Meanwhile back at the Mandalorian ruins, Zuka takes you to the bottom hangar to the right of the battle circle, which he's about to open:

Zuka: Xarga said that he and your friends are making good progress through the jungle. Trust me, this is worth the wait.
Dialog
Zuka: And here it is, a salvaged Basilisk War Droid. Mandalore said that he would make it available to you for insertion into the city of Iziz. I assure you, they won't know what hit them.
1. What exactly is a Basilisk? 2. I get to fly a Basilisk? 3. Let's get to it, then.
Zuka: The Basilisk War Droid is the epitome of weapon technology. State of the art weaponry, armor, and maneuverability. Zuka: Yes, just like a new Mandalorian recruit proving themselves. Into the heart of a war, as well. Mandalore has given you a great honor. Zuka: There is one problem...
Zuka: Unfortunately its weapon systems aren't fully functional yet, as are some other unimportant support systems. But she will get you to Iziz in one piece. Their fighters won't be able to stop that.
1. What kinds of 'unimportant' support systems? 2. I'm ready to go.
Zuka: Minor systems. Nothing you need concern yourself with.
Zuka: We've modified the interior to hold three people. It may be a little tight. You need to leave immediately. Iziz is in the grip of a civil war, so there'll be considerable resistance. They remember the last time Basilisk War Droids visited their planet.
Zuka: Fight ferociously. And if you die, take as many as you can with you.

The Party Selection screen opens. If you try to remove Kreia, or add any of Xarga's party:

This character must be a member of your party at this time. The party member you have selected is currently unable to join the party.

Once your party is selected, you fly from Dxun back to Iziz on Onderon, taking fire as you come in to land.

Queen Talia

Merchant Quarter

The Basilisk landing is a crater in the middle of the street in the merchant quarter, between the turret tower below and the market square above:

Vaklu Soldier: A Basilisk? A Basilisk here? Mandalorians are attacking the city! Talia has made an alliance with the Mandalorians. Men, destroy them!
Mandalore: Looks like they still remember us.
1. The Mandalorian exploits have left a profound impact in more places than Iziz. 2. A lot of people are suffering today, I'm so glad you're amused. 3. Let's get going.
Mandalore: I hope to build on that legacy.
Mandalore: But now is not the time for talk. It's the time for action!

You are behind the Basilisk, with three Vaklu soldiers in the street below you, where the exit to the spaceport is now blocked with rubble. Ahead of the Basilisk, three soldiers come running from the market square to the right, three more come running from the direction of the western square to the left, and another two also come running from the Sky Ramp to the left a little later.

You can simply run past them, if you want. The exit to the western square on the top left side of the merchant quarter is now also blocked with rubble. However, as you approach the exit to the Sky Ramp on the top side of this street:

Captain Bostuco: I recognize you, you're that off-worlder. Come, we have no time. Vaklu's forces have overrun the Sky Ramp. The Royal Palace could fall any minute! We must save the Queen!

Meanwhile, Queen Talia is with Master Kavar and a Captain Kadron in the throne room of the royal palace:

Queen Talia: Your plan seems to have succeeded, your enemy has indeed revealed himself.
Dialog
Master Kavar: I anticipated the Sith. Those beasts... those beasts weren't in my battle plan.
Queen Talia: Even now Vaklu is using them to breach the Palace. I will not surrender to that usurper. I would die first.
Captain Kadron: Every man here would give their life to keep that from happening.
Master Kavar: There is hope... It is faint, but growing stronger. I think my message was received.
Queen Talia: Which message? What are you talking about?
Master Kavar: An old student is returning. I don't think the Sith are going to know what hit them.
Captain Bostuco: This way, this way to the Sky Ramp!

When you enter the Sky Ramp, Captain Bostuco awaits you:

Captain Bostuco: There are two force shield checkpoints along this path. Vaklu's forces have held this ramp for over a standard hour. That means they control the checkpoints now. If we can get to the Turret Tower up ahead we can deactivate the first barrier.
Bao-Dur: The force shields won't present a problem. I can get us through them.
Captain Bostuco: You can? That will save us precious minutes.
Captain Bostuco: The forces we're encountering right now are their rear guard. The fighting will get tougher the closer we get to the front of the battle line.

Captain Bostuco cannot be killed and he follows your main character, so if you want to scout ahead in Stealth mode then you'll need to use another character (although if you remain undetected, then you can watch him take on and beat all comers single-handed). If you speak to him again:

Captain Bostuco: That traitor Vaklu has allied with the Sith. And somehow even the beasts follow them. The soldiers loyal to the Queen held the Sky Ramp checkpoint as long as we could. But we were outnumbered. We've got to get the Royal Palace.

However, of more immediate concern are three Vaklu troopers and a gunner running down the ramp towards you:

Royalist Sergeant: Thank you! Vaklu's supporters stormed our position. The beasts... the beasts have gone mad and attack on their command. Please - go to the Palace. We received a transmission that the Palace Grounds have been breached. If so, they don't have much time.
Bostuco: Have they changed the access codes in the Turret Tower? We need to get through the force shields.
Royalist Sergeant: I don't think they've had time, sir. They've been firing the turret non-stop. Vaklu is close to having air superiority now.
Royalist Sergeant: You two, follow the Jedi. The rest of us will hold our position. We don't have much time!

Two of the four royalist soldiers inside now follow you: unlike Captain Bostuco, they can be killed. If you speak to the sergeant again, or any soldier:

Royalist Sergeant: I hope that you get to the Queen in time.
I knew that General Vaklu would not stay allied with the Sith. I am glad that we are free of them.

Workbench

In the top left corner of the barracks there's a Workbench by the top wall, and four large lockers by the left wall:

While you deactivate the force field barrier, General Vaklu and Colonel Tobin speak in the royal palace:

General Vaklu: We've taken the Palace. How much longer must I wait for Talia's blood?
Dialog
Colonel Tobin: The beast's... progress is remarkable. But, it will take time, General. The throne room's force shields are far stronger than normal shields.
General Vaklu: Our plans go well, Tobin, but we are still vulnerable until she is dead. Even now it could all unravel. Redouble your efforts, there is disturbing news from the city.
Colonel Tobin: As you command, general.

Outside, there's a power conductor by the right wall of the platform, between the turret tower and the entrance to the second ramp: if you approach it then it overloads, inflicting 40 electrical damage on all in the vicinity.

Captain Bostuco: This isn't good. One of Vaklu's slicers has control of the security grid. He blew up that power conductor. Their slicer has to be using a Palace security terminal. They've already locked down all secondary computer system on the Sky Ramp. Until we deal with their slicer in the Palace, you can bet that there will be more surprises up ahead.

The entrance to the second ramp is in the top right corner of the platform, and guarded by a Vaklu lieutenant, a young boma and a gunner on the other side of a force field. If you haven't deactivated this barrier, and try to attack it with anything other than a Plasma Torch or lightsaber:

[This force field seems to be impenetrable to normal attacks. Maybe Bao-Dur could destroy it with his fist.]

You can also destroy it with a plasma torch or lightsaber... or a mine of sufficient strength with sufficient Demolitions rank (although at level 25 on Normal, it requires a Devastating Frag, Plasma or Sonic Mine with Demolitions rank 42). Once the barrier is deactivated or destroyed:

Vaklu Lieutenant: Tell command we need reinforcements! A Jedi Knight is assaulting our flank. Hold the line!
1. Surrender now. Why lose your life for General Vaklu's ambitions? 2. Prepare yourself. 3. Reinforcements won't arrive in time. Surrender now.

As you go up the ramp, two more royalist soldiers run up behind you:

Captain Bostuco: Good, some reinforcements. Follow the Jedi, we're going to retake the Palace. We've got to stop General Vaklu before he gets to the Queen.

As the ramp turns right, there's another power conductor on the corner, by the left wall: once again, if you approach it then it overloads, inflicting 40 electrical damage on all in the vicinity, but you can avoid this if you hug the right wall as you pass.

Royal Palace

At the top of the ramp, a lone Sith soldier stands between you and a second force field:

Vaklu Sergeant: Please spare us!

Vaklu Sergeant: There's no escape, hold the line...

Otherwise:

1. Finally, somebody has the right idea. Go ahead, run. 2. I will not harm you if you leave now. 1. Go on, get out of here before I change my mind.

The sergeant and troopers run up the ramp... but the Sith lord on the platform above cuts down two as they flee:

Sith Lord: Hold the line! Those cowards will be dealt with.

The Sith lord and his apprentice come down the ramp to join the only remaining soldier. If you try to attack the force field with anything other than a Plasma Torch or lightsaber:

[This force field seems to be impenetrable to normal attacks. Maybe Bao-Dur could destroy it with his fist.]

And regardless their other alternative is the Jedi, which is unacceptable. General Vaklu: Very well. We will give you any Force sensitive people you can find. We have no means to discover them by ourselves.

General Vaklu: When Queen Talia is dead and the Royal Palace mine, I am willing to give you 10,000 credits.

General Vaklu: My plan is to divide my forces. My main body has many Sith soldiers and their Masters. Also it has many beasts that somehow the Sith control. I am going to take that body and assault the Royal Palace head on. The casualties will be extreme, but we will break through. And also weaken the Sith tremendously. I want you to lead a detachment of my men that will take the Sky Ramp then go to the Palace via that route. You will have no Sith and no beasts. Your leadership and prowess will be the only chance they have. I know that you can do the job. You should make haste to the Palace, because at any point they will have learned of your attack on their base on the Dxun moon. Together we will crush their army and then, deal with Talia. After that, it won't take the Sith long to realize they've been betrayed. But together we will crush their forces and then deal with Talia.
1. Can you hold off the Sith long enough before I get to you?
General Vaklu: The Sith are very powerful, but it is apparent to me they rely on the Force too much. Their knowledge of warfare and tactics is weak. Their arrogance is their greatest weakness. We will severely diminish their strength by the time we get to the Palace. My troops should be able to hold them off until you arrive. Their army must be destroyed, otherwise they would forever be a threat to Onderon.
2. How do you plan on dealing with Talia? 3. I will see you in the Royal Palace.
General Vaklu: Plans rarely survive first contact. Much less two battles after that. Then we take stock and reevaluate our position.
General Vaklu: You will need to clear the way for our troops on the Sky Ramp - one of my officers will be assigned to you to follow your orders. When we meet again it will be in the Palace. And death to anyone that stands in our way.
Vaklu Officer: Colonel Tobin has ordered us to follow you. With you in command, the Royal Palace will fall this day!

Colonel Tobin and General Vaklu have left. Meanwhile, Queen Talia is with Master Kavar and a Captain Kadron in the throne room of the royal palace:

Queen Talia: Your plan seems to have succeeded, your enemy has indeed revealed himself.

Master Kavar: I anticipated the Sith. Those beasts... those beasts weren't in my battle plan.
Queen Talia: Even now Vaklu is using them to breach the Palace. I will not surrender to that usurper. I would die first.
Captain Kadron: Every man here would give their life to keep that from happening.
Master Kavar: I think the situation has gotten even worse.
Queen Talia: Worse? How is that even possible?
Master Kavar: It can always gets worse. An old student is returning. I fear for us all...
Vaklu Officer: My men and I will meet you at the Sky Ramp.

He runs towards the Sky Ramp. Four Vaklu soldiers remain in the market square:

General Vaklu is a brilliant officer. We will triumph this day.

When you enter the Sky Ramp, the Vaklu officer awaits you:

Vaklu Officer: The Sky Ramp is one of the primary access routes to the Royal Palace. Our fighters have been strafing and bombing this area routinely. There are still royalists defending this area, but their numbers should be thinned. There are two force shield checkpoints. We need to gain access to the Turret Tower's access terminal, which can shut those shields down. You and I should clear the path. Then my men will follow.

This officer cannot be killed and he follows your main character, so if you want to scout ahead in Stealth mode then you'll need to use another character (although if you remain undetected, then you can watch him take on and beat all comers single-handed). If you speak to him again:

Vaklu Officer: You spearhead our assault. I'll guard your flank. They will be no match for you, Jedi!

The four Vaklu troopers following you can be killed:

Tobin says that you are one of the General's most important allies.

As you leave the tower:

Vaklu Officer: The royalists have been preparing the defense of the Sky Ramp for some time. There are mines, turrets, and worse up ahead. If you clear the way, we will follow.

Outside, there's a power conductor by the right wall of the platform, between the turret tower and the entrance to the second ramp: if you approach it then it overloads, inflicting 40 electrical damage on all in the vicinity.

Vaklu Officer: Their slicer overloaded that power conductor! We can't do anything about it here. The Palace has already locked down all secondary computer systems on the Sky Ramp. But we'll find their slicer in the Palace and make him pay. Until then, beware of any more surprises.

The entrance to the second ramp is in the top right corner of the platform, and guarded by another defense turret.
