| Remember when you Headbutted all those trees to get a {{bp|Pineco}} and {{bp|Exeggcutor}}? Well it's time to start Headbutting again, because starting with Route 42, there's a whole new assortment of Pokémon to dislodge. If you've lost the Pokémon that knew how to Headbutt, you can re-buy the TM (#02) in Goldenrod City. You'll get a lot of {{bp|Spearow}}, but you'll also knock down new Pokémon {{bp|Heracross}} and {{bp|Aipom}}. One of the "special trees" you'll need to hit is one space right and directly south of the sign in the upper right next to the cave. The tree is on a corner and other trees in the area will not yield the rare pokemon.

It finally gets a strong late game Fighting move Cross Chop with a Power of 100. It learns fighting moves early like Low Kick at level 9, Karate Chop at level 15 and Seismic Toss later on

Mortar and wait for swarms like you do in Gold and Silver. Marill is one of the weakest new Pokémon in Gold, Silver, and Crystal. Its stats are pretty poor (even after evolution) and its selection of moves is pretty bad.

The Bug equivalent of Lightning and Fire Blast, this attack could K.O. a {{bp|Mewtwo}} in one shot. Too bad the Fighting type makes it too vulnerable to Psychics to last that long.
