morgue. One of the wounded said a droid caused the accident, but we couldn't get any specifics..."
3. Access Log 253-18.
Medical Officer: "...miners about the Jedi, a number of the droids have been acting oddly, and not even memory wipes seem to be fixing the problem."
Medical Officer: "There was a detonation in another one of the fuel vents the droids were working in - we deactivated several of them and moved them down to maintenance, but we're still treating the plasma burns..."
Medical Officer: "...that cuts us down to almost half-shifts, and with the droids malfunctioning, we may not make the Telos shipment for this month. Fortunately, the detonation didn't cause a lockd-"
System Voice: WARNING: There has been a fuel detonation in the mining tunnels. Emergency Lockdown commencing. All personnel report to quarters and prepare for emergency venting countermeasures.
Medical Officer: "...no, if the ventilation systems are malfunctioning...Evacuate the medical bay! Everyone, evac-" [Holorecord ends in static.]

5. Access medical inventory.
Medical Computer: It looks as if a number of medical-based items can be manufactured using the medical workbench next to the terminal.

If you can open the door to the medical storage room, you'll get a bit of loot. Item(s) received: Medical Bay Container -- Medpac (2) Item(s) received: Medical Bay Container -- Chemicals (5)

After this, you can try to go through the central damaged door and bash it, however...

This door is too damaged to be bashed open with anything short of a plasma torch.

Of course, this redirects us to our only option: the morgue across the hall.

Morgue

Inside the morgue, the body of the old woman from before and the body of a recently deceased miner are laid up. If you try to interact with the old woman first...

[This old woman looks dead, but there's no sign of what killed her.]

Lifting the sheet from the corpse of the miner reveals that he had a plasma torch on his body, a tool suited to cutting metals with precision. The second that you retrieve the torch from the corpse, the old woman, despite appearing dead, awakens.

Kreia: Find what you are looking for amongst the dead?
Dialog
1. I thought you were dead. 2. Your voice - I heard it as I floated in the kolto tank. 3. Who are you?
Kreia: Yes, I had hoped as much - I slept here too long, and could not awaken.
Kreia: It may be I reached out unconsciously, and your mind must have been a willing one. Or perhaps you have been trained for such things?
2. Slept too long? You looked dead when I came in. 1. Just stay out of my mind in the future. Now what do you want? 3. So you can touch minds... and feign death. Who are you?
Kreia: Close to death, yes, closer than I'd like. You have the smell of the kolto tank about you... how do you feel?
1. A little disoriented... was it your voice I heard in the kolto tank? (Invokes same dialogue as "Your voice - I heard it as I floated in the kolto tank.") 2. The kolto tank left me a little drained... who are you? 3. Enough with the false concern - what do you want?
Kreia: I am Kreia, and I am your rescuer - as you are mine. Tell me - do you recall what happened?
1. Last thing I remember, I was on board a Republic ship, the Harbinger... what happened to it? 2. I'm the one asking the questions. How did I get here?
Kreia: I confess I know little more than you do... I do not know where here is.
Kreia: Your ship was attacked. You were the only survivor... a result of your Jedi training, no doubt. Kreia: I do recall rescuing you... the Republic ship you were on was attacked, and you were the only survivor. A result of your Jedi training, no doubt.
1. If you think I'm a Jedi, you're mistaken. 2. I am no longer a member of the Jedi Order. 3. How do you know I was a Jedi?
Kreia: Your stance, your walk tells me you are a Jedi. Your walk is heavy, you carry something that weighs you down.
1. The Jedi Order and I have a... troubled history. 2. That is no business of yours. 3. Let's deal with the now. What is this place?
Kreia: So it would seem. Keep your past - and let us focus on the now.
1. What is this place? 2. All right - what's going on? How did we get here? 3. Very well. How do we get out of here?
Kreia: I do not know. I was removed from the events of the world as I slept. A survey of the surroundings may provide the answers we seek.
Kreia: The ship we arrived in must still be in this place. We should recover it and leave.
1. Why do we need to leave? 2. Care to explain why you're in such a hurry? 3. "We?" Why do you think we are together in this?
Kreia: We were attacked once, and I fear our attackers will not give up the hunt so easily - without transport, weapons, and information, they will find us easy prey indeed.
1. [Awareness] You seem nervous, worried. Is something wrong?
Kreia: Even as I slept, I felt much unrest here - I saw strange visions, minds colored with fear - now, everything here feels terribly silent.
Kreia: I would find out as much as you can about this place quickly - I fear we will need to depart as suddenly as we arrived.
2. We'll see. There's got to be someone left alive around here. 3. I'll go look for our ship - and some weapons. 4. Is there anything else I should keep an eye out for?
Kreia: You may wish to extend your search to some clothes... if only for proper first impressions.
1. Are you well enough to travel?
Kreia: I am not offering to help you - I am not so young as to leap from death's door as quickly as you.
2. I'll return soon to make sure you're all right. 3. Just stay out of my way, or you'll end up like these corpses.
Kreia: I leave you to the explorations of this place... here I will remain and attempt to center myself.

If you have looked through the patient status or treatment in the medical bay computer, you have an opportunity to ask Kreia about it during or after this conversation.

Dialog
1. [Persuade] The patients in the medical bay were killed with a lethal dose of sedatives. Know anything about that?
2. [Persuade/Intimidate] The miners in the med bay were murdered. Know why?
Kreia: [Success] I do not know - why did they spare you? Kreia: [Failure] I do not know anything about that.
1. [Intelligence] The dose almost killed me - whoever did it might try to kill you. Are you sure you don't know anything? 2. [Wisdom] The dose almost killed me - whoever did it might try to kill you. Are you sure you don't know anything?
Kreia: [Success] I do not know - why did they spare you?
1. I wasn't. I got the same dose, but I survived for some reason. 2. I am trained to resist poisons of the body. 3. Maybe I'll ask the killer when I find him - or her.
Kreia: Indeed, a Jedi trance could protect one from such poisons... in fact, the sedatives may have been intended to keep you unconscious for some time. Kreia: Very well... if they do not find us first. Be watchful.
Kreia: It would prove lethal to those untrained in such techniques, however. Most curious.
1. You seem to know a lot about Jedi techniques.
Kreia: And so do you. Perhaps we could discuss it at length later on - now we have other concerns - among them, finding our new enemy.
3. And maybe when I return you'll actually answer my question.
Kreia: Probably not. But perhaps... in time. Kreia: I have found that answers come in their own time, not ours. Turn your energy to the matter at hand - if we cannot find a way out of here, the answers will prove useless anyway.

With Kreia's discussion brings your first taste of the alignment system. Threatening her to stay out of your way grants you dark side points, and showing concern for her well-being and promising to return for her later grants light side points. Dark side points typically involves choosing chaotic or evil options while gaining light side points requires lawful or good responses; however, there are times when the ethical alignment of your choices are more ambiguous.

Security Corridor

Equip the plasma torch and use it to blast open the door's mechanism and proceed forward. There's doors on either side of the room, but the one to your right will be locked.

This door is magnetically sealed and cannot be opened with a plasma torch. It looks like it will need to be opened manually from the other side.

You'll see a corpse and droid ahead of you that can be looted.

Item(s) received: Corpse

Vibroblade

Item(s) received: Broken Droid

Droid Optimized Interface

Droid Neural Pacifier

In general it is good practice to loot anything and everything you come across for components, credits, and shields. Every little bit counts, especially towards the second half of the game where buying the best gear available becomes important.

You'll want to equip the vibrosword in your melee slot, because in the next area, two Damaged Mining Droids attack you immediately. The mining droids here are first-generation models without formal weaponry that are also suffering some damage sustained during the proceeding chaos. Statistically speaking, they are far weaker than you are and they should not give you any significant trouble. However, they are not encountered alone and they can flank you for an increased chance to hit if you put yourselves into the middle of a group, so just pace yourself and take them on one at a time. The second one to die always drops remains, which you should remember to loot.

Item received: Remains

Mining laser

This is essentially a nonupgradeable blaster pistol. You may equip it in place of the vibrosword if your dexterity is higher than your strength.

In the next room, two more will attack you; finish them off quickly as before. You can use either ranged or melee combat to battle them, but melee is the best method overall since these droids are completely restricted to using ranged attacks, granting you a better defense against them. If you use feats, Rapid Shot or Flurry tends to kill them quickly due to their low dexterity and health.

Following this room, you'll find the Emergency Hatch. Interacting with this leads to some unexpected telepathic communication with Kreia...

Dialog
Kreia: :: ...this is the exit... but it is sealed... strange... in my visions, it was open... ::
1. Kreia?
Emergency Hatch: [There is only silence.]
2. [Try to find some way to open the hatch.]
Emergency Hatch: [It is odd that this emergency hatch hasn't opened, considering the circumstances. There may be a way to open it if you could get to an access terminal.]

There is also another broken droid you can loot here.

Item(s) received: Broken Droid

Droid Neural Pacifier

In the room after this, there is a security office containing lockers and a holodesk. There's also another fried corpse.

Item(s) received: Corpse

Security Tunneler

You can bash open or pick the lock on the locker for some ion grenades and materials. There is also a holodesk that provides more background on the situation with holologs of the station's security and maintenance officers.

LIMITED LOG ACCESS OBTAINED
1. Peragus safety holo-orientation.
Security Officer: [Static] "...is this thing on? All right - all hands, especially you, Coorta - listen up because I'm not going to say this again."
Security Officer: "The next one of you juma-heads to try and smuggle a blaster, or so help me, any sort of military grade frag weapons into my facility is going to take a long walk out the airlock."
Security Officer: "Why? Because in case you forgot, Peragian fuel explodes at high temperatures - that's what blasted that chunk out of Peragus II and created this asteroid field."
Security Officer: "So if I catch any of you with anything other than sonic charges or mining lasers, I'll burn you and your contract. Security out."
2. Accident report logs.
Security Officer: [Static.] "...and according to one of the miners, it was because one of the sonic charges went off prematurely. And like before, it was one set by a mining droid."
Security Officer: "The three idiots were grouped so close to the charge it might as well have been a grenade going off - the blast turned their bones to dust."
Security Officer: "The blast wrecked the internal components of the droid that set the charge, though, so we can't even dissect it to see what happened."
Security Officer: "I don't like what's going on here. Ever since that Jedi showed up, things are getting worse... it's not just Coorta and his miners, or the fights, but now the droids are acting crazy."
Security Officer: "Ah, if we don't find what's causing this - or who - this facility's going to be space dust by the time the next Telos freighter arrives."
3. Mining droid maintenance logs.
Security Officer: [Static.] "...so you're in maintenance? Then maybe you can tell me what's going on with these droids."
Maintenance Officer: TERMINAL: "Sir, I don't know. It's like their behavior cores are undergoing binary decay, but I can't find the source... this shouldn't be happening."
Security Officer: "Well, that's reassuring. It isn't happening. So the next time we nearly have a breach in the ventilation tunnels, I can just close my eyes and pretend it's my imagination."
Security Officer: "You better give me some answers - I want to know the damage these droids can do if they start mining us instead of asteroid rock."
Maintenance Officer: TERMINAL: "Sir, these droids aren't combat models... their mining lasers are weaker and less accurate than blasters. I doubt those droids could even hit one of us."
Security Officer: "Are you blind?! What about the miners in med bay? It's sabotage - and it started right after the commander said we weren't going to sell the Jedi to the Exchange."
Security Officer: "So I want you to find out how these droids are being sabotaged. That'll tell me who's trying to clear a path to get that Jedi off the facility - and stop him."
Security Officer: "In the meantime, make sure the security's armed with all the ion and sonic charges you can find. If those droids start coming after me, I'm gonna need more than low-grade mining lasers to take 'em down. Clear?"
Maintenance Officer: "Yes, sir. Maintenance control out."
Security Officer: "Idiot."
4. Administration console "maintenance."
Security Officer: [Static.] "...I installed an override switch to shut down any droids on this level, just in case someone locks me out of the administration console."
Security Officer: "As added insurance, I tied the override switch into the circuits of the holding cell door. That'll make sure it can only be opened if all droids in the level are shut down."
Security Officer: "I doubt Coorta or any of his men have the skill to pull off something like this, but I'm not taking any chances while we're sitting in the middle of this asteroid minefield."
Security Officer: "Whoever's responsible won't be able to have the droids rescue him after I lock him up. Nothing'll cut through that door - he'll be trapped."
5. Security storage room inventory.
Security Officer: [Static.] "...I secured the stealth field generator inside one of the footlockers in the security storage room. If I have the specs right, the interface field should be effective against the droid sensors."
Security Officer: "All I need to do is equip the belt - and some skill with stealth in order to use it. As long as I don't get too close to the droids, they shouldn't detect me."
Security Officer: "If any more droids start 'malfunctioning,' the belt should buy me enough time to get to the override switch I set up in the communications blister console."
Security Officer: 'I'd rather shut them down than destroy them - I want to find out how these droids are being sabotaged, maybe even turn them against whoever's sabotaging them.'
2. Access remote camera controls.
Security Desk: CAMERA CONTROLS
1. Main Security Office. 2. Security Storage Room. 3. Communications Blister. 4. Holding Cells. 5. Emergency Hatch to Mining Tunnels.
Security Desk: That neighboring room contains a dense cluster of mining robots - storming that room with a weapon could prove dangerous unless you can take them all out at once.
3. Log out.

Save the ion grenades for large groups of droids rather than lone targets, as there aren't many that you will find in this facility. Just as you attempt to cross into the next room on your way to the communications area, Kreia uses the Force to telepathically commune with you.

Dialog
Kreia: :: ...be careful... there is much energy in the room beyond... yet it stems from nothing that lives... ::
1. Kreia? Wh-?
Kreia: :: ...can you not sense them... reach out... cast aside your sight, cast aside what you see, and instead, reach out with your perceptions... ::
Kreia: :: ...ah you can feel them... the droids you cannot perceive, but the small oscillations of energy... that you can feel... echoing outwards... ::
1. [With Kreia's help, you have gained the passive Precognition power. When this power is triggered, you should save your game.]

The upcoming meant to be a miniboss, so saving beforehand is recommended by the game and the cutscene that you just witnessed. Three droids is a bit tough at level 1 since all three will be firing at once and you will be considered to be flanked regardless of what angle you take when fighting them. Return to the medbay to heal with the kolto tank if your health is low and use the vibrosword to even your odds as much as possible. If you are feeling rather cheap, you can stand right at the threshold of the door and just lob an ion grenade at the center droid for an instant wipe.

There are two footlockers in this room. Opening the one on the wall to the left of where you entered...

Item(s) received: Footlocker

Ion Grenade (2)

Stealth Field Generator

After the encounter, Kreia communicates with you again.

Dialog
Kreia: :: Ah... you hear it. It is faint... but it is there. ::
1. What is happening? 2. I feel strange...like the sedatives are wearing off. 3. Is there something wrong with me?
Kreia: :: It is the Force you feel... it has not been so long as for you to forget... ::
1. But it doesn't feel like it did... it feels like it is coming from across a great distance. 2. It's like a sound, but... 3. It has been almost a decade - I had forgotten. 4. I don't want this. Not again, never again.
Kreia: :: Do not turn away from it. Listen... feel it echoing within you. ::
Kreia: :: Come. I shall guide you down familiar paths - you will need it if we are to survive and escape this place. ::
1. [Gaining experience will slowly reestablish your connection to the Force. Go to the level up screen to choose your Force abilities.]

Afterwards, you gain 1 level, a few feats related to the Jedi class, and your first Force power. Keep in mind that Stun Droid and Force Shock are going to be the strongest powers that you can take for now since droids, practically speaking, are going to be the only enemy in the facility that you face off against.

Communications Blister

If you watched the holologs at the security station, the security officer will comment about the security override at the administration computer which will shut down all droids and barriers in the immediate vicinity as well as a stealth field generator in the room that you just cleared which is effective against the droids' limited sensors. Whether you choose to rush for the shutdown switch, stealth kill the droids, or destroy them all is up to you, as choosing any of the three grants you the exact same level of experience points. The jail's forcefield shuts down after the switch is tripped or after all 8 droids littered about the area have been neutralized.

Before entering the door, Kreia will communicate some brief thoughts.

Dialog
Kreia: :: ...ah... beyond this door someone yet lives... be mindful... his thoughts are... difficult to read... ::
Kreia: :: ...but you have nothing to fear from this one... and he might yet prove useful... ::

Opening the door triggers a cutscene where your character walks up to this individual.

Atton: Nice outfit - what, you miners change regulation uniform while I've been in here?
Dialog
1. Who are you? 2. I'd keep those eyes up, and tell me who you are. 3. You got a name? Or just a big mouth?
Atton: Atton... Atton Rand. Excuse me if I don't shake hands. The field only causes mild electrical burns.
4. Care to explain why you're locked up?
Atton: Security claimed I violated some trumped-up regulation or another - take it up with them if you want, but they stopped listening to me shortly before they stopped feeding me. Now that's criminal.
1. Maybe I could help if you told me who you are. (Invokes same dialogue as "Who are you?") 2. So you're not a miner. Who are you, then? (Invokes same dialogue as "Who are you?")
5. What is this place?
Atton: You mean you didn't come here on purpose? I'm shocked, I really am.
Atton: This slice of paradise is the Peragus mining facility, the only supplier of shipping-grade engine fuel to this corner of the galaxy.
Atton: Peragus fuel plays havoc with engines, but it gets the job done... as long as you don't mind the toxic byproducts and trying to mine it without blowing yourself up.
1. Blowing yourself up? 2. This facility doesn't sound too safe.
Atton: Yeah - this asteroid belt is one giant minefield. One proton torpedo, even a stray blaster shot, can start an explosion that'll make the one that shattered Peragus II look like a kid's pop detonator.
1. Peragus II? 2. How big of an explosion are we talking about?
Atton: You know the planet with the exposed core you saw flying in? That hole was caused by the first mining station that tried to siphon fuel off the planet.
Atton: Blew a whole chunk out of the planet, and set it drifting out here in a big clump of fuel-cooled asteroids. So the miners drill the asteroids now, not the planet's surface.
Atton: That's why they don't allow blasters here. Can't trust a miner jumped up on juma juice not to fire one stray shot that will turn the entire colony into a thermal detonator.
1. So you're not a miner. Who are you, then? (Invokes same dialogue as "Who are you?") 2. Is that why you were locked up?
Atton: Do I look like some miner? Look - when I start shooting, I'm real careful who and what I shoot. Even when I'm drinking. (Continues to same dialogue as "Care to explain why you're locked up?")
6. This facility's deserted. What happened? 7. I don't have time for this. Tell me what happened here. Now.
Atton: You mean, before or after that Jedi showed up? Either way, it's a real short story.
Atton: You see, this Jedi shows up, and you know what that means - where there's one Jedi, the Republic will soon be crawling up your ion engine in no time.
Atton: But the story gets better. See, some of the miners get it into their ferrocrete skulls that since the Jedi's unconscious, they can collect the bounty the Exchange has posted for live Jedi.
Atton: Well, what passes for the law here didn't like that idea, so the two groups started fighting.
Atton: Then there was some big explosion, and then I was sitting here for a long time, waiting for some half-naked miner to show up and ask a bunch of questions. Atton: Then there was some big explosion, I was sitting here for a long time, then you showed up in your underwear and things got a lot better.
1. There's a bounty on captured Jedi? Why? 2. The Exchange?
Atton: The Exchange is a big crime outfit, mostly operate out of Nar Shaddaa: spice running, gun trafficking, slave trading. Now I guess they're posting bounties on Jedi.
1. Why would they offer a bounty on Jedi? 2. The Exchange is trying to kill Jedi? 3. Were the Jedi interfering with the Exchange's operations?
Atton: Don't know much about it. Maybe the Exchange wants one as a trophy, or somebody's got something against Jedi and is looking to collect.
Atton: Not many Jedi left... wouldn't surprise me if the bounty's pretty high.
1. Not many Jedi left? What happened to them? 2. What's the Exchange? (Invokes the same dialogue as "The Exchange?") 3. Did the Exchange wipe them all out?
Atton: I doubt it. No, it was war that thinned the Jedi, not the Exchange.
Atton: The ones that weren't killed in the Jedi Civil War ended up switching off the lightsabers long ago. Word is, there's not even a Jedi Council anymore, but who knows?
1. I had heard rumors of a war - but a war between Jedi? 2. The stories I heard were of the Sith, not the Jedi. 3. Was it caused by the Mandalorian Wars?
Atton: Yeah, Revan, Malak, and the Jedi that went to join them in the Mandalorian Wars. They turned against the other Jedi and had a scrap that almost laid waste to the galaxy. Heh. Where have you been?

You can actually decide Revan's gender and alignment, regardless of if you've played the previous game or what you may have done during it.

1. I've heard a few rumors, but little else in my travels. 2. I've been... away since the Mandalorian Wars. 3. Just tell me what happened next. 4. What happened between Revan and Malak?
Atton: Well, I wasn't there, but like all Sith, Revan and Malak turned on each other. After they turned on the Jedi, of course.
1. The rumors I heard said Revan defeated Malak, then went to Korriban to unite the Sith against the Republic. 2. I was led to believe that Revan saved the Jedi - and the Republic.
Atton: That was the story - but whatever happened there must not have lasted. Atton: I guess... there's rumors all over space about it. All I heard was Revan returned to pay Malak back for trying to kill her in the first place. You know women.
Atton: There was some big civil war on Korriban, knocked that academy to the ground. Looks like Revan's grand crusade finally consumed her.

Despite the initial dialogue, both alignment options offer a chance to change Revan's gender.

1. How long have you been in that cage? Revan was a man, not a woman.
Atton: Maybe you're right. Maybe I just hoped Revan was a woman.

Otherwise,

2. I am not surprised... Revan lived for battle. She could not easily turn away from war - or death. 2. I had heard Revan's redemption involved her stopping Malak, and she had no choice but to fight him.
Atton: Yeah, well when she became a Sith Lord, she sure didn't stop. She killed her way across half the galaxy. Atton: Well, I wasn't there, thankfully. But I heard what she was like during the Mandalorian Wars, and it sounded like she was quick to wipe out anyone who crossed her.
Atton: The males are bad enough, but when a woman falls to the dark side, you better space yourself before they catch you. Atton: Dark Jedi are bad enough, but when a woman falls to the dark side, you better space yourself before they catch you. Uh, no offense or anything.
1. I had some more questions for you. 1. None taken - I had some more questions for you. 2. This discussion about Revan is pointless. I need to know what happened here. 3. Enough history, let me ask you something else.
Atton: Look, no offense or anything, but your weird half-naked interrogation isn't my id... Atton: Look, not like your half-naked interrogation isn't a personal fantasy of mine, but...
Atton: Hey, wait a minute - you're that Jedi the miners were talking about. Where is everybody?
1. I don't know - this facility seems abandoned. 2. Don't you know what happened to them? 3. Stop playing dumb - you must have seen what took place.
Atton: The miners can't all be gone. But if they are... Atton: From my beautiful view in this security cage? Look, I heard some explosions, some emergency alarms, some toxic gas pouring out of the vents...
Atton: Maybe none of them survived whatever happened. And if they're all gone...
Atton: Look - hey, let me out, and I can help you. I can. I've gotten out of trouble countless times.
5. Seems to me you were locked up for a reason.
Atton: It was a misunderstanding, trumped-up charges. I could clear it up if I could just speak to somebody in charge, but seems to be no chance of that happening... unless you let me out.
3. How can you help? 4. I don't think so. 6. How could you possibly be of any use to me?
Atton: Just in case you don't understand the trouble we're in, let me lay it out for you.
Atton: One explosion - you might survive. But a hundred? A thousand? You'll be riding out of here on a comet trail, Jedi.
Atton: So if something's gone wrong here, you can cling to the Force all you want, but nothing'll stop this place from going critical.
1. [Persuade] Tell me your plan, and we can go from there. 2. [Awareness] I suspect I can trust you... enough to escape here. What is your plan? 1. Do you have some plan for getting out of here? 2. Somewhere in your idiotic rant, you failed to explain how you can be of any use to me.
Atton: [Success] This facility isn't a military installation, which means we may have a chance. Atton: This facility isn't a military installation, which means we may have a chance.
Atton: You shut down this cell's security field, and I can reroute the emergency systems so we can get to the hangars. We grab a ship and then we fly out of here.
1. Why don't you tell me what to do, and then we'll see. 2. I might be able to fly a ship out of here without you.
Atton: No deal. If I'm not leaving, you're not leaving.
1. No, I don't think so.
Atton: Well, go ahead and burn your thrusters. If there's been a lockdown, you're trapped pretty nicely on this level. You're going nowhere.
Atton: Oh... except I have clothes, and this security field is protecting me pretty well from any more outbreaks of poison gas.
3. I trust you. And if we work together, we may be able to get out of this mess. 4. I'll switch off the cage, but if you try and run, I'll cut you down without a second thought. 5. All right, I'll let you out.

Your situation obligates you to release Atton from the cage. Once the field goes down...

Atton: Great - now to business. Let's get to the command console.
1. All right, let's go. 2. Just stay ahead of me and don't make any sudden moves.

You run together towards the administrative console, which was previously inaccessible due to lacking the codes. Atton talks as he grants you access.

Dialog
Atton: All right, here we are. Now this console is set on automatic hail, you may have heard it when you came in.
Atton: The asteroid drift charts are constantly being updated, so it sends out a transmissions to incoming vessels so they don't get crushed into space dust.
Atton: The hail warns them to keep their distance until orbital drift charts are transmitted, and then provides docking instructions to incoming ships... usually freighters.
Atton: Thing is, you can bounce that same transmission back to the comm here... and suddenly, you've got access to the communications system from the inside.
Atton: Pure pazaak - the console's ours. Now, all we need to do is re-activate the turbolifts, cancel the emergency lockdown... hey.
1. What's wrong? 2. Sounds like you're about to tell me something I don't want to hear. 3. If I hear any more bad news, I'm going to get violent.
Atton: This system's been severed from the main hub - after it was locked down from remote. You can't even reroute the system, it's been cut clean.
1. [Computer]That's not standard in an emergency lockdown. 2. [Repair] That wouldn't be standard procedure in an emergency lockdown. 3. Is that part of the lockdown? 4. Did someone do it on purpose?
Atton: No - someone tried to lock down this whole level tight, and leave us here. Trapped. Atton: That's my guess... to cut off the console specifically from remote then sever the hub - it doesn't get any more deliberate than that.
1. Is there anything else we can do with this console? 2. There must be some way to end the lockdown from here.
Atton: I doubt it. All we have is communications back, for all the good trying to shout in a vacuum will do us.
1. Can we contact the miners? 2. Let's see if we can try and reach someone on the comm.
Atton: We could try. But if the miners were trying to trap you up here and probably kill you, why not call them and chat? I don't think a friendly call is going to wake them up.
2. Maybe there's something logged in the terminal that can give us some answers. 3. Cut the backtalk and let me check the console.
Atton: Be my guest - not much else we can do. The comm's all yours.

You can also ask Atton about the incident with the sedatives in the medical bay either before or after letting him out, assuming you've looked at the treatment of the patients in the console.

Dialog
1. [Persuade] The patients in the medical bay were killed with a lethal dose of sedatives. Know anything about that?
2. [Persuade/Intimidate] The miners in the med bay were murdered. Know why?
Atton: [Failure] No - should I? Maybe you should ask one of those miners who was thinking about selling you to the Exchange... maybe they wanted to drug you up for transport, ever think about that? Atton: [Success] Huh? What are you talking about?
1. [Persuade] Calm down - I was just asking, not accusing you. 2. Maybe. And maybe I'll ask the killer when I find him - or her. 3. Yeah, and maybe you were locked up because you did it. What do you think of that? 4. Never mind. Sorry I brought it up. 1. Wanted to know if you knew anything - and you don't. 2. Never mind. Just checking. 3. Nothing. I trust you - let me let you out of that cage and we can work together to get out of this mess.
Atton: [Success] So you done interrogating me, or are we going to work together and try and get out of this mess? Atton: [Failure] You better watch yourself - I don't like being accused of something I didn't do. When I kill someone, trust me, you'll know. Got it? Atton: You better watch yourself - I don't like being accused of something I didn't do. When I kill someone, trust me, you'll know. Got it?
Atton: So you done interrogating me, or are we going to work together and try and get out of this mess?

Now that Atton has done his thing, you'll need to access the administration computer yourself in order to progress.

3. Log out.

Otherwise...in each of the administration logs, a hologram of who seems to be an administrative officer appears.

1. Check administration logs.

Administration Officer: "...tractored the freighter in... it was lucky it wasn't destroyed when it drifted into the asteroid field."
Administration Officer: "Not much on board - one damaged droid, one annoying protocol droid, and a lot of bodies."
Administration Officer: "Sent the survivor to medical, and the others to the morgue. Didn't recognize the ship's ID code, so we transmitted it to the Republic for some answers..." [Static.]
Administration Officer: "...questioned the protocol droid about what happened. Says his master, the survivor I guess, was on a Republic ship, the 'Harbinger,' when it suffered an engine failure."

2. Access Log 253-14.
Administration Officer: [Static.] "...inventoried the bodies and cargo - everything matches the protocol droid's story."
Administration Officer: "The T3 droid had seized up, so we left it in storage in standby mode. Don't know what code will access it - it could be it's voice-activated for all we know."
Administration Officer: "...we put the protocol droid to work in maintenance, sorting the mining droid comm routines and updating their recognition sensors... and to shut him up."
Administration Officer: "When the survivor recovers, hopefully we can get them off this station before there's a ri-" [Holorecord ends in static.]

2. Access comm system.
Administration Computer: COMM SYSTEM ACTIVE
SELECT COMM UNIT
1. Dormitories.
Administration Computer: There is no response.
2. Hangar Bay 25.
Administration Computer: As you access Hangar Bay 25, there is a series of low-pitched whistles and beeps - it sounds as if there is a utility droid on the other end.
1. Can you read me? 2. Is anyone there? Answer me.

Fortunately, the hangar bay's PA system is still online and calling in alerts T3-M4 to your presence.

Dialog
T3-M4: Dwoooooooo... deet? Beep.
1. Do a diagnostic, then follow my instructions. 2. Are you operational?
T3-M4: Beeee-weeeet. Bee-deet.
1. I need another route off this level - now. 2. We're trapped up on the administration level. Can you unlock the turbolifts?
T3-M4: Doooo-reep. Bee-wheeep.
1. Is there some other way out of here besides the turbolifts? 2. There must be emergency hatches - try to find one.
T3-M4: Bee-deeeet? Dwoooop-Beep!

If you have more business to do in this area, you can delay this part of the story.

3. Actually, cancel that last order - I'll call you back on the comm when I'm done up here.

Otherwise...

1. I'd rather risk it than be trapped up here. 2. Don't question my orders, just follow them.
T3-M4: Dwooooooo.

After asking for his help, you transition to the next chapter of the story back in control of T3-M4.

Strategies

  • Don't use medkits to heal yourself unless you are dangerously low on health. The kolto tank in the medbay has unlimited uses and heals you to full vitality at no cost.
  • Save grenades and shields for later battles when the droids become more concentrated.
  • Melee is the best way to defeat the droids at this point in time, even if you have built a character designed for combat at a distance.
