Sensor Search: Bonus Mission

East of the Khoonda Outpost is a wrecked speeder and a Militia Soldier named Saedhe.. He will ask for your help in finding Atmospheric Sensors that the speeder failed to deliver. Bao-Dur will be suspicious if he's in your party and have unique dialogue with the soldier. He also has more unique dialogue and a chance to gain influence when you find the sensors. I recommend picking up the quests Kinrath Problem and Changing of the Guard as all three of these quests require you to go to the same area.

After you finished talking to Saedhe, head directly east to the Crystal Caves at the southeast corner of the map. Before entering the cave for the first time, save the game in case you're not satisfied with the loot inside. If this is your first time entering the caves then the atmospheric sensors will not spawn. You will need to exit the caves then re-enter but if you've already visited the caves then a cutscene will trigger showing a pile of rubble. Its just up ahead at the first split next to a pillat. Bao-Dur will comment that the use of atmospheric sensors is suspicious and you can choose to let him examine it, use your repair skill to examine it yourself, or disregard his suspicions. Upon closer inspection, the sensors are revealed to be surveillance equipment for the Militia.

Once you're finished with the caves you'll have multiple ways to finish this quest. The sensors can be used as evidence of the militia's activities for Changing of the Guard or you can give them to Saedhe.

Saedhe: That's great news. My offer still stands - I'll pay you 3000 credits for all of them.

===Light Side=== Confront Saedhe about the sensors then agree to hand them over for the original reward of 3,000 credits.

2. Not so fast - we found a little surprise inside them.
Saedhe: I was afraid of that. So how do we do this, then?
1. Why is there surveillance equipment in the sensors?
Saedhe: We were picking up off-world transmissions between the mercenaries and... someone, we don't know who. We know that the mercs are up to something, we just don't know what. We set those atmospheric sensors up to gather information. Now you know why we need those sensors. I'll pay you 5000 credits for all three of them. That's about all we can afford. You make money and help us out at the same time. What do you say?
1. You need the credits more than me. Call it 3000 credits.
Light Side Points Gained: +4
Saedhe: Heh, heh. Yeah, that's admirable of you! Thank you! I'll get this back to Zherron when I get back to Khoonda.
Journal Entry Added Sensor Search: Bonus Mission
You confronted Saedhe about the surveillance devices Bao-Dur found in the atmospheric sensors. He urged you to keep that quiet and agreed to pay you more money. The farmer that died was working on getting proof that there was a connection between the Exchange and the mercenaries. This information might get help for Dantooine from the Republic.

Neutral

You can avoid Light or Dark Side poonts by simply accepting the 5,000 Credits. If you didn't inspect the sensors, you can ask for a higher reward through an Awareness check but you'll only get 4,000 Credits instead of 5,000 unless G0-T0 is present or you mention Azkul.

2. Not so fast - we found a little surprise inside them. 3. I'm sure that Azkul would be interested to know that you're spying on him.
Saedhe: I was afraid of that. So how do we do this, then? Saedhe: I'm not going to lie, he would be very interested. But Azkul is a low-life. We did it to protect the settlers of Dantooine. I'll pay 5000 credits for all three sensors. We're not a prosperous colony, that's really all we can afford. Please help us and make some money.
2. I want more money.
Saedhe: Done - 5000 credits. That's all I can offer. We're not rich and you can tell why we need those sensors.
1. 5000 credits sounds good to me.
Saedhe: Thanks for your help on this. Here are the credits as promised. I'll get this to Zherron when I get back to Khoonda.

An Awareness check is avaliable if you didn't check the sensors:

Dark Side

Refuse to hand over the sensors then initiate combat by calling him a "loose end". He will have 5,000 Credits on him. You can gain Dark Side points without killing him by mentioning Azkul then simply leaving, but you won't get a reward unless you use the sensors in Changing of the Guards, give them to Saedhe, or kill him and take the credits.

On Dantooine, Saves can be modified depending on the area and character alignment of your main character, party and enemies:

Alignment Khoonda Plains Enclave Courtyard Enclave Sublevel
Dark (0-40) -20 -30 -30
Light (60-100) +20 +30 +30

The Crystal Cave and Khoonda are unaffected, as are neutral characters with alignment 41-59.
