You can see everyone from the southeast corner of swoop registration.

Exit[edit]

The door exiting to Anchorhead is behind you in the east wall, in the northeast corner.

Tatooine Swoop Racing[edit]

If you speak to the track coordinator behind the counter by the west wall before signing up with Motta the Hutt:

KotOR Icon Dialog.png Track Coordinator: Sorry, the track is only for racers that Motta has accepted and signed up. He pays for track upkeep, so it's his choice. Go talk to him and we'll see about setting you up.

Motta the Hutt is by the south wall:

Just tell him you have your own bike, then negotiate the track maintenance fee:

KotOR Icon Credits.png Credits Lost: 100 KotOR Icon Credits.png Credits Lost: 50

Do not pay 100 credits as he can always be persuaded to drop the fee to 50, and it's easy to use the Force to persuade him that you don't need to pay anything at all:

KotOR Icon Journal.png Journal Entry Added: Tatooine Swoop Racing
You have signed up for the swoop races on Tatooine. Motta the Hutt runs the races and will keep track of your times.

You're now free to participate in Tatooine Swoop Racing, or help Motta with some business, signing Nico...

Signing Nico[edit]

Nico Senvi is a young Tw'lek swoop racer standing in the northwest corner. If you try to speak to him before signing up with Motta the Hutt:

KotOR Icon Dialog.png Nico Senvi: Deal with that Hutt Motta and you'll understand. Until then, I just don't want to talk about it.

After signing up with Motta, you can ask him with what sort of business he needs help:

KotOR Icon Journal.png Journal Entry Added: Signing Nico
Motta the Hutt wants you to help him bully the young racer Nico into a very restrictive racing contract.

You can now ask Nico some questions about racing, and if he knows much about Tatooine:

You receive the same experience (250 XP in total) regardless of whether you convince Motta to give Nico a better contract or bully Nico into signing the existing one, but the latter is rewarded (at the expense of moving closer to the dark side of the Force). In both cases, you need to become champion before this quest can be completed.

Renegotiate[edit]

You can convince Motta to give Nico a better contract even before speaking to the swoop racer:

KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. I think you should give him a better deal.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Motta the Hutt: You're not going to pull that typical swoop-jockey attitude, are you? This is business, and I know what's best. What do you care whether I make money off the kid or not? He wants to race and you'll get paid. We all win.

It's obviously going to be difficult:

Hard 1. [Persuade] Treat him fairly or I'll start rumors your races are rigged. High (Dominate Mind) 2. [Force Persuade] You want to give Nico a better deal!
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Motta the Hutt: [Success] You wouldn't. That would be bad. Very bad. Even rumors like that could keep me out of the pro circuit. KotOR Icon Dialog.png Motta the Hutt: [Success] Of course I could just give him a better deal. Did I say that? Wait, I guess it does make sense. His times *have* suffered since I made the offer. I mean, swoop-jocks are moody. They feel bad, they don't win.

If this fails, then threatening him first makes it easy to use your own powers of persuasion or the Force:

However, even this isn't necessary if Zaalbar, Canderous, HK-47, Jolee or Bastila backs up your threat:

KotOR Icon Dialog.png Motta the Hutt: All right, I'll give him a better deal and make it back in the long run, I guess. You, of course, are not getting paid! I trust this is the last I will have to hear about this matter? Was there anything else?
KotOR Icon Journal.png Journal Entry Added: Signing Nico
You have convinced Motta to give Nico a better contract that will benefit both of them in the long term. Nico will want to express his thanks to you.
KotOR Icon XP.png Experience Points (XP) Received:
  • 50 Convinced Motta to give Nico a better contract

If you try to talk about that business with Nico again:

KotOR Icon Dialog.png Motta the Hutt: Oh, no, I'm not talking to you about that anymore. I agree to strange things when you are around, that's for sure. Nico's got the best deal I've ever given, no lie. Now leave so I can figure out how to still make money off this.

If you speak to Nico again before becoming champion:

KotOR Icon Journal.png Journal Entry Added: Signing Nico
Nico won't listen to what you have to say about Motta's new contract until you have proven you are as good a racer as he is, and his times are presumably as fast as the Tatooine official track record.
KotOR Icon Journal.png Journal Entry Added: Signing Nico
Even though you've arranged a better deal for him, Nico won't listen to what you have to say about Motta's contract until you have proven you are as good a racer as he is, and his times are presumably as fast as the Tatooine official track record.

Once you've become champion, you can tell him you've convinced Motta to give him a better contract:

KotOR Icon Journal.png Journal Entry Added: Signing Nico
Nico has expressed his thanks for securing him a better deal with Motta.
KotOR Icon XP.png Experience Points (XP) Received:
  • 200 Thanked for securing Nico a better deal
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Nico Senvi: I have to thank you, you know? I don't know how you did it. I really don't.

Nico remains, but you can no longer ask him questions.

Bully[edit]

Otherwise, you can ask Nico why he doesn't want the deal with Motta:

Rather than convincing Motta to give him a better contract, you can try to convince him to sign the existing one:

You move closer to the dark side of the Force if you successfully persuade or threaten him:

Easy 1. [Persuade] It's the best deal you'll get. You know it. KotOR Icon Dialog.png 3. It's simple: sign, or you'll die on this rock. Maybe soon. Understand?
KotOR Icon Dark.png Dark Side Points Gained: -2
Nico Senvi: [Success] I suppose I do. Not much chance I'll get off this rock on my own, now is there?
KotOR Icon Dark.png Dark Side Points Gained: -2
Nico Senvi: What? You're threatening me? I suppose I do need a kick in the tail to make up my mind. Maybe... it's for the best...

You move closest to the dark side if you can dominate his mind with the Force:

High (Dominate Mind) 2. [Force Persuade] You will sign the contract with Motta.
KotOR Icon Bastila.png Bastila: Forcing the boy to sign his life away? Is that really necessary? KotOR Icon Jolee.png Jolee: Tsk tsk. Not even willing to expend a bit of effort in actual persuasion, hey? Well, you do what you like. KotOR Icon Zaalbar.png Zaalbar: How is this different than slavery? You push the boy against his will. KotOR Icon Juhani.png Juhani: You should not force someone to do what they don't want.
KotOR Icon Dark.png Dark Side Points Gained: -4
Nico Senvi: [Success] I... I'll sign the contract. Yeah, I guess that's best. I mean, the deal can't be all bad, right?
KotOR Icon Journal.png Journal Entry Added: Signing Nico
You have convinced Nico that he should sign Motta's contract. He was resigned to his fate. Time to collect your fee from Motta.
KotOR Icon XP.png Experience Points (XP) Received:
  • 50 Convinced Nico to sign Motta's contract
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Nico Senvi: Leave me alone, will you. I've got things on my mind.

Speak to Motta for your reward:

KotOR Icon Item(s) Received.png Item(s) Received: Motta the Hutt
  • Racing Bonds (20)

You could simply accept this, but you might as well renegotiate on your own behalf:

It's obviously going to be difficult:

Hard 1. [Persuade] I'm worth more. You wouldn't want word of this getting out. High (Dominate Mind) 2. [Force Persuade] You will pay me more and like it.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Motta the Hutt: [Success] I suppose I don't. No one would sign with me again. I'm sure we can come to an agreement. KotOR Icon Dialog.png Motta the Hutt: [Success] I'd... really like to pay you more. I think I can manage something. I don't know why I was arguing.

If this fails, then threatening him first makes it easy to use your own powers of persuasion or the Force:

However, even this isn't necessary if Zaalbar, Canderous, HK-47 or Jolee backs up your threat:

KotOR Icon Dialog.png Motta the Hutt: I'll pay you half again what I said, and that's all. Now, I have to plan for Nico's training. Is there anything else?
KotOR Icon Item(s) Received.png Item(s) Received: Motta the Hutt
  • Racing Bonds (10)

Issued by Motta the Hutt, these bonds are honored throughout the galaxy. Each digital certificate can usually be redeemed for around 60 credits simply by selling them to any merchant or at any store.

Each can be redeemed for 156 credits from Suvam Tan on Yavin Station, 2.6 times as much.

KotOR Icon Journal.png Journal Entry Added: Signing Nico
Motta has rewarded you for helping sign Nico to a very restrictive contract.
KotOR Icon XP.png Experience Points (XP) Received:
  • 200 Rewarded for helping sign Nico to a very restrictive contract

If you try to talk about that business with Nico again:

KotOR Icon Dialog.png Motta the Hutt: Hehe, nothing to talk about, friend. You made sure that Nico signed the best contract I've ever come up with. Everyone's happy too. He gets to race and I get almost everything he wins. I love swoop racing.

Unfinished Business[edit]

Once you've travelled to Korriban and accepted the offer of further employment from the Rodian Lurze Kesh outside Dreshdae's cantina, you can tell Motta the Hutt about the mysterious box in your cargo hold:

KotOR Icon Credits.png Credits Received: 2000

He can be persuaded to pay a little more:

Medium 1. [Persuade] I expect a little more for transporting dangerous goods. Low (Affect Mind) 2. [Force Persuade] You want to pay me a little more.
KotOR Icon Credits.png Credits Received: 2500
KotOR Icon Journal.png Journal Entry Added: Unfinished Business
The mysterious box has been turned over to Motta the Hutt, who paid you for your trouble without much comment. Whatever Motta intends to do with the box will likely remain a mystery, however.
KotOR Icon XP.png Experience Points (XP) Received:
  • 500 Turned over mysterious box to Motta the Hutt

Swoop racers[edit]

The three professional swoop racers stand around the north and east sides of the room: they can all be asked about themselves and racing, and told you're looking for something and asked who knows this planet best. You can also get them to leave, potentially receiving credits from them before they do so (this can be done to Yuka Rill and Zoriis Bafka without moving closer to the dark side of the Force).

There's also a human male swoop racer standing in the southwest corner, to the right of Motta the Hutt:

A human female swoop groupie stands in front of the counter by the west wall:

Garm Totryl[edit]

The Rodian Garm Totryl standing in the northwest corner is a new swoop jock whose time must be beaten in Tier One. You can ask him about himself and racing, telling him you're looking for something and ask who knows this planet best:

You can make him leave with the following response, moving closer to the dark side of the Force:

KotOR Icon Dialog.png Garm Totryl: Hi again. Something I can do for you? I'm just waiting for a crack at the track. KotOR Icon Dialog.png Garm Totryl: Wow, you're pretty good. I mean, I'm just a swoop-kid starting out, but you blew past my time easy. KotOR Icon Dialog.png Garm Totryl: I hear you are moving up. I'll be that good, someday. KotOR Icon Dialog.png Garm Totryl: I You are crazy-fast, you know that? I saw your races and... well, I'm just amazed. What do you need?
KotOR Icon Dark.png Dark Side Points Gained: -2
3. What makes you think you know anything about me, worm?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Garm Totryl: Uh, I didn't mean anything. I don't want any trouble.

You can get him to pay you to leave him alone before he does so:

KotOR Icon Credits.png Credits Received: 20

Otherwise:

KotOR Icon Dialog.png Garm Totryl: I'm not waiting around for you to snap. I'm no fighter. I just race.

Yuka Rill[edit]

The Ithorian Yuka Rill standing in the northeast corner, closest to the exit, is an old swoop jock whose time must be beaten in Tier Two. You can ask him about himself and racing, telling him you're looking for something and ask who knows this planet best:

He'll no longer answer questions after this response:

KotOR Icon Dialog.png Yuka Rill: You again? Why don't you go bother someone else. It's not like I owe you money or something. KotOR Icon Dialog.png Yuka Rill: You new racers only want two things from old pros: money and advice. My advice? Leave me alone. KotOR Icon Dialog.png Yuka Rill: Oh, it's you. You buried my best time on the track. What, are you *trying* to take money out of my pocket? KotOR Icon Dialog.png Yuka Rill: You again? Come to rub my face in your times? You are practically stealing my paycheck every race you run.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 3. Maybe you were right. Maybe I want money.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Yuka Rill: You don't look like anyone I owe. Stop fooling with me.

It's easy to persuade him to pay, moving closer to the dark side if you use the Force:

Low (Affect Mind) 3. [Force Persuade] You know you need to pay me.
KotOR Icon Dark.png Dark Side Points Gained: -2
Yuka Rill: [Success] I know I need to pay you. It's obvious my old loans have caught up to me. I knew it would happen.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Yuka Rill: Here, this is everything I have. Now just leave me to figure out how I'm going to pay for track time.
KotOR Icon Credits.png Credits Received: 50
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Yuka Rill: I've got enough trouble without dealing with you. Leave me alone.

Otherwise, you can also move closer to the dark side of the Force and receive credits by threatening him:

Low (Affect Mind) 1. [Force Persuade] Your only purpose is to amuse me. Get out. KotOR Icon Dialog.png 4. Show some respect! I could kill you where you stand! KotOR Icon Dialog.png 5. Never mind. I didn't mean anything by it.
KotOR Icon Dark.png Dark Side Points Gained: -2
Yuka Rill: [His head tails twitch nervously. You are obviously not the type of person he wants to risk angering. Still, he tries to seem strong as he leaves.]
KotOR Icon Dark.png Dark Side Points Gained: -2
Yuka Rill: Wait, I don't want a fight. All right, if you want some money, I'll give it to you. I don't need you in my face like this.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Yuka Rill: Go on, I've seen your type before. Go push the kids around. They don't put up much of a fight.
KotOR Icon Credits.png Credits Received: 50
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Yuka Rill: I'm not waiting for you to lose your temper around me. It's not worth it.

In these cases, he leaves.

Zoriis Bafka[edit]

The Twi'lek Zoriis Bafka standing by the east wall, to the left of Motta the Hutt, is a respected swoop jock whose time must be beaten in Tier Three to become champion. You can ask her about herself and racing, telling her you're looking for something and ask who knows this planet best:

You can make her leave with the following response:

KotOR Icon Dialog.png Zoriis Bafka: Hello again. Have you had a chance to look more closely at our sport? KotOR Icon Dialog.png Zoriis Bafka: Well, I am impressed with your efforts on the track. You show the promise of a gifted beginner. KotOR Icon Dialog.png Zoriis Bafka: You have certainly shown your skill on the track. I imagine you'll be taking aim at my times next. KotOR Icon Dialog.png Zoriis Bafka: The track is yours today, I see. Well done beating my time. The sport needs people that give the crowd a spectacle.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 3. Your petty hobbies are of no interest to me.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Zoriis Bafka: All right. Merely making conversation. I'm not looking for a fight.

You move closer to the dark side if you use the Force:

Low (Affect Mind) 1. [Force Persuade] A fight? You are nothing to me. Leave. KotOR Icon Dialog.png 4. Of course not. I meant no harm.
KotOR Icon Dark.png Dark Side Points Gained: -2
Zoriis Bafka : [Success] [Her face suggests that she knows the suggestion in her mind was not her own, but she sees no reason to fight it. She obviously didn't like your company.]
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Zoriis Bafka: The humor of this is lost on me. The mood on this planet is harsh enough without your games. Now, if we are through, I must get back to my race preparations. I prefer to leave your unpleasantness behind.

You can get her to pay you before she leaves, moving closer to the dark side of the Force if you threaten her:

KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. I don't want a fight either. I just want money. KotOR Icon Dark.png Dark Side Points Gained: -2
3. I think you've found one anyway!
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Zoriis Bafka: Now, if we are through, I must get back to my race preparations. I prefer to leave your unpleasantness behind.
KotOR Icon Credits.png Credits Received: 50
