Basics[edit]

AP Distribution[edit]

STR is the Demon Slayer's main damage stat. DEX has a limited role in determining accuracy, but level has a far greater effect. For this reason, little to no AP should be spent in DEX, depending on funding. Most equipment doesn't have a DEX requirement either, the only exception being the Stonetooth/Ribgol Sword. Warriors should apply 3 strength and 2 dexterity until they have reached their dexterity 'cap', meaning whatever amount of dexterity they feel is enough. Once you have reached your dexterity cap, you apply all points into strength.

Most characters with no starting funds will stop adding dexterity when they reach 40-60 dexterity. Depending on starting funds, characters may choose to not add dexterity at all.

Consider trying to go without DEX, or at least keep it as low as you can. Second job Physical Training adds 30 DEX. It's not difficult to add more with other equipment such as rings and zhelm.

Skill Build[edit]

At level 10, after you job advance to Demon Slayer, you will get 4 skills in the beginner tab automatically.

  • Level 10: +1 Dark Winds (1)
  • Level 10: +1 Curse of Fury (1)
  • Level 10: +1 Fury Unleashed (1)
  • Level 10: +1 Demonic Blood (1)

Note: Level 10 Fury Unleashed is a Link Skill, but it can not be given to another character on your account until you reach level 70. It can be changed to another character on the account only one time per day.

  • Level 10: Demon Wings is a mount. Open Character Info, Press Mount (tab), put this skill on a keyboard key.

First Job[edit]

All first job skills will be maxed. There are a couple good 1 pointers, then max Demon Lash first as it will be your primary attack.

Don't forget to talk to Dances with Balrog at level 18 for your Andras hat. It gives 12 STR.

Regular Build
  • Level 10: +3 Demon Lash (3), +1 Grim Scythe (1), +1 Shadow Swiftness (1)
  • Level 11: +3 Demon Lash (6)
  • Level 12: +3 Demon Lash (9)

End Result
  • Demon Lash: Level 10
  • Shadow Swiftness: Level 10
  • Battle Pact: Level 20
  • Grim Scythe: Level 15
  • HP Boost: Level 10

HP Boost should not be needed at this level, so it's left for last. You could swap Battle Pact and Grim Scythe if you want.

Second Job[edit]

At level 30, go to Concrete Road: Edelstein Park 2. Take the hidden portal near the fountain to Hidden Street: Nearby Edelstein Park Fountain 2, and defeat Strange Monster. This is also a good time to Take the hidden portal at the top to Hidden Street: Neglected Park, and talk to Surl if you haven't already done so. After talking to Mastema Cat, go back to Resistance Headquarters: Secret Plaza and talk to him again.

Lots of good 1 pointers here including Barbed Lash. This will permanently boost up your basic attack which is still your primary attack, with Soul Eater replacing Grim Scythe as a secondary attack. Next max Mastery for stability and Outrage for damage.

Regular Build
  • Level 30: +1 Barbed Lash (1), +1 Soul Eater (1), +1 Dark Thrust (1), +1 Chaos Lock (1)
  • Level 31: +1 Weapon Mastery (1), +1 Vengeance (1), +1 Outrage (1)
  • Level 32: +3 Weapon Mastery (4)
  • Level 33: +3 Weapon Mastery (7)
  • Level 34: +3 Weapon Mastery (10)
  • Level 35: +3 Weapon Mastery (13)
  • Level 36: +3 Weapon Mastery (16)
  • Level 37: +3 Weapon Mastery (19)
  • Level 38: +1 Weapon Mastery (20), +2 Outrage (3)
  • Level 39: +3 Outrage (6)
  • Level 40: +3 Outrage (9)
  • Level 41: +3 Outrage (12)
  • Level 42: +3 Outrage (15)
  • Level 43: +3 Outrage (18)
  • Level 44: +2 Outrage (20), +1 Physical Training (1)
  • Level 45: +3 Physical Training (4)
  • Level 46: +3 Physical Training (7)
  • Level 47: +3 Physical Training (10)
  • Level 48: +3 Vengeance (4)
  • Level 49: +3 Vengeance (7)
  • Level 50: +3 Vengeance (10)
  • Level 51: +3 Vengeance (13)
  • Level 52: +3 Vengeance (16)
  • Level 53: +3 Vengeance (19)
  • Level 54: +1 Vengeance (20), +2 Soul Eater (3)
  • Level 55: +3 Soul Eater (6)
  • Level 56: +3 Soul Eater (9)
  • Level 57: +3 Soul Eater (12)
  • Level 58: +3 Soul Eater (15)
  • Level 59: +3 Soul Eater (18)
  • Level 60: +2 Soul Eater (20), +1 Dark Thrust (2)
  • Level 61: +3 Dark Thrust (5)
  • Level 62: +3 Dark Thrust (8)
  • Level 63: +3 Dark Thrust (11)

  • Level 65: +3 Dark Thrust (17)
  • Level 66: +3 Dark Thrust (20)
  • Level 67: +3 Chaos Lock (4)
  • Level 68: +3 Chaos Lock (7)
  • Level 69: +3 Chaos Lock (10)
  • Level 70: +3 Chaos Lock (13)
End Result
  • Barbed Lash: Level 1
  • Weapon Mastery: Level 20
  • Outrage: Level 20
  • Physical Training: Level 10
  • Vengeance: Level 20
  • Soul Eater: Level 20
  • Dark Thrust: Level 20
  • Chaos Lock: Level 13

After maxing out your primary attack boosting skills, Soul Eater and Vengeance could be swapped depending on which you use more, but Soul Eater's first real use is level 48 Spirit of Rock (Kerning Square boss), then you don't need it again till about level 54 when you go to Jesters and it works fine with only 1 point. Vengeance will match Battle Pact time when maxed and they work good together on a macro. Dark Thrust and Chaos Lock also do their job well with only 1 point. The extra damage is nice, but can easily wait till later as it can already 1HKO CD's with only 1 point. Chaos Lock does not get maxed.

Third Job[edit]

At level 70, go to Concrete Road: Edelstein Park 2. Take the hidden portal near the fountain to Hidden Street: Nearby Edelstein Park Fountain 2. Talk to Mastema cat, and complete sparring with Mastema.

Lots of good 1 pointers here including Demon Lash Arch. This will permanently boost up your basic attack which is still your primary attack. Max Fury is next for the additional Demon Force recovery, then Focused Fury for additional attack.

Regular Build
  • Level 70: +1 Demon Lash Arch (1), +1 Judgment (1), +1 Vortex of Doom (1), +1 Carrion Breath (1)
  • Level 71: +1 Max Fury (1), +1 Focused Fury (1), +1 Raven Storm (1)

  • Level 100: +3 Black-Hearted Strength (15)
  • Level 101: +3 Black-Hearted Strength (18)
  • Level 102: +2 Black-Hearted Strength (20). +1 Raven Storm (2)
  • Level 103: +3 Raven Storm (5)

  • Black-Hearted Strength: Level 20
  • Raven Storm: Level 20
  • Judgment: Level 20 (or 18)
  • Vortex of Doom: Level 18 (or 20)

After maxing out your primary attack boosting skills (Fury), Possessed Aegis gives a passive recovery to HP and DF. Carrion Breath is a poison attack with DoT and it's followed by Insult to Injury to boost the attack on poisoned or stunned mobs. Black-Hearted Strength is your defense buff, and Raven Storm recovers HP when you attack instead of using pots, but it has a cooldown so it's maxed late. Judgment is next for another attack. If you prefer it, this could be swapped with Carrion Breath and Insult to Injury. Vortex of Doom does it's job just fine with only 1 point, so it's last and not maxed.

Alternate Build
  • Level 70: +1 Demon Lash Arch (1), +1 Judgment (1), +1 Vortex of Doom (1), +1 Carrion Breath (1)
  • Level 71: +1 Max Fury (1), +1 Focused Fury (1), +1 Raven Storm (1)

  • Raven Storm: Level 20
  • Carrion Breath: Level 20
  • Insult to Injury: Level 15
  • Vortex of Doom: Level 18 (or 20)

This alternate build just swaps Judgment for Carrion Breath and Insult to Injury. Demon Lash Arch is still your primary attack and you really don't need 2 secondary attacks so choose the one you like to train with better. The end result is the same. You are left with a choice to max Judgment or Vortex of Doom and leave one at 18.

Fourth Job[edit]

At level 100, you will get a light bulb. Tell Mastema no when he asks if your training is going well. He will send you to Ludibrim: Path of Time. Talk to him again, and he will send you to a place where you need to defeat your past self. After you do this, you will be sent to Resistance Headquarters: Secret Plaza in Edelstein.

A level by level build is not realistic as there is no way to predict when you will find, or be able to buy, the required mastery books, but here are some tips to get you started.

Regular Build
  • Level 120: +1 Demon Thrash (1), +1 Infernal Concussion (1), +1 Demon Impact (1), +1 Binding Darkness (1)
  • Level 121: +1 Demon Cry (1), +1 Dark Metamorphosis (1), +1 Obsidian Skin (1)
  • Level 122: +1 Barricade Mastery (1), +1 Boundless Rage (1), +1 Leech Aura (1)
  • Level 123: +3 Barricade Mastery (4)
  • Level 124: +3 Barricade Mastery (7)
  • Level 125: +3 Barricade Mastery (10)

Almost everything gets one point to start off, then max Barricade Mastery followed by Dark Metamorphosis or Demon Impact depending on what you think will best enhance your training.

End Result (This shows max all as it has yet to be determined what to leave points off)
  • Demon Thrash: Level 1
  • Barricade Mastery: Level 30
  • Dark Metamorphosis: Level 30
  • Demon Impact: Level 30
  • Leech Aura: Level 10
  • Binding Darkness: Level 20
  • Demon Cry: Level 20
  • Boundless Rage: Level 15
  • Obsidian Skin: Level 30
  • Maple Warrior: Level 30
  • Infernal Concussion: Level 30
