Large appliances include dishwashers and trash compactors, objects designed to make your Sims' lives easier. These objects are placed within counters (but cannot be placed where there's a countertop sink, and cannot be placed on island counters). Dishwashers and trash compactors can break, which will then need repairing, increasing Mechanical skill.

Acts similar to a trash bin. The Empty interaction becomes available once trash has been placed in it. When full, trash visibly spills over, knocking off points from Environment. If left, it begins to stink after a few hours, further reducing Environment score.

Dishwashers make it easier to wash up dirty dishes and plates, and is a big time-saver. Sims do not need to upload dishwashers, and they can be loaded even when running. This cheaper dishwasher is noisy and will awaken any sleeping Sims in the room.
