Map of the central beach

Trapped on a Nameless World[edit | edit source]

Ebon Hawk[edit | edit source]

You exit the Ebon Hawk on the east side of the beach, with the sea to the west. There's a battered foot locker in the northwest corner by the surf:

The only exit to the beach is a path to the east. As you approach it, five Rakatan warriors come down it and attack. Two use a single Vibrosword:

After killing all five warriors, a pair of Duros appear from the rocks on the north side of the beach:

Dialog
Duros: You have defeated the murderous animals! We thank you, human, for saving us!
1. Er... No problem! 2. Well, they attacked me first... 3. If I had known you were there, I would have waited a couple minutes...
Duros: If your arrival had not been so fortuitously timed, we would have been in great danger. We thank you again for saving us. Duros: If you had... had waited for a better opportunity, yes! But then we would have been in danger... but I can see your point! You are smart as well as valorous. We thank you again for saving us.

After asking them what they're doing here or telling them you're not actually here to save them, you can kill them:

Dialog
1. What are you doing here? 4. Actually, I'm not here to save you.
Duros: We had crashed here when our mining survey vessel encountered some strange sort of energy field. It disrupted our engine and power system and forced us to make a crash landing on this world. Our ship sank far out to sea, but a handful of us were able to make it to this island... more than you see here, though. Duros: You... you are not? Then what are you here for?
3. It's not like me to crush insects like you, but I'm bored, so... 3. I'm here to finish the job they started!
Dark Side Points Gained: -4
Duros: What?! You... No!

Both Duros are unarmed and unarmored level 1 Soldiers, with just 8 Vitality.

Experience Points (XP) Received:

Otherwise, they can tell you a little about the natives on this planet, and the Mandalorians by a large temple structure to the north which may have something to do with the disruptor field, before leaving:

Dialog
1. Where are the rest of your companions? 2. What happened? 1. I have to find a way off this world. 2. It's not like I had a choice...
Duros: Many have been killed at the hands of the locals. A few tried to swim to one of the closer islands, but we have not heard from them in many days. Of the 10 of us who remained here, we two are the only remaining survivors... Duros: As do we all. Duros: None of us are here by choice... and all seek a way to escape.
Duros: We have seen little in the short time we have been on this world that would indicate a way off... except...
2. Why would they have attacked you? 3. How do you know I'm friendly to you? 1. The native creatures killed the others?
Duros: Why... why would you not be? All we survivors on this strange world must band together, else the marauding inhabitants would slaughter us all!
Duros: They attack any they come across. They are barbaric savages who feast upon the bodies of the dead! The only beings who crash here that can hold them off are the Mandalorians, and we dare not go near them... we know of their depredations too well.
3. Has anyone found a way off this world? 1. Except? 2. Spill it!
Duros: The Sith... we have seen Sith interceptors in the sky once or twice... They appear to be able to fly unimpeded through the field which forced us to crash. If we could somehow find a ship of theirs... But it is too much to hope for. The Sith would surely kill us on sight if we were found. Much better to hide and hope the Republic finds us here eventually. We believe they may have something to do with the large temple structure to the north of here. We have been suspicious of that structure since we landed, but we cannot approach it... the Mandalorians hunt in that area.
1. There are Mandalorians here?? 2. Tell me of the natives.
Duros: Yes, there are. More than you might think, although that may just be because they aren't killed as easily as we are. With their weapons they raid and kill other survivors, and can fight off the natives as well. They seem to have some sort of invisibility or light cloaking shield that hides them until they strike. Duros: We know little beyond what we have told you already... savages who eat the dead and attack anyone on sight. If it were not for them, this world might almost be habitable...
1. Where are they?
Duros: They are north of here by a large temple structure. We dare not approach it, for they would surely kill us.
Duros: But we cannot delay here much longer... The longer we stay, the more likely either the Mandalorians or the natives will find us and kill us.
3. You could stay in our ship if you want.
Duros: No, we dare not. If we remain here, it will only be a matter of time before the natives or the Mandalorians find us and kill us.
2. Why don't you try to get to one of the other islands?
Duros: I believe that would be the best choice... The others have not returned, but it may be because they could find no way to. It would be worth the risk, rather than stay here and face certain death... I thank you one last time, human, for saving us. We shall remember you, and hope that, should you escape, you will tell the Republic of those of us stranded here.
Journal Entry Added Trapped on a Nameless World
You've encountered some Duros who crashed on this world as well. They were about to be attacked by a fierce group of natives. What other creatures might call this world home?

A path to the north leads to the North Beach: regardless of your character's alignment or need for experience or speed, entering the Rakatan Settlement there before the Elder Settlement on the south beach is recommended. You need the help of one of these settlements to find a way to disable the disruptor field, but while neither choice necessarily alters your alignment, helping the Rakatan settlement of the One gives you a couple of chances to move closer to the dark side of the Force. However, visiting the Rakatan settlement first is quicker and allows you to gain more experience while keeping your options open, whereas visiting the Elder settlement first means you have to help them.

If gaining experience is still necessary for your character or party then it's also better to go to the Temple exterior first and kill all enemies encountered there before returning to the north beach, since others will appear upon your return there.

If you return from the north beach after being attacked there, or from the Elder settlement without being attacked after entering it first, then you'll encounter four Rakatan warriors here using two Vibroblades and Frag Grenades like those you first encountered on the beach.

Temple[edit | edit source]

At the top of the slope to the south is a ledge to the west overlooking the Ebon Hawk on the beach below, and a path to the northeast leading to the Temple Exterior.
