==Places to train==
===Regular===
Regular Arans are pretty easy to train, but it is recommended to know Maplestory quite a bit before you start making a proper one.
*1~10: After you come back to life in Rien, there will be quite a few Aran quests. Complete them and you should go to lv 10 in no time.
*10~13/14: After you make the first job advancement, like the Cygnus knights, you will be given a place to train in Rien. Training Slimes, Training Orange Mushrooms, Training Pigs will make nice experience.
*13~20: You should go to Victoria island, and a few quests will be waiting for you. Complete them to level up quick. Or, you could do the Henesys Party Quest, but with the meelee attacks, it would be pretty hard attacking those flying monsters. It still gives you good experience at the start though. Once you go at about Level 15, fairy Rowen at Ellinia will request you in killing Green mushrooms and Sickly Green Mushrooms. They will make great experience and they might drop goodies such as pan lid, which is popular with theives and can be sold at a high price. If you are ready to burn pots and spam them, you might go to Ant Tunnel.
* 21~25: KPQ is available now. But don't do it yet, because you lack dexterity, which is a pain when killing ligators, King slimes, etc. So instead, do lots of quests, and a new character in Perion will request to kill Depressed Ghost stumps. You might do this quest the same time doing Winston's Planting Trees quest. You are ready enough to go down to Ant Tunnel, so gown down there and Kill horny mushrooms and Zombie mushrooms.
*26~30: Yay! Now you are strong enough to do KPQ! It gives you lots of experience easily and goodies, such as ores. But don't forget to do quests, as the NPC in perion this time wants you to kill Zombie Mushrooms and Murderous Zombie Mushrooms. A great place to train is 'Cave where mushrooms grow' mini dungeon in Ant tunnel, where large amounts of Zombie mushrooms and Horny mushrooms spawn. At lv 29 you will have to kill Francais (the puppeteer)'s cave in the evil eye cave 3. It isn't so hard, just bring at least 10 white potions and 10 blue potions, and you'll do just fine. Or you could go to Orbis and kill Jr. Stentinels, but it's a bit slow.
* Lv 31~50: Do the 2nd job advancement. You will have to kill Asiastic Black Bears to complete it. If you did it, congratulations! Now you can do monster carnival party quest! This PQ gives you monstrous amounts of EXP, so you can easily level up. Sometimes monsters drop coins, so grab them as quickly as possible, because you can exchange them for goodies, such as level 40 stuff. You can also train at Ludibrium and do quests as well.
===Dexless===
You should start making lots of mesos at a low level (about level 10~20). But if you give up buying and selling, this instruction helps you make money through regular gameplay.
*10~20: Do a few quests, and immediately kill pigs and green mushrooms.

The Arans were heroes of the past who fought for the Maple World but the Black Magician froze them with a curse. After hundreds of years, the heroes from the past awakened from a voice of a soft and ice cold looking girl. They were cursed and imprisoned in the ice for a very long time, leading to a loss of their memories and abilities.

The heroes are aware that the Black Magician will come back to the Maple World very soon and they are determined to defeat the Black Magician for once and for all.

If you create an Aran, the new character will have a default tan skin. Arans starts in an area called Rien, an icy snow covered area with very low temperatures located in a warm place due to the curse. More than half of the island is covered with snow and ice. Arans are a warrior-type class who use polearms as their main weapon. Like Cygnus Knight, in the selecting character screen there will be a bamboo image identifying the character as an Aran.

To make the Arans even more unique, they have a game mechanic that no other class gets to use: the combo system. Players are able to increase their combo counter by continuously hitting monsters. As their combo counter increases, so does their damage. Some of the Arans' skills require the player to build up their combo counter before they can use them.

Pros
  • Due to having an HP draining buff in second job, fewer HP potions are needed.
  • Can knockback enemies easier due to a third job buff which reduces the amount of damage required to knockback.
  • A 4th job party skill called Combo Barrier (reduces damage taken by a certain percentage) only requires 200 Combo Counts.
Cons
  • Due to how much of a part combos take up, enemies with stunning or seducing attacks are difficult.
  • To keep their combo counters up high they must train on slightly higher leveled monsters.
  • Repetitive. They really only have two main attacking skills that don't require some combo counter amount to use.
  • Very low HP, much lower than a normal warrior.
