This is the first boss found on the continent of Masteria. It is located in the Phantom Forest at Hollowed Ground, a hidden street near the Prendergast Mansion. It has a slashing fire attack and can throw its' flaming head at players. It spawns every 6 hours near it's tombstone alongside the Jr. Wraiths. The Headless Horseman's Jack O'Lantern "head" is now an important item dropped by it, which is used to upgrade the Ancient Armor into Bosshunter Gear, as well as for a quest for Lita Lawless. Headless Horseman can also spawn randomly in the phantom forest crossroads ambushing unlucky adventurers who come across it. Headless Horseman has a rather long backstory: He was once a powerful knight named Killian who fought for Crimsonwood Keep, wielding the powers of intense flame, and he had fallen in love with the odd Chaos Magician LeFay. When she left the Keep, he would often trek out to the Krakian Jungle to visit her. On one of these visits, Killian was horrified to discover that the Krakians had burned down LeFay's house and captured her. In exchange for her life, the Krakians' leader, a mysterious alchemist, required Killian to become his test subject. After a long time, the Alchemist had found out the secret to Killian's power, and created an army of fire-based beings. When the Alchemist wanted Killian to lead this evil army against his own people, or face the death of LeFay, he instead used his power to burn his own head off! The Alchemist, however, was not disturbed by this in the least and instead placed a carved out pumpkin on his neck. Next, he turned to the captive LeFay and, having no further use for her, transformed her into a Pink Horse. With the headless horseman now complete, he unleashed this monstrosity upon the people of Masteria, where it wreaks havoc to this day.

  • HP: 70,000
  • MP: 300
  • PDR: 38%
  • MDR: 5,500%
  • EXP: 4,100
A medium speed monster. If you're in the map, Thanatos automatically attacks. Sometimes the rewards are extremely bad. Beware, it can inflict almost any status ailment including poison, and its damage can top 3000. Spawns in pairs. It does have one weakness; if you stand at its left it can only use its ice attack, and at its right it can only use curse, seal, and darkness, making it a choice target for priests that can bombard it with holy spells from its right. Hunted by higher-level Dragon Knights for the level 90 spear Fairfrozen (Not true for global version). this monster is resistant to ice and therefore it does NOT freeze, however a high level ranger with hawk can incapacitate it easily. The right side guardian to Papulatus' layer at the base of the Clock Tower.
Gatekeeper
MS Monster Gatekeeper.png

attacks without warning

  • Level: 108
  • HP: 78,000
  • MP: 200
  • PDR: 38%
  • MDR: 5,500%
  • EXP: 4,300
This monster is slow but if you move close to it, it bangs its weapon on the ground and can change its weapon to Axes and Swords. The sword is capable of stunning its victims. Its attacks have a range on the ground, but can be dodged by jumping (similar to the way you can avoid a Yeti's earthquake), provided that you are not underneath its arms when it swings. Freezable, so it is a far easier monster to kill for those with a freezing move. Drops the level 88 wand Magicodar (Not true of global version). The left side guardian to Papulatus' layer at the base of the Clock Tower.
The Priest of Regret

Pianus (Left Side)
MS Monster Pianus (Left Side).png

Boss
Summons Blood Boom

  • Level: 110
  • HP: 24,000,000
  • MP: 3,000,000
  • PDR: 14%
  • MDR: 10,000%
  • EXP: 900,000
A huge fish that is immobile. Rumor has it that the reason it doesn't move is because the rest of its' body is stuck in a hole in the side of the cave, but it is certain that there's more of Pianus' body that remains unseen. Summons Blood Booms from time to time, causes rocks to rain on you from the ceiling, can shoot a beam from it's mouth, and has an attack that can bring your HP and MP to 1. This boss is weak to fire so if you're a White Knight, try using fire charge for massive damage. Also, this is the weaker Pianus because it has 6,000,000 less HP than the right side and does approximately 1,000 less damage with its attacks. This Pianus is considered the more valuable of the two versions because it can be killed easily by archers and assassins looking for 4th Job skillbooks. This Pianus spawns every 36 hours after being killed and is found in a room off the bottom room of Aqua dungeon. In GlobalMS, both Pianus have begun to drop Pianus's Scale, an item needed to upgrade Ancient Armor into the powerful Bosshunter Gear.

Boss
Summons Blood Boom

  • Level: 110
  • HP: 30,000,000
  • MP: 3,000,000
  • PDR: 14%
  • MDR: 10,000%
  • EXP: 1,300,000
A huge fish that is immobile. Rumor has it that the reason it doesn't move is because the rest of its' body is stuck in a hole in the side of the cave, but it is certain that there's more of Pianus' body that remains unseen. Summons Blood Booms from time to time, causes rocks to rain on you from the ceiling, can shoot a beam from it's mouth, and has an attack that can bring your HP and MP to 1. This boss is weak to fire, so if you're a White Knight, try using fire charge for massive damage. Also this is the stronger Pianus, with glitched dispel and lock but higher damage. If you stand on top of it or both Pianus are spawned, the right side Pianus's dispel and lock will work. If you attack it without taking touch damage and while the left side Pianus is not spawned, the right side cannot dispel or lock. Spawns every 24 hours after being killed and is found in a room off the last map of Aqua Dungeon. In GlobalMS, both Pianus have begun to drop Pianus's Scale, an item needed to upgrade Ancient Armor into the powerful Bosshunter Gear.

Boss

  • Level: 110
  • HP: 32,000,000
  • MP: 10,000,000
  • PDR: 37%
  • MDR: 2,000%
  • EXP: 2,660,000
A mysterious Bigfoot, which looks like a reverse yeti, having huge feet but tiny arms. Though it has rather wimpy stomp damage, it once had an extremely deadly stomp, doing about 33,000 damage (more than the maximum possible HP value), but its stomp damage has been returned to normal. It's being led around by the Leprechaun on its' shoulder, so it probably doesn't even realize what harm it's doing! Must be hunted for a quest given by Lita Lawless. It's one of the few high level bosses capable of jumping, and it spawns on several different maps, giving the illusion that it's encountered randomly as it walks through the forest. Be careful if you're exploring the forest, as it could appear at any time! Be careful, as the lollipop and the Leprechaun on its back count as a part of Bigfoot, and it deals about 11,000-12,000 touch damage.
