The long wait for the Dual Blade is over, and Maplers will be able to jump into the shoes of a Dual Blade and experience the power and speed that they have!
Gold Richie who is 2nd richest person (other than Cai Shen) in MapleSEA is back! Get bonus EXP up to 13500 EXP PER ENTRY with the Gold Richie’s Treasure Map Event!

Basic Features of Dual Blade
MapleStory’s first ever dual blade character who attacks with a dagger in one hand and a blade (katara), which is a sub weapon, in the other.

6. [System Event] Free Dual Blade Character
(Event Period: 10/11/2010 – 12/12/2010)
To reward players who have been sticking with us, players will be given the option to raise the level of their first Dual Blade character from 1 all the way to 30 or 50, free of change, with only one condition; you just have to have an existing level 40 or 60 character in your existing Maple Account.


To create your free level 30/50 Dual Blade Character, please read the following tutorial carefully, as you will only be given the chance Only Once.
Double Click the Blank Compass once you have gather all the required items to transform it into Gold Compass!






Double Click the Gold Compass between 8pm-10pm to go into the event map!


Step 1
Create a new Dual Blade character.


You will have 1 minute to stay inside the event map to hunt Golden Pig’s Egg! (Surprise awaits you when you open up the eggs!)




The best part is, upon entering the map, you will receive BONUS EXP!!!. Bonus EXP varies between your character level.




Step 2
NOTE:
Upon entering the game with your new Dual Blade character, you will be instantly greeted by the Maple Administrator and offered to be transported to Kerning City Directly. If you do not accept this, you will have to go to Kerning City yourself!
There is a 7 minutes interval if you are going to enter event map for the second time or more.
Minimum level requirement for this event is level 13.
Quest is repeatable every 30 minutes to receive the Blank Compass from NPC Cassandra.

Upon reaching Kerning City, seek out Ryden.


2. [System Event] Maple Ring Event

Obtain quest from NPC Maple Administrator.
Collect 10 Rainbow Maple Leaves.


Exchange Maple Ring or Maple Ring Scroll with NPC Maple Administrator.




 
NOTE:
Minimum level requirement for this event is level 13.
Quest is repeatable from NPC Maple Administrator.


Step 4
 
Once you talk to him, he will offer you to be a Blade Acolyte directly.
Failing to click “Yes” means you will permanently give up your chance. So be careful!




Players eligible for this event will also receive 1 Maple Series Katara from NPC Ryden no matter you accept or reject his offer to directly advance to level 30 or 50.


3. [System Event] CNY Event: Happy New Year!
(Event Period: 19/01/2011, 0000hrs – 16/02/2011, 2359hrs)

Collect alphabets drop by monsters to make a full “Happy New Year"and talk to NPC Maple Administrator.


NPC Maple Administrator will reward you with a Devil Scroll.
Bring the Devil Scroll to NPC Chun Ji in Kerning or NPC Geanie in Ludibrium.


Fulfill their requests and they will decipher the devil scroll into a Magic Box  filled with random treasures!
Bring the maigc box to NPC Mr Pickall in Kerning City to reveal the hidden treasure that is inside the magic box!

Curious to know what will be inside the mysterious Magic Box? Mr Pickall did reveal a few of the treasures as stated below.

Player can celebrate the “Lunar Year of Rabbit” with the majestic lion dance in MapleSEA! All they have to do is speak to Yuan Bao Fo conveniently located in most towns to travel to a special event map where the playful Dong Dong Chiang hides!
- Eligible accounts will receive the Free Coupon upon the first login into Cash Shop.
- Free Coupon will expire after 15 days.

Cassandra has been acting rather suspicious as of late, and according to the Maplers in the know, she is offering a reward to Maplers who would be her agents and collect a number of Secret Reports for her. These Secret Reports are created by the Dual Blades, and contain secret information about Maple World. They have been hidden in monsters all around Maple World, so you will have to hunt around for them. Help Cassandra find out more about the Dual Blades and get rewarded in the process!

Gaga is now a Part-time Bunny on the Moon?!?!
Repeatable every 30 minutes.
Gaga has prepare a fireworks celebration event for Chinese New Year!
Hunt down Powder Keg  which is used to make firecrackers and pass them to Gaga…...the part-time bunny on the Moon….....
But wait…seems like the fireworks celebration is attracting some alien visitors too!
Defeat them to obtain Fairy Pendant Coupon.




Exchange it with Grandpa Moon Bunny for Fairy Pendant.


9. [System Event] Dual Blade Level Up Reward
(Event Period: 10/11/2010 – 29/12/2010)


A time limited event to reward players for playing the new Dual Blade class, this event rewards players with Masks and Scrolls every 10 levels achieved!
So play a Dual Blade and race to the top; you will be reward as you do so! Here are the list of rewards you will receive, from level 20 all the way to 100, so what are you waiting for? Get your Dual Blade up to 100 and receive all the rewards before the end of the event!




6. [Horned Tail System] Chaos and Normal Horned Tail Expedition Changes (Permanent)
After reviewing various feedback from our dedicated Maplers, there will be some minor changes to Chaos and Normal Horned Tail Expedition for the benefits of Maplers with effect from v0.98 patch.


10. [System Event] Owl Sticker
(Event Period: 10/11/2010 – 29/12/2010)


Change of Reward Requirements for Normal and Chaos Horned Tail
• Rewards for both Normal and Chaos Horned Tail will ONLY be given with the following condition fulfilled:
1) Horned Tail has to be defeated by more than 11 or more surviving players. (Requirement remains)
2) Upon summoned, the battle against Horned Tail has to last for more than 1 hour. (Requirement removed)




Strange Owl Stickers are dropping all around Maple World, and while Maplers might not know where they come from or what is the purpose for them appearing, they do know that items appear after using them! But, apart from that, it is rumored that a number of stickers are special, rewarding lucky Maplers with Cash Items and even Maple Plushies!
Minor Map Change to The Cave of Trial 1
• Minor map change as stated in the image below. Additional rock barrier to the top of the map added.
Applies to both Normal and Chaos Horned Tail Expedition.

The Maple Administrator is giving out Dark Feathers to celebrate the launch of the Dual Blades! Do not be fooled by it’s unassuming look; if you hold it (keep it in your inventory) for 15 minutes, it will change into a bright feather! You can then take it to the Maple Administrator and exchange it for a buff of your choice. You can choose from two buffs, either a 2x EXP buff or a 2x Drop Rate buff for 30 minutes!
• Unable to use Gargoyle Mount
- For Level 13 or above.
• Malaysia Kampung Village Free Market Teleport Portal (return to wrong map from Free Market)
- Quest repeatable every 24 hours.
• Inconsistent of Chaos Horned Tail rewards (No reward given)
- If character died or logout before the 15 minutes is up for Dark feather to turn into Bright Feather, please forfeit the quest “Dual Blade - Everyday 2X Buff!” under In Progress Quest tab to restart quest.

To be fully prepared for this really short (1 minute short!) event, you should be in the game 5-15 minutes earlier, ensure that you have a few empty slots in your inventory (in all categories!) and that you are not in the Cash Shop or MTS. Also, please do not set up your shop in the Free Market using the VIP Store Permit..

Player can celebrate the “Lunar Year of Rabbit” with the majestic lion dance in MapleSEA! All they have to do is speak to Yuan Bao Fo conveniently located in most towns to travel to a special event map where the playful Dong Dong Chiang hides!

If you happen to miss Dong Dong Chiang to the early birds, do linger around and keep a sharp eye for it as it re-spawns after some time. Defeat the monster and celebrate the Chinese New Year special with special drops like local specialties and Maple weapons! But wait…seems like the fireworks celebration is attracting some alien visitors too! Defeat them to obtain Fairy Pendant Coupon.


Exchange it with Grandpa Moon Bunny for Fairy Pendant.



6. [Horned Tail System] Chaos and Normal Horned Tail Expedition Changes (Permanent) After reviewing various feedback from our dedicated Maplers, there will be some minor changes to Chaos and Normal Horned Tail Expedition for the benefits of Maplers with effect from v0.98 patch.


Change of Reward Requirements for Normal and Chaos Horned Tail • Rewards for both Normal and Chaos Horned Tail will ONLY be given with the following condition fulfilled: 1) Horned Tail has to be defeated by more than 11 or more surviving players. (Requirement remains) 2) Upon summoned, the battle against Horned Tail has to last for more than 1 hour. (Requirement removed)


Minor Map Change to The Cave of Trial 1 • Minor map change as stated in the image below. Additional rock barrier to the top of the map added. Applies to both Normal and Chaos Horned Tail Expedition.



Change of Time Limit for Normal Horned Tail Expedition • Change of Normal Horned Tail expedition maximum time limit from 12 hours to 2 hours.
