FriendStory is the first spin-off in MapleStory. This is created due to Elwin's mistake in creating a parallel dimension that connects the 2 different dimensions together. Characters in Maple World behaves differently in Seoul World as they are 2 different people actually.

Pre-requisites

• Level 100 or higher

Outline

There are a total of 6 chapters and a Prologue. Each chapter (excluding Prologue) will give Silver Needles and certain special rewards. The storyline focuses on the topic of dark energy seeping from Maple World into Seoul, which causes Dust Monsters and Troublemakers spawning in Seoul.

The Mobile Phone

For the purpose of this FriendStory, you will have a smartphone with you. It has various uses.

1. Contacts: Call a friend when needed. (Especially Orchid between 8-9pm)
2. Gallery: Pictures of memory while completing Prologue and Chapters 1 to 5.
3. Camera: Take picture when needed.
4. Phone: Same function as Contacts.
5. Messages: Messages sent from your friends. Message log will be updated based on how far you have progressed in the stories. Includes colloquial languages, such as lol and it varies between regions.
6. Home: Sends you back to the home page of the smartphone.

You can access the phone either inside Seoul or when you have unread messages or images in Gallery.

Replay

You can replay the whole of FriendStory (excluding Prologue) after clearing it and you will get all EXP and item rewards. You also will have access to bonus contacts (so that you can get their chairs) and bonus cut-scenes and missions for Chapter 1 to 5.

If you replayed after a replay, bonus contacts are also deleted. You would need to retrigger the situation to get back the bonus contact.

If you replayed during an incomplete replay, 2nd play benefits are still applied even though the text says otherwise.

All quests will give EXP equal to 30 units of FriendStory monster EXP based on level (up till 53,777 EXP per unit for Level 200+ or basically 1,613,310 EXP at Level 200+) unless stated.

Dungeon

After clearing FriendStory once, you can access the dungeon located at the Old Wing (top left of Urbab, directly to the left of the New School Building). The place is said to be haunted.

Pre-requisites

• 1 to 6 members in a party
• Level gap of 20 or less between highest and lowest levelled member
• Maximum 10 entries daily.
• Equip Shinsoo International School Badge (obtainable after clearing Chapter 5).

Outline

• There are 4 rooms and 1 boss room (rooftop).
• Every room has a 2 minute 45 seconds timer, with the special monster spawning after 45 seconds. To advance, just kill the special monster.
• Boss room has a 5 minute timer.
• Up till 4 deaths are allowed. If you die 5 times you are booted out.
• Boss can deal damage reflect of about 1 million damage.

Rewards

• EXP equal to 100 units of FriendStory Monster EXP Based on level (no cap)
• Bonus EXP equal to 70 units per EXP Bonus granted by each special monster/boss.
• Badge EXP to increase Badge Level, which increases Badge Stats.
• Bonus Badge EXP per Badge EXP Bonus granted by each special monster/boss.
• 4 Silver Needles (and possibly 1 Gold Needle dropped by Boss)
• 1 Extra Silver Needle per Silver Needle Bonus granted by each special monster/boss.

Needles

Needles can be used to buy items off Big Headward in his Uniform Shop. He sells overall anvils into School Uniforms and chairs. Prices vary based on its design.
