China is the name of the region, naturally, based on Chinese culture. It consists of two separate areas, each containing two towns, for a grand total of four towns. These towns are Shanghai Wai-Tan, Yuyuan Garden, Mount Song Town, and Grand Hall of the Great Sage. The phrase "Dong Fang Shen Zhou" (东方神州), translates in English to "The Eastern Divine Land", or "The Oriental Divine Land".

The Shanghai region has two towns that can be reached by walking between them, which are Shanghai Wai-Tan and Yuyuan Garden. Shanghai Wai-Tan Availability: JapanMS, ChinaMS, TaiwanMS, and MSEA. Region: World Tour. Roads: Dong Fang Shen Zhou (ChinaMS, TaiwanMS) / China (JapanMS, MapleSEA). Level Range: 20-50. The Ferry passes by in the background of Shanghai Wai-Tan. Shanghai is the main area of China. It is a modern, urban town, featuring a ferry that floats past in the background. On the far right an NPC stands by with an airplane, and there's even a hot air balloon that players can climb into. The NPCs in Shanghai sell the typical things, such as armor, potions, and weapons for levels 40 and below. There is a quest involving the defeat of the one boss found here. Outside of Shanghai are farm-themed maps, where Roosters, Ducks, Sheep, Black Sheep, Goats, Black Goats, Cows and Plow Oxen can be found. These maps move further away from the town, as can be seen by the fading buildings in the background. At the end of Shanghai's farm maps, the King Centipede boss is located. Defeating this boss allows a player to finish a quest where the ever valuable Steely Throwing Stars and Blue Moon are a possible prize. In ChinaMS and TaiwanMS, Shanghai Wai-Tan is reached via Yang the Pilot, located at the top of Perion and Shanghai airport. In JapanMS, TaiwanMS and MapleSEA, Shanghai can be reached via Spinel the Tour Guide as part of the World Tour. Shanghai Wai-Tan is not available in ThailandMS, GlobalMS, EuropeMS, BrazilMS and VietnamMS, and removed in KoreaMS. File:Shanghai Urban Square.jpg Shanghai Urban Square Shanghai Urban Square replace the former Shanghai airport. The new Shanghai Urban Square features some new quests. Yuyuan Garden File:MS Yuyuan Garden82.jpg Yuyuan Garden main town, near the Free Market entrance. Availability: ChinaMS and TaiwanMS. Region: World Tour. Roads: Dong Fang Shen Zhou (ChinaMS, TaiwanMS). Yuyuan Garden can be reached by walking from Shanghai Wai-Tan to the right passing the Shanghai Urban Square. This area is almost exclusively made up of shops. A variety of items are available from a number of different NPCs. The Yuyuan Garden also leads to a PvP arena map, which has three doors that lead to three different battle ground maps. It involves a number of contests between two Maplers, usually killing a monster first or completing a jump quest in the fastest time. There is a Free Market entrance here. Yuyuan Garden has no monsters at this time. It is currently only available in ChinaMS and TaiwanMS. ThailandMS has access to just the PvP arena. PvP area portals exist in most Ossyria towns, and Perion of Victoria, allowing a player to enter the arena from anywhere. Shaolin Monastery The second region of Dong Fang Shen Zhou is the Shaolin Monastery area. It is reached by a separate designation on the World Tour NPC. One can walk between the two towns, which are Mount Song Town, and the Grand Hall of the Great Sage. File:MS Shaolin Temple Icon.png Mount Song Town Availability: ChinaMS, JapanMS, and TaiwanMS. Region: World Tour. Roads: Dong Fang Shen Zhou (ChinaMS, TaiwanMS) / China (JapanMS). Level Range (TMS): 30-45. Level Range (JMS): 40-65. Level Range (CMS): 80-95. Mount Song is based on the past of China, and is the latest exclusive map. It features very powerful monsters and seemingly has a boss. File:MS Shaolin Temple Town.jpg Mount Song Town, the main town area of Shaolin Monastery. Mount Song Town is the first town in the Shaolin Monastery area, an ancient Chinese style town that is surrounded by bamboo trees where merchants sell potions and weapons, and town folks giving out quests. The other features in the Mount Song Town are a Free Market entrance, Hair Salon, Plastic Surgery, and Skin care. Little else is known at this point. Mount Song Town can be accessed by talking to Spinel the World Tour Guide. This area is currently only available in JapanMS, TaiwanMS and ChinaMS. Grand Hall of the Great Sage is the second Town in the Shaolin Monastery area before the entrance to the Sutra Library and the Pagoda Forest. This town can be reached by foot from Mount Song Town.
